Resident Evil Redemption
Chapter 41 On the Right Track
After a hasty breakfast, she closed the door of the archive room and began to study again. She sat directly on the ground, and the documents were scattered all over the place.About an hour later, the team members came one after another. Jill came to get the file, and she didn't know where to go when she stepped in the door.
"My God! What are you doing?"
"Huh?" Shrine looked up at Jill, only to realize that the place had been messed up by himself.
"I'm here to get the materials, we're going to have a meeting, hurry up and tidy yourself up." Jill picked up the messy files on the ground and hurried out. "Director Irons is here, and he's bringing an investigator. I think it's about you this time. We need to hurry."
"Oh, okay!" Shrine got up immediately, picked up another stack of documents and followed out.
The morning meeting started, and the topic turned out to be the previous murder cases.Obviously, this was the result of last night's discussion, but Shrine suddenly felt uncomfortable. She didn't quite understand why these politicians changed faces so quickly.
In fact, the reason is very obvious.Unusually passive, mostly due to pressure from public opinion.Of course, there is public opinion. After all, this time the fire had already reached the inside of the police station.
This morning meeting is entirely in the hands of the CEO. Director Irons and the beautiful Miss Investigator sat aside and listened.
Wesker wrote the words "intentional homicide," "mentally twisted," and "antisocial" on the whiteboard.
"What else is possible?" He asked lightly.
"Religion." Jill rested one hand on her chin and tapped the other on the table. Her eyes locked on the whiteboard. "I personally think that it may be some kind of cult sacrificial ceremony."
Wesker nodded and wrote "religion" and "sacrifice" on the whiteboard.
"Is there any more?" He looked at Shrine who was sitting in the back row in fugue.
Although Shrine is sitting here, his mind is not here at all. Chris nudged her to bring her back quickly.
"Dog..." Shrine blurted out.
The air in the entire meeting room was suddenly quiet. All eyes are cast over.
After realizing what was wrong, Shrine immediately forced to explain "I mean, a large carnivore similar to a dog..."
Wesker turned and wrote the word "creature" on the whiteboard.
"Hahahaha, let me say, miss, you are really interesting." Brad who was opposite her burst out laughing. "How could such a thing happen? Otherwise, I would have been bitten to death by my girlfriend's damn poodle several times!"
"So, sir, what's your opinion?" Barry, who hadn't spoken for a long time, choked next to him, "You didn't even think of a shit."
As the captain, Wesker selectively ignored the remarks of these two men. Then, he conducted a detailed analysis of the word "biology", making it clear that he was saying "I also think this is the most convincing point of view".This can't help but make Brad feel very embarrassed, no wonder he keeps his head down.
After the morning meeting, Shrine got up to move around and went back to the office. He saw the beautiful investigator with red hair and enchanting figure walking into Wesker's office. She glanced there. Emmm... Not interested for now, she is thinking about personal matters.
"Shrine!" Chris slapped her on the back, not hard, but enough to scare her half to death.
"Chris!" Shrine yelled, almost throwing the phone's water glass out. "What do you want to do?!"
"I'm sorry, I just wanted to ask if you're okay?" Chris's expression instantly became particularly aggrieved. "I've been too busy recently. I haven't talked to you much since you came back."
"..." This made Shrine suddenly realize that maybe he really has become too sensitive recently.A sense of guilt rose from the bottom of my heart. "Ah, I'm okay..."
"Hmm..." Chris realized that he had suddenly run out of words, so he eased his embarrassment with a long voice. The two of them just stood by the water dispenser, silent.
"Chris," Shrine said slowly after a long pause. She held Chris' wrist, raised her head slightly, and pointed to the back door with her eyes. "I have something to tell you."
Chris nodded immediately, and followed Shrine to the back door. The noon sun was scorching hot. Shrine raised a hand to shield the sun, squinted his eyes, and whispered to Chris, "How long have you been investigating?"
Chris's brow, which was already furrowed from the direct sunlight, tightened even more.He stared at Shrine.I didn't know how to speak for a moment.Because he was still completely clueless about the series of cases, he could not provide her with any useful information at all.
Shrine waited for a while, seeing that Chris was just standing where he was, with no intention of answering at all.Sighing slightly, he said calmly: "Well, maybe you won't tell me. But it's okay, as far as I understand, he seems to have acquiesced."
"Albert?" Chris was clearly surprised.
"Yeah." Shrine nodded. "Besides, I already have some clues. According to my own method, it shouldn't be a problem."
"What clue?" Chris asked curiously.
"I found a central area, these cases may be related to that place." Shrine pondered.
"What is that..." Chris' eyes lit up.But he was interrupted in the middle of his speech.
"Shrine," an all-too-familiar voice came from behind, "what are you doing here?"
"Come out to breathe, Captain. To be honest, we've been dazzled by these cases." Shrine held his forehead, "We haven't discussed the outcome yet."
"They have something for you." Then, Wesker didn't say anything, just took Shrine away.
"I'll tell you later." Shrine yelled back, and left, leaving Chris alone at the door.He folded his arms against the door frame, watching Shrine's back. "Where is it going to be?"
"My God! What are you doing?"
