Chapter 53 Rumors

"What!" Ron asked in shock, the quill in his hand was thrown out.

"Keep your voice down." Seamus Finnigan looked around, "I heard this from Lavender and Parvati when I was in class today, and they were sitting behind me."

"Me and Hermione?" Ron stared at Seamus incredulously, "How is this possible?"

How is that possible, Harry thought, with the two of you still politely bickering over Hermione and Krum going to the ball.

"I just heard about it," Seamus said, "but they said it seemed like the whole school said that, so I came to ask you."

Ron looked at Hermione at the other end of the common room. She was writing her thesis seriously, with a strand of hair hanging down in front of her.She pinned her hair behind her ears impatiently.

"So it's just a rumour?" Seamus asked. "Aren't you a couple?"

Ron shook his head violently, but his face turned red involuntarily.

Seamus: "I think she was pretty on the day of the ball. If she hadn't been Miss Know-It-All, I would have gone after her."

"What's wrong with Miss Know-It-All?" Ron asked subconsciously.

"It's stressful." Seamus shrugged.

Ron was very disapproving of this, and Harry couldn't help but feel sorry for his friend: "But she's really smart, isn't she?"

"But she's so sharp," Seamus said, "that it makes people worry about her going on a date and asking what she learned in class today."

Ron and Harry laughed because Hermione could really do such a thing.

"In short, I just came to ask the truth of the matter, but in the eyes of the girls, you and Hermione are already a couple." Seamus looked at Ron and said.

Ron touched his nose uncomfortably, but said nothing.

But Harry noticed afterwards that Ron was always looking absently in Hermione's direction.

After a while Ron said, "Brother, what do you think...?"

"What?" Harry looked at him blankly.

Ron stammered, "What do you think of Hermione?"

"Very well," replied Harry, "smart, brave, and helped us out of danger countless times."

"Then do you think I really...?" he asked again.

"You what?" Harry asked.

"I really..." Ron whispered the next few words: "Is it possible to like her?"

Then, before Harry could answer, he resumed his normal voice and said, "You think that's just a rumor, too, don't you? It's just that people are so bored after the dance, so that's why there are rumors like this."

"Actually, I think it's quite possible." Harry punctured Ron's fantasy, "Don't you feel it yourself?"

"How can I feel!" Ron's voice was very loud, and the students who were close to him looked over, which made Ron's voice suddenly quiet again: "You don't really think that I... Hermione ..."

He stared nervously at Harry.

Harry felt that Ron was stupid now, and he refused to believe the facts were right in front of him.

"What doubts do you have, brother?" he asked Ron. "Didn't the dance teach you something?"

"What revelation? Don't invite a partner too late?"

"Krum! Think of Krum!" said Harry resignedly. "Have you forgotten how much you used to like Krum? You gave Krum's model the arm after only one night of the dance." Break it off."

"That's because..." Ron tried to retort, "Because Krum came to her to possibly find out the secret of the golden egg, and Hermione is so smart that she knows everything."

"I wish Hermione could hear you," Harry muttered under his breath.

Ron sat dazed for a while longer.

"Harry," he asked, "how did you find out you liked Cho?"

Harry paused, struggling for a while between helping his good buddy to recognize the reality and concealing the stupid things he had done, and finally chose to help Ron recognize the reality.

"Do you remember the day Sirius gave her the Firebolt?"

"Of course, that's a Firebolt."

"That day she acted...to be particularly enthusiastic about Sirius..."

Ron suddenly became excited: "Then you're jealous, aren't you?"

Harry punched Ron: "I'm here to help you, Ron."

"Okay okay. Then?" Ron pressed.

"Then Sirius saw it and told me," Harry replied succinctly.

Ron: "So Sirius told you you liked Cho, and you found out."

Harry nodded.

"But how do I know if I like... Hermione?" Ron said distressedly.

Harry: "You're jealous because of Krum."

Ron reiterated: "I'm just annoyed that he wanted her as a foreign aid. You know what else you can tell if you like someone?"

Harry thought for a while with his only emotional intelligence, and decided to find his foreign aid.

"Judging whether you like someone?" Qiu heard Harry talk about feelings for the first time, and felt very fresh.

The two of them were sitting in a corner of the library out of sight of Mrs. Pince, having their weekly appointments.

"Yes," said Harry, "you heard about Ron and Hermione too, didn't you?"

She nodded, in fact, this matter still spread from her.

Harry: "Ron wanted to find out whether he liked Hermione or not after hearing about it. He asked me how to judge whether I liked someone, but I didn't know, so I came to ask you."

Qiu: "Then how do you know you like me?"

Here it goes again, Harry has to recount his embarrassing jealousy.

He described the experience of that day in as few words as possible.

"I didn't expect Sirius to enlighten you." She kept laughing, "I'm still curious how you suddenly understood."

"The question now is Ron," said Harry, "how do you know if he likes Hermione?"

Qiu: "It's actually very simple to judge whether you like a girl or not. I remember a saying that if a girl has plump breasts, but you still only want to look into her eyes, then it must be love."

"Then what if..." Harry was about to ask what to do if the girl's breasts were not plump, but she was caught by a look that drifted over, so he didn't dare to ask any more.

"Ron's emotional intelligence is about the same as yours, Harry," she shook her head, "just like you were in third year."

Harry wisely knew this was not the time to retort.

Cho: "For friends like Ron and Hermione who have known each other for many years, they are already too familiar. You just ask Ron to replace Krum with a Hogwarts student, such as Cedric, or Roger Davies, just let him imagine if he would be offended if Hermione went to the dance with them. Or let him imagine Hermione going out with someone else."

Harry nodded, and went back to search for information. The date of the game is approaching day by day, but he has not made any progress.

Ron also subconsciously asked after hearing Harry's answer from the foreign aid: "What if the breasts are not plump?"

"Then imagine Hermione dating Cedric," Harry replied.

Ron sat there frowning and thinking for a while, his expression changing, and finally he breathed a sigh of relief.

"I think I might really like...Hermione a little bit," he said, his face turning the same color as his hair.

"Then what should I do next?"

"I can give you this book." Harry took out his "Twelve Ways to Bewitch Witches".

"Oh, yes, this book, I seem to have only read Chapter 7 at the time, and then I was on summer vacation." Ron took the book, "Is it really useful?"

Harry recalled his experience in the third and fourth grades: "It still feels a little useful."

Ron: "How did you get Cho to be your girlfriend?"

Harry rubbed his chin: "It succeeded very smoothly, I don't know. Maybe she liked me before?"

"Come on, buddy," Ron rolled his eyes, "you can't act like everything is easy here just because you're successful."

"But I really don't know why," Harry said, "I just went to the prom with her, and then..."

"And then there was the kiss, and then she was your girlfriend," Ron added. "Before that, how did you do it? Like how did you ask her out?"

Harry thought for a while: "I asked her if I could go to Hogsmeade together, and she said yes."

Ron scratched his head: "Is there anything else?"

Harry: "She and I watched each other's Patronus together, learned potions together, did homework together, played Quidditch together..."

Ron: "We've been doing homework and potions together since the first grade. I don't know the Patronus Charm yet. If I ask Hermione to play Quidditch...forget it, she still doesn't know how. Call the Ronsky feint a chicken-stealing fake."

"Then you study with her," Harry suggested. "Do your homework with her and ask her questions."

"But then I would be a fool who doesn't know much about anything in front of her." Ron said hesitantly.

"I studied potions with Qiu in the third grade, and she corrected my mistakes." Harry said indifferently.

Ron: "That's because you've never lost to her at Quidditch, you're pretty good at it."

Harry: "But didn't you realize that from first grade to now, you're the only one who can make Hermione laugh often?"

"Is there?" Ron asked suspiciously. "I just think we're the ones who fight the most."

Harry: "You're always the funniest of the three of us."

Ron thought for a moment, then said dejectedly, "What's the use of thinking about it now? Hermione's having a hot fight with Krum..."

He pronounced Krum's name indignantly, put Twelve Ways to Charm Witches under a pile of textbooks, and went on to his herbal treatise.

The author has something to say:

Ron is just an ordinary boy in the book, why was he hacked so badly...
