HP through the autumn

Chapter 96 The Adventure of July

The basement of Hogwarts.

Despite the sunlight pouring down through the gaps in the clouds outside the castle, the room was still as cold and damp as ever.Snape's critical eyes scanned the rows of potions in his collection, picking out a few bottles from time to time and putting them into a small pocket bag.The modest pouch in his hand looked like it could only hold one bottle of potion, but he had already put more than 20 bottles in it in a row.

The flames in the fireplace suddenly turned green, and a tall figure stepped out from inside.

"Severus, are you ready?" Dumbledore came out of the fireplace in a dark blue casual suit, his brand new leather shoes gleaming on his feet.

"I don't think we're going to a dance." Snape looked him over.

"Yes, but it's good to change your style once in a while." Dumbledore stroked his beard happily. "Aren't you tired of wearing black robes all the time, Severus?"

Snape didn't answer, he carefully checked the potions in the pocket pouch to make sure that there were no useful potions missing.

"Let's go," he said to Dumbledore.

"Take my arm, Severus." Dumbledore nodded, extended an arm to Snape, and looked at him with a smile, "I'll take you to Apparate there."

Snape glanced at him indifferently, grabbed his arm stiffly, and the two of them spun around on the spot before disappearing.

Dumbledore and Snape appeared on top of a hill, while in the valley, between two steep slopes, the church and graveyard were clearly visible. The bushes on the mountain are lush and lush, the branches and leaves are tangled together and knotted, and unknown birds are singing in the depths of the bushes.

They descended the mountain road and turned right into a narrow dirt road before entering the village. The bushes had grown taller, blocking out the bright July sun and casting dark shadows on the potholed dirt road. The cold, damp air enveloped the two of them, and the steamy air seemed to be blocked by the bushes.

"Don't be so serious, Severus," Dumbledore said lightly, reaching out to push a branch in front of him. "Think of this journey as a summer outing."

Snape gripped his wand tightly, walking with one foot deep and one foot shallow: "An outing that could endanger life at any time?"

Dumbledore: "At least for now we're safe."

"What's so important?" Snape asked.

"I'm afraid I can't tell you just yet, the less people know about it the better," said Dumbledore, his tone suddenly serious, "and you must make sure that Voldemort doesn't know that I brought you here Here, it's crucial."

Snape didn't continue talking.

They stopped in front of a dilapidated house. The tiles were scattered around the house, dark green moss surrounded the exterior walls of the entire house, and the dusty windows were dark, making it difficult to see the inside of the house.Thick nettles took over the yard, and tall nettles grew up to the window openings.

"Meet you again," Dumbledore said to the dead snake nailed to the door, knocking on the front door of the house with his wand.

The door of the house creaked open, and the thick dust on the door fell down.

"You follow me, Severus," Dumbledore ordered. "Voldemort must have set up a lot of obstacles in the house."

Snape followed silently, looking around vigilantly.

The entire room was dusty, and as far as the eye could see, everything was covered in dust, and it looked no different from other ordinary rooms that had been left unused for many years.

Dumbledore didn't rush into the room to look around, he stood at the door, his sharp eyes looked around the whole room, from the ceiling to the floor, he looked carefully, not letting go of any dust.

His eyes stayed on the two closed doors for a while, and then turned his eyes to the fireplace: "It seems that it should be here."

Snape frowned slightly: "But the magic on that door..."

"Yes, there are traces of magic on that door," said Dumbledore. "It is a very subtle magic, and it takes some work to open the door. Voldemort wants to use this magic to confuse people who come here." , let them spend their time opening that door. But I'm sure there must be a deadly trap behind the door. He wouldn't want to keep the Horcrux in Merope Gaunt's room, Voldemort looked down on her, even Full of contempt for her, in his eyes she is a useless squib."

"And here," Dumbledore looked towards the fireplace, "although Voldemort tried his best to hide it, magic always leaves traces."

"You wait at the door first." Dumbledore walked towards the middle of the room, as if he was walking in the field, his leather shoes left footprints on the dusty ground.

He stopped at a point in the center of the room, gazing silently at the grubby fireplace not far away.Suddenly, Dumbledore raised his wand and tapped it lightly in the void.

A white flame rose from the fireplace, looking gentle and pure, without any threat.

"So it is," whispered Dumbledore, waving his wand again.

The white flame disappeared into the fireplace, and in the depths of the fireplace, a door that did not exist before slowly opened.

"Come here, Severus." He motioned to Snape. "Although there are only a few madmen left in the Gaunt family, madmen sometimes have some brains."

Dumbledore and Snape walked down the stairs behind the door in silence. They had walked for a long time, and seemed to have gone down a mile, but the spiral downward stairs still did not come to an end.

In the darkness, only the light at the top of the wand illuminates their way down.

Every once in a while, they will face three stairs leading to different places, and the end of each staircase is boundless darkness.Dumbledore's footsteps never stopped, he walked easily and comfortably, and he didn't seem to worry about which road to choose at all.

At the No.13 fork in the road, Snape finally couldn't help asking: "How do you know which road to choose?"

"I thought you would remain silent," said Dumbledore. "I believe you must have heard some whispering voices, and it was these voices that guided me."

Snape: "I thought it was the sound of the animals that live here."

"It was indeed the sound of an animal, but it was not made by an animal, but by a spell," said Dumbledore. "The Gaunts are proud of their Parseltongue, and they think it is the descendant of Slytherin." No one can imitate the unique talent of human beings. This kind of pride, or arrogance makes them refuse to believe that after training, talented wizards can also understand Parseltongue, and even use Parseltongue to talk to snakes. Of course Well, there's still a difference between these wizards and a natural Parseltongue."

They stopped at last at an ancient gate with serpentine ornaments wrapped around the handle.

Dumbledore: "It looks like we've arrived."

He reached out and grabbed the door handle under Snape's surprised eyes, and gently pushed the door open.

The opened door brought up a large cloud of dust, which was flying around under the faint light of the tip of the wand. They waited quietly for the dust to disperse. "You are waiting for me at the door." Dumbledore lit up the whole room with magic, and his expression became a little dignified. "If there is any abnormality in my behavior, you must stop me in time."

"Stop you?" Snape raised his eyebrows, "How? Stunning you with a Stunning Curse?"

"I don't mind if you stun me with the Stunning Charm if necessary." Dumbledore looked at his brand new suit, "I hope I don't get my new clothes dirty when I pass out."

Snape was silent again.

The summer wind carried heat waves through the grass on the hillside, brushing the girl's long hair like a golden waterfall.

"Can't you really wait a few more years?" She begged, "Take me with you after I graduate from Hogwarts, brother, my good brother."

The tall and slender boy helplessly let his sister pull his robe, and seemed to be used to this kind of situation.

"Stop pestering your brother." Their mother came over, "You've been pestering him all summer."

"A whole summer vacation!" Another boy behind them said dissatisfiedly. He had exactly the same blue eyes as the girl's brother. "She has always liked me more than my brother."

"Maybe it's because I promised to bring her a gift," the boy who was let go by the girl said with a smile, "I will remember to bring you a gift too."

The boy snorted softly, hesitated for a while, and then said awkwardly, "I wish you a safe journey."

"It seems that the gift is really attractive." The boy sighed, which drew a dissatisfied glance from the boy.

"There are also presents from your father and me, don't forget." Mom said, "You must pay attention to safety when traveling abroad."

"Don't worry, Mom." The boy said, "Where's Dad?"

"Still rummaging through his collection at home," my mother shook her head helplessly, "he can't wait to give you all the useful things. Just now he asked me, 'Do you remember where you put the hat that can resist evil spells? ?'”

"I heard someone discussing me behind my back," a fat middle-aged man walked out of a house not far away, holding a package in his hand, and looked at the boy with a proud expression on his face, "I Guess you didn't have this—"

He dug out some clothes from the package and showed them to the children: "Muggle clothes! Although their clothes are very strange, it's better to wear Muggle clothes when traveling."

He took out a white shirt, and the complicated lace hung on his chest like a bunch of violets, and it swayed slightly with the shaking of the man, like a bouquet blown by the wind.

The boy let out a snort of laughter, gloating at his brother.

"I will bring these clothes." The boy put the package into his luggage without changing his expression.

"We'll take you here," Mom said. "Have a nice trip, and remember to write to us often."

"Remember to come back early, brother." The girl said goodbye to him reluctantly.

After smiling and hugging his parents, younger siblings, he turned and walked towards the other side of the hillside.

When he came under the huge beech on the top of the mountain, he couldn't help but look back in the direction of home. His family members were still standing there, watching him go away.

"Finally the farewell is over?" A blond boy jumped down from the tree, like a big golden bird flying down from the top of the tree.

"Yes," the auburn-haired boy replied in a good-natured manner, as if he hadn't heard the resentment in the blond boy's tone. "Have you been waiting long, Gellert?"

"Not long," the blond boy muttered, "let's go, I've been looking forward to this day for a long time."

He pulled up the boy with auburn hair and walked towards the distance. The conversation between the two disappeared in the wind: "Where do you want to go first? Egypt or..."

Put on this ring...

The girl's laughter echoed in his ears: "When will Albus come back?"

"He's only been away for a week!" Aberforth tugged at the grass on the ground dissatisfied.

Several white goats surrounded them, gnawing grass leisurely.

Wear it and everything can come true...

"This looks so spectacular!" Gellert exclaimed looking at the tall pyramid, "I can't wait to go inside and explore."

He turned his head and waved to the boy behind him, his smile was as dazzling as his brilliant blond hair: "Come here, Albus."

Against the backdrop of the sand dunes, the towering pyramids stand silently in the distance.

Why not wear it?

"I became St. Mungo's healer!" Ariana proudly announced the news to her family, "Spell damage department! But I hope you don't have a chance to find me there."

Her words made the family laugh, and the logs in the fireplace crackled as they burned.

"Dumbledore!"

put it on...

"Maybe Muggles do have a purpose for their existence, even though they don't have magic." In the busy New York subway, Gellert looked at the surrounding environment, and whispered in Albus's ear. "I'm starting to agree with you now."

"Dumbledore!"

Everything in front of his eyes disappeared, his hands were tightly held, and an extremely ugly black gemstone ring appeared in front of him.

He took a breath that sounded like a sigh.

"Thank you, Severus."
