The Admiral of Hogwarts

#379 - Confrontation

Apparently, the Headmaster hadn't made Hugo and the others' actions yesterday public, so everything was normal at breakfast the next morning. It wasn't until they were about to go to class that Professor McGonagall hurried over.

"Mr. Liang, Miss Veneto. Headmaster Dumbledore needs to speak with you." Professor McGonagall said with a serious expression. "I've already excused you from Professor Sprout's class."

Hearing Professor McGonagall's words, Hugo and Veneto exchanged a glance, both seeing worry in each other's eyes. Then, together, they followed Professor McGonagall towards the Headmaster's office.

Professor McGonagall didn't say anything along the way, but from her tightly pursed lips and hurried footsteps, it was clear that this wasn't good news for the two of them.

"Creamy Chocolate Caramel Bar." Professor McGonagall called out the password to the gargoyle in front of the Headmaster's office. The gargoyle jumped aside, revealing the spiraling staircase inside.

Pushing open the door adorned with a griffin knocker, they could see that Harry Potter and Professor Snape were also in the Headmaster's office besides Professor Dumbledore.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, the three people in the room all looked towards the entrance. Seeing Hugo and Hermione enter, Snape immediately excused himself and left.

"Thank you, Minerva." Headmaster Dumbledore nodded to Professor McGonagall, then looked at Hugo and Hermione. "The main reason I've called you here today is to ask you to provide a copy of your memories."

"I apologize, as this practice is considered quite insulting in the wizarding world, but the Ministry of Magic insists that a Legilimens extract that part of your memory to ensure that what you're saying is true."

"Of course, you are free to refuse this practice. Because unless the individual is confirmed to be a criminal, this method of obtaining evidence is only permitted under voluntary circumstances, especially for underage wizards."

"Headmaster Dumbledore, will this practice harm our brains?" After the Headmaster finished speaking, Hugo looked at him and asked seriously. "I've heard that this type of mental magic can damage the brain, or even the soul."

"No, of course not." Professor Dumbledore shook his head and said. "Normal Legilimency will not harm the subject. The reason this magic is strictly controlled is because no one wants to reveal their memories to others."

"Moreover, when the Legilimens from the Ministry of Magic examines the memories, they will try to only look at the memories they want, and only occasionally glance at other memories."

"If that's the case, then we are willing to accept their examination." Veneto said at this time, "However, we need to ensure the safety of this process."

"Rest assured." Headmaster Dumbledore said with a smile. "I have already discussed it with the Ministry of Magic. They will send personnel to perform the memory extraction here, and I will be present throughout the entire process."

So, five minutes later, an Auror and a Legilimens in black robes entered the Headmaster's office through the Floo Network, and after greeting the Headmaster, immediately began their work.

The effect of Legilimency is to penetrate into the depths of another person's memory and read their memories, but when facing the Admiral Network, they were easily deceived by the false memories fabricated by Hugo and the others.

In fact, when they returned to Hogwarts from southern Germany yesterday, the ship girls quickly weaved an impeccable false memory and transmitted it to Hugo through the Admiral Network.

This memory was originally only intended to deal with Professor Dumbledore, but as a result, they discovered that even Dumbledore, with the Elder Wand, could not break through the mental defenses of the Admiral Network.

Therefore, yesterday was a very important day for Hugo and the ship girls, because they faced two of the top wizards in the wizarding world in one day.

Judging from these two encounters, both Dumbledore and Voldemort are indeed very powerful, but this power is quantifiable, has a limit, and can be offset by the numerical advantage of the ship girls.

In other words, after a long four years of accumulation, Hugo has finally organized a powerful force with his ship girls that can achieve his goals in this war.

"Thank you very much for your cooperation." After reviewing Hugo and the others' memories, the Legilimens stood up, used his wand to draw a semi-transparent thread from his temple, put it into a glass bottle, and said.

Then, he turned to Headmaster Dumbledore's position, bowed, and said: "We have completed the evidence collection. Thank you for your cooperation. The Minister said he will come to meet with you this afternoon."

"Very well, please tell Minister Fudge that I will be waiting for him at Hogwarts Castle all day today. He only needs to notify me in advance before he comes." Professor Dumbledore nodded slightly to the other party, then signaled them to leave.

"What exactly is the situation now?" When Hugo and the others left the Headmaster's office, Hugo contacted Enterprise through the Admiral Network as soon as possible. "What was the result of your discussion last night?"

"The Headmaster has decided to temporarily take a step back and not insist on informing Minister Fudge of the truth, in order to get the Ministry of Magic into a state of readiness as soon as possible through this method." Enterprise quickly replied with the result of yesterday's discussion.

Hugo was first surprised by the Headmaster's choice, but quickly became relieved. After all, Dumbledore was someone who could shout 'For the Greater Good' when he was young, so he didn't shy away from using some other means to achieve his goals.

However, later in the afternoon, Hugo and the others received some not-so-good news from Enterprise through the Admiral Network:

"Things are developing towards the worst-case scenario. After lunch, Headmaster Dumbledore called Fudge out for half an hour, but he still refused to admit that Voldemort had returned."

"Moreover, Minister Fudge also accused the Headmaster of making rash conclusions based solely on the words of a child. And believes that Dumbledore is determined to create a sense of panic, destroying everything he and the magical world have painstakingly built over the past thirteen years!"

"Didn't the Headmaster show Harry's memories to Fudge?" Hermione suddenly asked, "I think those memories can completely corroborate Harry's words."

Hermione didn't mention anything about Richelieu or Saint George who were present at the time. After becoming a ship girl, she would naturally stand on the ship girl's side to think about problems, so naturally she would not expose the two ship girls who were still on the scene.

"This plan is completely unfeasible because the Headmaster refuses to allow a Legilimens to perform Legilimency on Harry." Enterprise said with a hint of mockery in her tone, "Professor Dumbledore is watching over the prophesied savior much more closely than everyone thinks."

"Then there's no way." Hugo sighed. "What the Headmaster wants to do now is to get the Ministry of Magic into a state of war, but this should actually be within the scope of the Minister of Magic's responsibilities."

"In other words, Dumbledore's behavior does look like a power grab, because this matter falls under the management of the Ministry of Magic. Dumbledore is only the Headmaster of Hogwarts, and no matter how famous he is, he should not interfere in the affairs of Fudge's Ministry of Magic."

Enterprise added to Hugo and his sister.

"In this situation, the two sides naturally broke down in talks. Fortunately, the Headmaster can be considered a pragmatist and took a step back, so the two sides still saved some face in the end, so that they wouldn't completely part ways."
