The Admiral of Hogwarts
#445 - Treatment and planning
Umbridge's grand inspections severely impacted the normal operations of the school's various student organizations, mainly because she mixed too much personal bias into her reviews and blatantly displayed her animosity towards Dumbledore.
For example, this morning during Potions class, Draco Malfoy stood outside Snape's classroom, waving a parchment that looked like an official document and loudly proclaiming,
"That's right, Umbridge is letting the Slytherin Quidditch team continue. I asked her first thing this morning. Hey, it was practically automatic."
"Let me tell you, she and my father are very close. My father is always in and out of the Ministry of Magic, so we definitely won't have any problems. But whether Gryffindor can continue is another matter, isn't it?"
Saying this, he saw Harry and his group and deliberately provoked them. "When it comes to influencing the Ministry, I don't think they have a chance, do they? My dad says the Ministry has been looking for a reason to get rid of Arthur Weasley for years."
"As for Potter—my dad says it's only a matter of time before the Ministry sends him to St. Mungo's. They obviously have a special ward for people whose brains have been damaged by magic—"
This last sentence clearly provoked Neville, so Neville charged directly at Malfoy, intending to punch him. Fortunately, Harry reacted in time and held Neville back tightly, preventing the situation from escalating.
"It seems Umbridge isn't even willing to hide her animosity towards Dumbledore and everything related to him," Hugo said to Harry that evening as they gathered to do homework.
"Although I don't know what the Headmaster is thinking, he probably won't retaliate anytime soon. In this situation, you guys are definitely going to suffer recently."
"He's already suffered. He got punished for talking back to that toad," Ginny said irritably, then, ignoring Harry's protests, rolled up his sleeve, revealing the bloodied words that had begun to heal on the back of his hand.
"She's even using dark magic. It seems Umbridge is really trying to find something on Dumbledore," Hugo immediately used his wand to gently touch the wound on Harry's hand while Mrs. Pince wasn't paying attention. Sure enough, a streak of crimson light emerged from the wound.
It seemed that Umbridge represented Fudge's orders, because only an order of that magnitude could make a political animal like Umbridge dare to take such a risk and use such a blatantly illegal method to torment Harry.
"Do you guys have any way to heal this wound?" Ginny asked softly. "This wound keeps throbbing, and we've tried many methods, but we can't get it to heal."
"Dark magic isn't as easy to dispel as you think, so conventional methods can only relieve the pain at best," Hugo said, switching to a different spell. "Who used Murtlap essence?"
"I did," Ginny said softly. "Because the potion book says that filtered and acid-washed Murtlap essence can heal magical wounds—did I do something wrong?"
"No, of course not. It's just that using Murtlap essence alone can leave some traces of dark magic behind," Hugo shook his head and said, "If you're willing, I can help you heal it."
Soon, they packed up and went to an empty classroom, then watched as Hugo used various alchemical powders he carried with him to draw a magic circle on the floor.
"Is there anything we need to do?" Ron asked softly from the side, watching Hugo kneel on the ground, sweating as he drew the pattern.
"A piece of bloody raw meat, no less than five pounds, any animal will do, but it has to be a whole piece," Hugo said, looking up after hearing Ron's question. "If not, then ten Galleons."
"Don't worry, I know where the kitchen is," Ron's face showed difficulty when he first heard about five pounds of bloody meat, but when he heard about ten Galleons, he immediately jumped up from the stool and rushed out of the room. "I'll be right back."
Ten minutes later, when Ron walked in carrying a large piece of bloody meat with a rope, he saw Hugo putting Harry's injured hand on the table.
"You're back, that's great," Venito thanked at this time, while stepping forward to take the meat, and carefully placed it in the center of the magic circle on the ground.
Seeing that all the preparations were ready, Hugo took out his wand and began to draw rune after rune in the air above the two magic circles. Soon, Ginny noticed that the bloodied words on Harry's hand began to gradually fade.
"This is simply amazing—" Ginny's eyes widened, because she had used various spells before out of concern for Harry, including some inherited family magic from the Weasleys, but they could only provide temporary relief.
"The main thing is that the other party used a very obscure dark magic alchemical tool. If you don't master the trick, it's difficult to remove the evil aura inside," Hugo explained with a smile.
As the wound on Harry's hand gradually healed, wisps of black mist gradually floated from the back of his hand into the large magic circle on the ground, then gradually permeated into the piece of meat.
When the wound on Harry's hand had completely healed, Ginny and the others were surprised to see that the piece of meat that had been placed next to it had turned into a brownish jerky, similar to a mummy, while emitting a strange stench.
"Okay, now the dark magic residue on Harry's hand has been transferred over here," Hugo nodded in satisfaction after looking at Harry's hand, which had completely returned to its original state. "Just throw this piece of meat away later."
"Thank you so much," Harry's face lit up with a smile after touching the location of the original wound with his other hand, and he sincerely thanked Hugo.
Recently, he had been feeling some pain in his scar because of Voldemort's resurrection, and the pain in his hand was making him even more upset, so he was so happy this time that Hugo had helped him heal the pain in his hand.
"It's nothing. If I can help in this regard, I will naturally lend a hand," Hugo smiled. "By the way, is your Defense Association organizing smoothly recently?"
"It's going well. I checked the place you mentioned before, and the situation is very good," Harry nodded in satisfaction. "I think we should be able to hold the Defense Association under Umbridge's nose next."
"—Then I wish you all the best," Hugo wanted to remind him to be careful because Umbridge had also climbed up from the bottom of the Ministry of Magic step by step, so she would definitely try to find a weak link among their participants and launch an attack.
But later, he just gave a blessing, because he realized that the Defense Association was something that Harry had worked hard to create, and pouring cold water on him at this time probably wouldn't get through to Harry at all.
So, after thinking about it, he simply said a blessing, to avoid leaving Harry with the impression that he was bossing him around.
"Of course, we definitely won't have any problems this time," Harry looked full of confidence. "We thought there would only be one empty classroom available, but we didn't expect that we already have everything we need, so our Defense Association will definitely be able to proceed smoothly."
