The Bard at Hogwarts

Chapter 6 I didn't say I wouldn't pay

Ollivander's Wand Shop.

In the small room, there was an old man with silver hair. He seemed to be trapped in some kind of self-structured world at the moment, talking to himself and talking to himself. The scene was a bit strange for a time.

Looking at the scene in front of him, Ino had no choice but to remind: "Sir! If possible, I still want to get my own wand as soon as possible."

Looking outside through the window, I found that there were already people waiting at the door of the store. Perhaps out of basic etiquette, they did not push the door rashly and enter.

"Ha, sorry kid! That's fine."

Apparently Ollivander also saw the guests waiting outside the door. Without any delay, he immediately started the measurement process that had been interrupted just now.

First from shoulders to fingertips, then from wrists to elbows, shoulders to the floor, and even took the time to measure Ino's head circumference.

The enchanted tape measure kept going up and down. When everything was ready, Ollivander turned and stared at Ino's amber pupils for a long time, and said tentatively:

"Let's try this one, elderberry phoenix feather, 12 inches long and fairly flexible. It was the most active when you were telling a story just now, so I think you will be compatible."

A very beautiful wand, Ino's first impression.

Different from other common elder trees, the raised joints on the stick in front of you are not that obvious. Instead, they are scattered one by one. From a distance, they look like white gems inlaid on the stick.

Although he acknowledged the beauty of the wand, he didn't quite believe Ollivander's introduction, and he extremely suspected that the other party was just an excuse for a sudden thought after hearing the story.

You must know that although this world has magic, it... is limited to magic. Those weird things in fairy tales and folklore probably don't work here.

Having said that, Ino still took the wand carefully. You must know that whether it is a phoenix feather or an elder tree, they are extremely special existences in magic.

It feels delicate and smooth...and seems to have a touch of warmth.

But that's not the point.

Because he clearly saw that the moment he held the wand, the tip of the wand glowed with emerald green fluorescence, and then a white six-petaled elder flower bloomed.

How to put it this way, it was different from Harry's jingling and jumping when he picked the wand, he looked like an energetic naughty child.

The elder wand in his hand is like a shy girl expressing her thoughts implicitly and reservedly.

"Awesome!" Ollivander said excitedly.

The sudden sound startled Ino, and when he recovered, the blooming flowers on the wand quietly disappeared.

"I knew you two were compatible. It was really... when it was listening to the story just now, it was... um, very happy."

The initiator of the whole thing, Ollivander, was still preaching his ideas, talking like a chatterbox.

"Here we go again..." Ino couldn't help but rolled his eyes.

He admitted that this wand really fit him, holding it in his hand was like a long-lost friend, with a faint sense of familiarity.

But if you really want to talk about autonomous consciousness, character intelligence, etc., I'm sorry... I really don't have any feeling.

Seeing the other party's eloquent attitude, Ino had no choice but to use his ultimate move.

"Yeah! You're right! Since it is happy, does this prove that I can take it away for free?"

Ollivander: "Uh..."

This was the first time he encountered this statement in the decades since he inherited the store, and Ollivander was stunned for a moment.

"Ahem! That's not the case... I mean, the bond just means that the wand has found the right owner, not that it is taken away for free."

As if he was afraid of hearing another shocking reason, before Ino could react this time, Ollivander said without missing a beat:

"Seven galleons sincerely! Remember, this is the first price, take good care of it."

"Okay, okay! I didn't say I wouldn't give you money..." Seeing the other person's wary eyes, Ino opened the money bag speechlessly.

Walking out of the wand shop, I felt a sense of satisfaction for no apparent reason.

Owning a real magic wand was something he had never dared to think about. Now that the dream has come true, that kind of happiness from the heart fills the whole body.

"Happiness is so simple..."

After two lifetimes of experience, he knows very well that people's happiness is not because of how comfortable and rich life is. The fundamental reason for happiness is that there is always hope in life.

Just like the two years of wandering, even if he had no fixed place to live and slept in the open, he always believed that he could take advantage of the opportunity of the fantasy world to live a more exciting life.

Therefore, simple bridge openings and cheap food have even become embellishments in life.

at the same time.

After Ino bought the wand, she walked calmly on the cobblestone streets, and the strange feeling she felt when she first arrived in Diagon Alley disappeared.

"After all, he is a person with a magic wand..."

Thinking of this, I wandered all the way to my second stop, the legendary Flourishes and Blotts Bookstore.

As for second-hand books, he wouldn't consider them at all. Learning magic is not reading fairy tales, and it doesn't hurt to doodle on missing pages.

Learning this kind of thing is related to settling down in the future, so you can't be careless.

Even after receiving the grant, he already had plans.

Everything can be used cheaply second-hand, but wands and books must be bought new no matter what.

In fact, if you look closely, the 20 Galleons given by Hogwarts is not a random amount. Because this money is just enough to buy everything, of course... except for the owl.

South side of Diagon Alley.

A shop that is completely different from the wand shop is quietly located on the street. The brand new plaque and the wide door alone have already explained the business situation here.

Flourish and Blotts Bookstore, whether in appearance rate or popularity, can be ranked in the top five in the original book.

When you walk into the store, you will always be attracted by a light and profound atmosphere. The air also exudes a pleasant oak smell and the unique light ink fragrance of books.

On the shelf at the door, there are two poor magical ornamental plants, which add a lot of vitality to the old-fashioned bookstore.

The store is a little dim.

But fortunately, the weather is clear, and the afternoon sun shines through the old window lattices of the bookstore, jumping on rows of bookshelves.

And this scattered sunlight just allows people to see the books on the shelves clearly.

"Welcome to Flourish and Blotts. Do you need to buy Hogwarts textbooks? First grade? Second grade? There are a complete set of textbooks packaged over there. Or do you need to buy a single book? Textbooks are all here, and other books are on the bookshelf in the back."

The bookstore manager is a greasy and fat middle-aged man, and his slightly sunken deep eye sockets show that he is not a native of England.

He introduced to Ino while pointing to the two rows of bookshelves in front. Perhaps textbooks are hot sellers during the summer vacation, so they are placed in the most conspicuous place in the center of the bookstore.

"Okay, sir! I need a complete set of Hogwarts first grade textbooks."

Ino followed the other party's finger and looked at the bookshelf in the front.

"A History of Magic", "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", "Standard Spells. Primary, Secondary, Third, Fourth Grade...", "Thousands of Magical Herbs and Fungi", "Magic Potions and Potion", "Dark Magic: A Guide to Self-Defense"...

Hundreds and thousands of brand new books are neatly stacked together, which looks particularly spectacular.
