Wen Shan wanted to leave but Nalan Chunbo would not let her, so she could only move to the living room to read the script.

The interview with Mu Qi had finished and the news was playing.

Wen Shan looked up absently, feeling unsettled by the news of Mu Qi’s return. The old bitterness and hatred she held for Mu Qi was starting to resurface.

Wen Shan glanced at the kitchen. Nalan Chunbo was not the rugged type like Dong Feng. Why would Mu Qi be attracted to someone like him?

She was not stupid though, she knew Nalan Chunbo was serious towards her.

She knew Nalan Chunbo quite well, and she was sure he would not like someone like Mu Qi.

The more Wen Shan thought about it, the more reassured she felt.

Wen Shan had been subtly observing him. Nalan Chunbo realized it the first time she did it, he just did not expose her.

Nalan Chunbo tidied up after finishing his meal then went to the living room.

Wen Shan was reading quite slowly and had only looked through 2 pages. She needed to justify the calculations correctly.

“I’ll send you to Le Tian’s after you finish packing.” Nalan Chunbo glanced at her briefly. Wen Shan had not written many formulas. He used to think that Wen Shan was just loud with no substance, but now he knew that she was quite bright academically.

He had just never noticed it before.

Wen Shan wanted to take the script along but Nalan Chunbo shook his head.

“It’s still confidential. You can come here anytime to read,” Nalan Chunbo told her smoothly.

Wen Shan blinked at him.

Why did it feel like this old fox had purposely planned it like this?

It was not like she would show it to others, she had signed the confidentiality agreement after all.

It felt like Nalan Chunbo had done this on purpose because he wanted her to come to his place.

How had nobody noticed how sinister this person could be?

Nalan Chunbo had done it on purpose. How else would he get her to come to his place willingly?

Both had thoughts in their hearts but neither would initiate a conversation. After all, they were still not clear on their relationship status so neither would make a move to talk about it.

Nalan Chunbo knew where Le Tian stayed so he did not need directions from Wen Shan. He drove to Le Tian’s place and stopped outside it.

Wen Shan opened the door and got out. Nalan Chunbo did not turn off the engine as he had to rush to the school.

“Wen Shan,” Nalan Chunbo suddenly called out.

Wen Shan turned and looked at the person in the car quizzically.

Nalan Chunbo stared at her, pursed his lips, then finally said, “Nothing, please go in.”

Wen Shan frowned.

What game was he trying to play?

Nalan Chunbo was not trying to play her. He did not know what it was like to fall in love, and always felt like he was someone who lacked sentimentality. It was only as he was approaching 40 that he finally had his heart moved.

So his feelings for Wen Shan were something he could hardly comprehend intellectually. He could not figure it out.

1Wen Shan stifled her curiosity and went into the apartment corridor. Nalan Chunbo watched her for a while then left in his car. He had to go to school for a meeting. There was still the matter of Professor Yin’s resignation to settle.

Wen Shan adjusted her backpack as she reached Le Tian’s front door. She had only just pressed the doorbell when the elevator opened again. Wen Shan looked at the lady who had just come out, stunned.

Mu Qi was wearing very high heels, but she was still not as tall as Wen Shan.

“Wen Shan, long time no see,” Mu Qi said cheerfully, reaching out to hold Wen Shan’s arm.
