#152 - Campsite
The Craftsman was lavishly praising the laser gun in his hand, but Yang Le was inwardly skeptical.
It seemed that the years of living in the apocalypse had made this inventor somewhat extreme.
“I just had this idea at the time, but I didn’t expect it to actually work.” The Craftsman grinned, and with the gun in his hand, he looked all the more terrifying.
“Although I feel bad for Scott, he wanted to bite me to death back then, so I think we’re even.”
‘Cutting up materials to make weapons, Monster Hunter, huh?’ Yang Le muttered inwardly.
“Mr. Craftsman.” Franklin walked over from the side and took out a blood-soaked bag from his backpack.
“These are materials I collected from other X-Men, see what weapons you can make.”
Franklin didn't open the bag, but it wasn't hard to guess that these materials of his came from the X-Men who had been defeated by Yang Le.
The Craftsman didn't show any scruples, and took the bag with his mechanical arm. He frowned when he opened it, but not because he was disgusted.
“I can’t even tell who these belong to anymore. I have to go back and check them again, and identify their owners. Little Fu, do you know who they came from?”
“I know.” Franklin nodded.
“These hands should be from Havok, this hand is Storm's, those skins are Colossus's, and I didn’t take the rest because they were too fragmented.”
“But I'm just guessing based on the battle suits, after all, the corpses are too fragmented and difficult to identify.”
At this moment, Yang Le, the instigator of everything, spoke up.
“Franklin is right, there's also the Juggernaut who was smashed to pieces by me, Petra whose upper body was blown away, and Beast who was carbonized, these were all the people who besieged me just now.”
“Looks like you're not simple either.” The Craftsman narrowed his eyes, his expression serious.
“Those people aren't just ordinary folks. Being able to defeat all of them, even if they're not as strong as before, is no easy feat. This shows…”
“Shows what?” Yang Le asked.
“Shows that we have a powerful helper.” The Craftsman's expression changed, and he grinned again.
“This way, I can implement my plan.”
“Plan? What plan?” Peter asked from the side, obviously unaware.
“Let's go back first, this isn't the place to talk.” The Craftsman didn't answer immediately, turning to signal everyone to follow.
“Moonstone and Quoi must be getting anxious.”
Seeing the Craftsman say this, Peter had no choice but to suppress his questions and follow the Craftsman's footsteps.
There was no conversation along the way, mainly because Peter and the Craftsman both had things on their minds, so no one was insensitive enough to disturb them at this time.
Soon, Yang Le followed Peter and the others to the sanctuary, an unremarkable camp consisting of several tents, with a tall blonde woman standing in the camp.
“We're back, Karla.” The Craftsman greeted, pointing to Yang Le behind him.
“This is Yang Le, the one Peter mentioned in the communicator. This guy is amazing, he actually took down Storm and the others all by himself.”
“Hello, Karla.” Yang Le greeted.
“Welcome.” Karla nodded towards Yang Le, then ignored him, appearing very cold.
“Don't take it to heart.” The Craftsman nudged Yang Le with his elbow.
“Karla is just like that. Actually, she's very happy to have you as an ally, after all, we really lack your level of combat power.”
“Don't worry, I know.” Yang Le wasn't petty. After all, in this environment, it would be good if you weren't crazy. Being cold is too normal.
Peter walked over, obviously preoccupied with the plan the Craftsman had mentioned earlier, but as soon as he wanted to speak, he was interrupted by the Craftsman.
“Don't worry, Peter, we have plenty of time. You can take our new friend to get acquainted first. I need to process these newly acquired materials. If I don't process them, they might spoil. Maybe I can make some nasty weapons.”
The Craftsman shook the bag in his hand, and without giving Peter a chance to speak, he walked towards his tent.
Peter wanted to open his mouth several times, but finally closed it helplessly. Yang Le silently moved closer to him at this time.
“Want to give him a punch?”
Peter nodded subconsciously, then came back to his senses and looked at Yang Le beside him.
“No need to explain, I understand that feeling.” Yang Le said through gritted teeth.
Riddle-makers, who wouldn't want to punch them when they see them? Yang Le hated people who only spoke halfway or spoke ambiguously the most.
“Let's not talk about that for now.” Peter awkwardly changed the subject, afraid that if he continued, he really wouldn't be able to resist punching the Craftsman.
“I'll take you to see the camp.” Peter suggested. Saying it was a camp, it was actually just three tents around a campfire, and the campfire was extinguished at this time.
“Oh right, do you have a tent?” Peter suddenly thought of.
“If you don't have a tent, you can only squeeze into one with the Craftsman.”
“Then I advise you to sleep outside.” Franklin walked over and squeezed into the conversation.
“After all, not everyone can stand the Craftsman's weird ideas. He might be tinkering with those corpses until very late.”
Yang Le imagined the scene: he was sleeping, and next to him an Indian was tinkering with corpses and human skin. What a hellish joke, just thinking about it gave him goosebumps.
“Of course, if you can't stand it, you can switch with me.” Peter said, but from his expression, you could tell that he couldn't stand it either, he was just worried and decided to endure it himself.
“No need, I have my own way.” Yang Le said. Seeing Peter's expression change from cloudy to clear, you could tell that he was very happy that Yang Le could say that.
In fact, Yang Le didn't bring a tent, but he had an alien hero who could handle the situation.
With a flash of white light, a gorilla whose body was composed of red, blue, and yellow, and whose appearance looked like it was assembled from building blocks, replaced Yang Le and appeared in front of Peter and the others.
“Blocky Ape.”
Yang Le pounded his chest with his fists, just like a real gorilla.
“Cool!” Franklin's eyes lit up, and Valeria and Karla were also attracted.
“I remember your ability was to turn into a crystalline form?” Valeria asked in confusion.
“No one said I can only have one ability.” Yang Le blinked, then walked to the empty space next to him.
Yang Le put his hands close to the ground, and his hands began to stretch continuously, surrounding him in front of him into a square five meters long and five meters wide, and then began to stack higher and higher.
Finally, in the eyes of everyone, some excited, some shocked, a block house made entirely of building blocks appeared in front of everyone.
“I told you I could handle it.”
Yang Le smiled and retracted his hands.
