#165 - Radiation Source
Franklin and Valeria were squatting in front of Vulcan's body, tinkering with something, while Yang Le was in charge of guarding them.
The twins didn't keep Yang Le waiting for too long and quickly returned to his side. Judging from their excited expressions, they must have gained a lot.
"Looks like you guys brought back good news," Yang Le said with his arms crossed.
"Of course," Valeria proudly puffed out her chest.
"So, now can you tell me about your plan?" Yang Le ignored Valeria and looked at Franklin, who was the initiator of the plan.
"Vulcan wasn't infected on Earth. I suspect he might have had direct contact with Galactus, so I wanted to find clues on his body. I found it."
Franklin swallowed and showed the device to Yang Le.
"Sure enough, I found a clue on his body. His body is emitting a kind of radiation that doesn't exist on Earth,"
Valeria continued.
"We can use these radiation samples to search for radiation signals on Earth, and then track it. Such a large radiation source must be as conspicuous as a lighthouse in the dark."
Yang Le glanced at the device in Franklin's hand and said.
"I hope your idea is right."
Yang Le looked at the horizon and noticed that it was slightly bright, estimating that it would be dawn soon.
"Let's go, it's time for us to hit the road."
Yang Le waved his hand and took the lead towards Nana. Seeing this, the Miracle Twins quickly packed up and followed.
Seeing its master return, the Sentinel robot Nana squatted down and placed the three of them on its back. After the three of them were steady, it flew into the sky.
Franklin was busy synchronizing the search device with Nana, and Valeria was fiddling with her pile of equipment.
Yang Le stood on Nana's shoulder, looking down at a forest. With his superhuman vision, he easily spotted the lurker hiding there.
Even though his skin color was difficult to spot in the dim forest.
"Shhh~" The lurker whistled. Seeing Yang Le's gaze, he knew he was exposed. He didn't hide and directly met Yang Le's eyes.
But it was only for a moment, after all, Nana was flying fast and quickly left the area.
"How interesting." The lurker grinned, revealing a mouth full of white teeth. He originally just heard a lot of noise and wanted to come and see, but he didn't expect to see something so interesting.
He had some impression of those two children. They seemed to be the children of Mr. Fantastic. As for the strangely shaped burly man, he didn't recognize him at all.
It seemed that they weren't zombies, otherwise they would have pounced on him when they saw him again. He just didn't know what their purpose was.
The lurker twirled his sword and slowly sheathed it on his back.
"Hopefully that corpse can give me answers."
The lurker murmured, looking at Vulcan's corpse in the distance.
"Want to sit for a while?"
Valeria's voice came. Yang Le turned his head. The genius girl was looking at him boredly, forming a sharp contrast with the busy Franklin.
"Why aren't you fiddling with your pile of things?"
Yang Le walked a few steps to Valeria's side. He knew that he was currently on the flying Nana, and unlike the twins, he didn't have any protective measures and completely ignored the laws of physics.
"I already checked it all."
Valeria propped up her chin.
"Why haven't I seen you make a weapon like the Artisan?" Yang Le asked.
"Do you think that thing is so easy to get?" Valeria rolled her eyes at Yang Le.
"Those materials must be obtained from transcendent zombies. Killing them and obtaining intact materials is extremely difficult. Only the Artisan has two of those weapons."
"Didn't I provide you with a bunch of materials?" Yang Le asked in confusion.
"Those haven't been made into weapons yet."
Valeria twirled her hair boredly.
"Those things are all in the Artisan's laboratory, and there's no chance to take them out. If we encounter enemies, we can only rely on you and my broken gun."
Valeria picked up the rifle hanging on her backpack. It wasn't quite the same as the rifles on the market. It was obvious that she had assembled it herself.
"There's no way, the materials are too few and too poor. This thing can only deal with ordinary zombies. It can't even break the defense of stronger ones."
Valeria sighed, obviously feeling helpless that her talents couldn't be used.
Yang Le felt that Valeria was right. Although X-Kree could handle most enemies, it would undoubtedly be safer for them to have weapons in their hands as well.
After figuring this out, Yang Le said to Valeria.
"Open my backpack and take a look."
"What? Is there some treasure inside?"
The latest novel is first published at Six Nine Book Bar!
Valeria turned around. Yang Le's backpack was initially tied next to Valeria, and she could touch it with a reach.
Valeria unzipped the zipper. The first thing she saw wasn't clothes or supplies, but two guns.
The styles of these two guns were very strange. Judging from the shape, they should be pistols, but they were too big, at least for humans.
Valeria pulled out one of the guns. The shape of the gun was very simple, but it was very awkward to hold. Valeria could barely pull the trigger with one palm.
"Is this a gun?" Valeria asked.
"What else could it be?" Yang Le looked at Valeria in confusion.
"It's nothing, it's just a little, uh..." Valeria thought for a while and said.
"It's just a little special, is it for me?"
"Of course, I'm giving it to you," Yang Le nodded.
"It just so happens that you and Franklin each have one."
These two guns were the weapons Yang Le made for Four Arms. There should have been four, but there was no way the backpack could only hold two. He used the remaining space to store life energy supplements.
As for why he brought two guns, it was just for emergencies. He didn't expect them to come in handy.
"Thank you," Valeria said without raising her head, carefully looking at the gun in her hand.
"Can I modify it? After all, this thing doesn't fit my hand very well."
"No problem, I told you I'm giving it to you," Yang Le nodded, agreeing to Valeria's request.
"Thank you." Valeria took out some equipment from her backpack and actually started modifying it on the open-air aircraft.
Looking at Valeria, who was focused on modifying the gun, just when Yang Le thought he had no one to talk to, Franklin took over his sister's spot.
"Phew~ Finally done." Even though the wind had long blown it away, Franklin habitually wiped his sweat.
"How is it? Is everything going smoothly?" Yang Le asked.
"Of course, the instrument has already detected a radiation source," Franklin said with a smile. In his opinion, the closer to the radiation source, the closer to the source of the incident.
But Yang Le felt that he was a little blindly optimistic.
