#168 - Solving Franklin's Problem
"Could it be...the time Franklin lost consciousness?" Valeria guessed in her heart, asking her brother.
Franklin was still shocked by the changes in his body and didn't hear what his sister said. It wasn't until Valeria nudged him with the gun handle that he reacted.
"Oh! Oh!" Franklin covered his head. Valeria's gun butt had pushed his eyeballs out of their sockets. Each eyeball was connected to many wires, making him look as comical as an American cartoon character from the last century.
This frightened Franklin and Valeria. The twins' minds hadn't switched over, and the sudden influx of information temporarily slowed their brains. The twins screamed and frantically tried to push Franklin's eyeballs back into their sockets.
"Settle down, kids." Yang Le couldn't help but facepalm.
"Franklin is no longer human. No wonder he can't use his powers."
"We may need a long time to adjust." Franklin looked at his mechanical arm, and Valeria nodded in agreement.
"Now, let's continue our previous topic." Yang Le brought the topic back on track.
"Little Va said you lost consciousness? What happened?"
"We're not very clear about the specifics." Valeria recalled.
"When the zombie crisis first broke out, we were escaping in a flying vehicle with Uncle Peter. Then, Uncle Jonathan, who had turned into a zombie, attacked us and shot down our vehicle. Then I lost consciousness."
After Valeria finished speaking, she looked at Franklin, her meaning self-evident.
Franklin immediately understood and continued his sister's story.
"After Uncle Jonathan shot us down, my mom and dad...the Fantastic Four, who had turned into zombies, surrounded us. They grabbed me, wanting to infect me. Uncle Peter tried desperately to stop them, but he was outnumbered, and then I lost consciousness."
"It seems they might have succeeded." Yang Le connected all the information and came to a hypothesis.
"Franklin was definitely infected. Somehow, you managed to take back the infected you, and then Peter found a warlock who created a mechanical body for you and then used some method to transfer your soul into this new body."
"That should be right." Franklin nodded. Despite his calm demeanor, he was just forcing himself to adapt.
There was nothing he could do, so he could only accept it.
Valeria leaned against Nana's body, grabbing her hair.
"So that means Franklin can't recover his powers."
Franklin also reacted, opened his mouth, and sat down on the ground in disappointment.
He had originally placed his hopes on his superpowers, hoping that one day he could recover his superpowers and save his parents.
However, it seemed there was no way now. His body had turned into steel, so how could he use superpowers generated by the X-factor?
Seeing the depressed siblings, Yang Le didn't speak immediately. He touched his chin, making a creaking sound from the metal rubbing, and suddenly, he thought of a solution.
"Actually, it's not impossible."
Yang Le's words were like heavenly music to the siblings at this moment. They immediately looked up and said in unison.
"What way!"
"I just have a guess." Yang Le said.
"I'll tell you my thoughts first, and then you can think about whether it's feasible. After all, you're smarter than me."
"Speak." Valeria swallowed. She even started praying to the gods in her heart, although the gods in Marvel had never responded to her.
"Techarchy can simulate normal humans, but they can't simulate biological fluids, which is the main reason you lost your powers."
Franklin and Valeria nodded, understanding what Yang Le said.
"And I can transform into an alien that can mimic all sorts of things, including all sorts of liquids."
"That means!" Valeria interrupted Yang Le, excitedly.
"You can simulate Franklin's X-factor, allowing him to use his superpowers?"
"That's roughly the idea." Yang Le nodded.
"Then, can you help me recover my superpowers?" Franklin looked at Yang Le tentatively. Based on Yang Le's previous performance, he wasn't sure if Yang Le would help him one hundred percent.
"Of course." Yang Le nodded.
"But I have a condition."
"Oh, of course." Franklin wasn't disappointed by Yang Le's condition. He thought it was normal. He wasn't the kind of brat who thought everything was his due.
Franklin was about to say something, but his sister pulled him back.
The latest novel is first published at Six Nine Book Bar!
"What is the condition?" Valeria was much more composed. She needed to hear the condition before continuing the discussion.
"It's nothing. I just want to form a team and would like to invite you to join, like your parents."
This idea was because Yang Le felt a bit stretched. Although he could rely on clones, top-tier characters like Franklin and Valeria weren't always available.
Not to mention, Yang Le now held their lifeline. He had the right timing, the right place, and the right people. If he didn't seize this opportunity now, when would he?
This was practically a freebie.
"As you can see, I have the ability to travel through the multiverse. I've already used this ability to save about three universes and am now saving the fourth, which is your universe."
"You've also seen that I'm not lying, and I won't restrict you too much. You just need to follow my commands and come to help when I need you."
"Give us some time."
Franklin and Valeria's expressions changed constantly, obviously thinking about the pros and cons. Yang Le wasn't in a hurry and quietly waited for their answer.
"Okay." Franklin nodded solemnly.
"We agree."
This was the result of their discussion. Everything would have to wait until Franklin recovered his powers. Right now, despite Yang Le talking to them, they had no bargaining chips.
Besides, only by recovering their powers could they save everyone and protect their parents.
"Okay." Yang Le nodded.
"Then let's begin."
After speaking, a white light flashed, and Yang Le transformed into a new alien again.
The newly transformed alien was different from the tough Techarchy. Instead, it was a pool of flowing liquid, a purple body covered in white circuit boards.
It was a new fused alien.
