#183 - The universe of 65B is not peaceful

"Settle down, kids."

Yang Le reminded the Amazing Twins, their laughter being quite loud and impactful in the confined space.

"Sorry," Franklin said with a smile, getting up and leaning closer to Yang Le.

"It's just that it's our first time escaping Mom's lectures."

"It's so exciting," Valeria patted Franklin's back.

"Alright, quickly sit down," Yang Le urged. "We're going to accelerate."

With that, he placed both hands on the steering wheel and began to increase speed.

"Whoa!" Before Franklin could sit back down, the sudden acceleration caused him to fall backward, colliding with Valeria.

"Ouch!" Valeria exclaimed in pain, rubbing her head and speaking with resentment.

"Looks like someone can't wait to see his girlfriend."

"That's right," Yang Le admitted frankly, not feeling there was anything to be ashamed of; it wasn't like they were filming a youth drama.

"Tsk." Valeria clicked her tongue in annoyance, failing to disgust Yang Le.

"I'm quite curious who your girlfriend is," Franklin adjusted his seating position, trying to give Valeria more space.

"Gwen Stacy," Yang Le said his girlfriend's name, surprising the twins.

"Stacy?" Valeria exclaimed.

"Isn't that Uncle Peter's girlfriend? You like someone so much older than you?"

"The timelines are different in different universes," Yang Le explained.

"In that universe, Peter and Gwen are just high school students."

"I see," Valeria stroked her chin.

"So you like someone younger than you?"

"I don't have so many constraints," Yang Le said. "It just so happens that I like her."

"Ew!" the twins said in unison.

"Stop 'ewing'," Yang Le manipulated the control panel for a moment.

"We're here."

With Yang Le's words, the Time Gyro passed through a polygonal light, and then they left the bizarre and fantastical space-time tunnel, arriving in...

Universe 65B.

This time, Yang Le specifically set the coordinates to the secret base at the bottom of the sea. The Gyro's hatch opened, and Yang Le looked around at the familiar scene, a strange feeling welling up in his heart.

"Home," Yang Le supported himself with his hand and jumped out of the Gyro.

"It hasn't changed much since I left."

"This is your home?" Franklin also jumped out of the Gyro. "I thought it would have a bit more of a lived-in feel."

"And this equipment is too outdated," Valeria walked to a piece of equipment, her face full of disdain.

"It's my first base after all, the equipment is indeed a bit outdated," Yang Le explained.

"Putting that aside, I'm going out for a bit. Are you coming with me, or staying here?"

"We're not going to be a third wheel," Valeria waved her hand, rejecting Yang Le's suggestion.

"We'll stay here and upgrade your equipment for you," Franklin picked up a piece of equipment to the side, inspecting it without looking up.

"Alright then," Yang Le shrugged, not forcing the issue. It was better this way, saving him the trouble of explaining their origins.

"The door is over there if you want to go out, though with Franklin here, I doubt you'll need it."

Yang Le walked to the portal, waving goodbye to the two of them, but neither paid him any attention.

In a flash of white light, Yang Le returned to his apartment, which he hadn't seen in over half a year.

"Inhale! Cough, cough!!"

Yang Le took a deep breath, wanting to savor Gwen's scent. Don't get the wrong idea; Yang Le wasn't a pervert, he just wanted to smell Gwen's perfume after several months apart.

Unfortunately, Yang Le only inhaled a nose full of dust, coughing for quite a while before recovering.

Wiping away the tears from his eyes, Yang Le calmed down and realized that the furniture was covered in a layer of dust, indicating that it hadn't been cleaned in a long time.

Yang Le frowned. This dust couldn't have accumulated in just a week or two; it had been at least a month.

Could it be that Gwen was really angry because he left without saying goodbye, so she didn't come here?

Yang Le walked out of the apartment with these thoughts, heading towards Gwen's house. Since he had bought a house nearby, it didn't take long for Yang Le to reach his destination.

Quickly going upstairs, Yang Le relied on his memory to arrive at the Stacy's front door. He had confirmed on the way that today was Sunday, Gwen shouldn't be at school, so Yang Le thought he'd try his luck at her house first.

"Knock! Knock! Knock!"

Yang Le lowered his knocking right hand. It had been months since he last saw her, making him a little excited now.

However, Yang Le waited for a while, but no one came to open the door, not even a sound, obviously no one was home.

Helpless, Yang Le ran to the Parker's house to knock on the door. This time, someone finally answered.

"Who is it?" It was Aunt May's voice.

"It's me, Happy, Aunt May," Yang Le replied softly.

Accompanied by a burst of hurried footsteps, the door was opened, and Aunt May appeared in front of Yang Le.

"It really is Happy," Aunt May covered her mouth in disbelief.

"It's me, Aunt May, I'm back," Yang Le first replied gently, then asked seriously.

"What's wrong, Aunt May, you don't look too good."

Compared to half a year ago, Aunt May looked much older. This shouldn't be caused by normal aging.

"A lot has happened since you left," Aunt May sighed, stepping aside to invite Yang Le in.

"Come in, child, this isn't the place to talk."

Yang Le walked into the room. The Parker's house hadn't changed much, still about the same as when he left.

"Sit down, child," Aunt May beckoned Yang Le to sit down in the chair at the dining room.

"I don't think you want anything to drink, just want to know what happened, so I won't prepare anything."

"Yes, Aunt May," Yang Le pulled out a chair and sat down, his tone tinged with urgency.

"What exactly happened, Aunt May? I went to our apartment just now and found that no one had lived there for a long time. I went to knock on the Stacy's door, but no one responded."

"It's a long story," Aunt May sighed, recounting the events that had occurred in the half year since Yang Le left.

Originally, no one knew what had happened at first, only that Gwen had returned to her own home after disappearing, and was very angry when she returned. Later, they learned that it was because Yang Le had left without saying goodbye.

Gwen didn't say why Yang Le left without saying goodbye. Seeing that she was so angry, everyone didn't ask in detail, preparing to wait for Gwen to calm down before asking in detail.

But before Gwen calmed down, they waited for an uninvited guest.

A pair of siblings wearing red coats, they broke the original peace.

"They came out of a door that appeared out of thin air, right in front of us," Aunt May buried her face in her hands.
