#493 - A nimble dog in the mountains

Just as Susan was losing all hope, the sound of something large, like a dog, running came from not far away. In the blink of an eye, an orange, unknown beast darted out of nowhere and pounced directly onto the giant's back.

Once its sharp claws had dug into the giant's flesh and it had steadied itself, the super-powered beast opened its bloody maw and bit down on the giant's neck. Its fangs, as sharp as swords, sank in as easily as cutting tofu. Scalding-hot blood with a green glow immediately gushed out, pouring straight into the super-powered beast's throat.

This green blood, with its excessive radiation, was a poison that most creatures would avoid at all costs. But for the super-powered beast, it wasn't just palatable; it was a feast.

After all, the super-powered beasts of Vapimanser lived on Vapin, a heavily polluted planet. Not only were the skies and lands tainted, but even the flowing water was colored. This meant that the creatures living there had developed some degree of resistance.

But that still wasn't enough for them to live on the surface of Vapin because the pollution there was too severe. Almost no creature could survive on the surface for long. All species on Vapin had to compromise for survival, choosing to live underground where it was slightly safer.

So, a certain amount of poison or radiation was acceptable to the super-powered beast. It was like bull penis and other similar things; your body can adapt, but your mind might not accept it.

Yang Le was feeling the same way. When he came back to his senses, he was already biting down. This was all thanks to the super-powered beast's hunting instincts, which had led him to taste fresh radiation.

Clean and hygienic, brothers.

“Aowu!”

The giant roared in pain, his hands reaching frantically for the super-powered beast on his back. By this point, his back had been torn to shreds by the super-powered beast's claws. Green blood covered the super-powered beast, making it look like something out of a sanitized biological documentary.

Although the giant reached back, he couldn't catch the agile super-powered beast. This was because he didn't need to see with his eyes; he could combine his excellent senses and integrate the information they provided in his brain, forming a 3D image unrestricted by perspective.

This meant that the super-powered beast could obtain all nearby information almost simultaneously, without missing anything. This was why the Vapimanser beasts were so agile; they could fully utilize the surrounding terrain to display their physical advantages.

Just as the giant was trying every possible way to grab the beast on his back, the latter clawed dozens more wounds into his back, some so deep they exposed bone.

The giant was both anxious and angry. Helpless, he moved away from the flower shop's entrance, backing towards a wall. Sensing the giant's intention, the super-powered beast immediately abandoned him and jumped towards the wall.

Its sharp claws hooked into the wall, and the super-powered beast ran across it as if it were flat ground. Finally free of the beast, the giant roared in fury, leaping high into the air to grab the beast clinging to the wall.

“Bang!”

The giant crashed heavily into the building. The super-powered beast, however, relied on its agility to dodge the attack. The giant, missing his target, didn't give up. Unlike the beast running on the wall, he charged through the building.

The giant didn't need to avoid walls or obstacles; he relied on his powerful body to break through them head-on, chasing the beast outside like a bulldozer. He even smashed through walls from time to time, reaching out to grab the beast.

Thanks to the efforts of these two demolition experts, the already precarious building was now in even greater danger. Reed didn't dare miss this opportunity and quickly called Susan over. He took care of Ben, and Susan took care of Johnny. Together, the couple carried the two out of the flower shop.

“We have to get out of here.” Reed didn't know how many times he had said something similar today, but it was indeed the most important thing they needed to do now. Susan nodded. Their mission was back to finding transportation.

Before, Johnny could at least walk, but now that Ben had also passed out, they had no choice but to find a car. No one here could carry Ben's massive body.

Similar to Reed and the others in their predicament, Yang Le was also feeling overwhelmed. The super-powered beast's strength was simply insufficient to deal with the enemy in front of him. After a brief exchange, Yang Le had equated him with the Hulk.

“Rumble!”

The building beneath his feet began to tilt. Under the devastation of Yang Le and the giant, the building finally couldn't hold on any longer and began to collapse towards the ground. Taking advantage of the building's collapse, Yang Le jumped towards another building. Seeing his target escape, the giant also jumped out of the building, reaching out to grab Yang Le in mid-air.

The giant's speed was undoubtedly faster than the super-powered beast's. The reason Yang Le had been able to entangle with him for so long was due to his excellent senses and agile body, but these were undoubtedly useless in the empty air.

Seeing the giant's hand getting closer and closer, Yang Le didn't need to worry. The Omnitrix automatically activated its protection function, and Yang Le's body changed in the dazzling white light.

The white light blinded the giant. When the annoying light dissipated, a creature he had never seen before replaced the irritating beast.

The newly appeared creature looked bizarre. The exposed skin on his body was a deep purple. On his anvil-shaped head were four white eyes, distributed in the front, back, left, and right directions.

His body was a standard inverted triangle shape. Underneath the white bodysuit, one could clearly see the bulging muscles. More strange than his muscle distribution, which was different from humans, were his limbs.

His arms looked extremely intimidating. He didn't have forearms like a human but instead possessed a pair of conical black carapaces. Embedded on the outside of the carapace were three milky-white V-shaped crystals. His legs were relatively short compared to his arms but were also conical like his arms.

On the sides of his body, neck, and thighs, there were also V-shaped milky-white crystals like those on his arms.

The giant's already limited brain briefly stalled when he saw his opponent transform. Before he could figure out what was going on, the suddenly appearing creature attacked him.

One of his arms' white crystals suddenly detached, turning into three rectangular panels of the same size. At the same time, his conical forearm also changed. Not only did the gap where the crystal panel had been stored close, but the originally hard cone also became as soft as an octopus tentacle.

In the next instant, the opponent lashed out at the giant with his soft tentacles.
