#546 - Return to the Cinematic Universe
Although Valeria verbally expressed her dislike for Yang Le, she decided to stay and help. However, she needed to return to Universe 982, the universe of Spider-Woman Mayday Parker, to inform her brother Franklin.
Even though Franklin was deeply in love with Mayday, he might not care about his stepsister's whereabouts. Nevertheless, Valeria needed to retrieve her office supplies and inform him, which seemed reasonable.
According to Valeria, after months of persistence, Franklin finally won Mayday over. Franklin's methods were indeed effective, and he even healed Mayday's father, Peter Parker's, broken leg.
Franklin even created a new identity in Universe 982 and started several companies, seemingly intending to stay permanently. This made Valeria, who was initially worried about him, feel redundant.
As a result, Valeria had long considered moving elsewhere. Although the Parker family treated her well, she found her brother increasingly annoying due to her own unsuccessful relationship.
Franklin was constantly lovey-dovey with Mayday, flaunting their relationship like a peacock (in Valeria's opinion).
However, returning to her original universe felt like a shameful retreat. Knowing that Yang Le had gone to a new universe, Valeria was embarrassed to ask him for help. This situation felt like a timely solution, although she only outwardly expressed happiness.
After saying goodbye to Valeria, Yang Le was pondering how to arrange things for Frank when the latter also requested to leave.
Don't misunderstand, Frank wasn't backing out; he simply needed to return to handle the aftermath. He needed to take care of his family and the affairs of the other 41 families. The research wouldn't start immediately, so he wanted to use this time to settle his personal matters first.
After declining Yang Le's offer of help, Frank turned and left. Yang Le looked around and realized that the once lively environment was now empty except for him.
Reluctantly dismissing his clones, Yang Le prepared to go home. He had been so busy that he hadn't had time for a hot meal. When hungry, one craves home-cooked food the most, so Yang Le decided to buy groceries and cook himself a meal.
Therefore, he naturally called Gwen, intending to ask her what dishes she wanted so he could prepare in advance. However, he received an order not to return home.
Just kidding, although the meaning was similar, Gwen's tone wasn't so forceful, and she had a legitimate reason, not just unreasonable demands.
Gwen said:
Gwen: "I brought Kitty back to our place."
Yang Le: "What? Did her family abandon her?"
Not long ago, during the giant riot in New York, Kitty awakened her mutant abilities, becoming Shadowcat Kitty, possibly due to the danger or being hit by a Sentinel's bomb.
It's important to know that mutants don't have a good reputation in Universe 9527. The extent to which everyone shouts and beats them even exceeds Qiyana. The only thing more detestable than a mutant is...
That is the mutant Qiyana.
So, when Kitty learned that she had awakened her mutant abilities, her first thought wasn't to become a superhero but to panic and nearly collapse. Fortunately, Gwen found her and revealed her identity as Spider-Woman.
Initially, upon seeing her friend, Kitty wanted to run away, but after seeing that Gwen wasn't an ordinary person either, she felt as if she had found a pillar of support and cried while hugging Gwen.
Then, the two of them phased into the ground together, and Gwen had to use brute force to break free because Kitty couldn't skillfully use her abilities; otherwise, she wouldn't have buried herself and Gwen.
After Gwen's encouragement, Kitty refused her offer and decided to find her parents first and explain everything to them. Gwen naturally supported her.
However, a day later, Kitty, who had been full of confidence, tearfully called Gwen. Gwen was curious about who was calling her from a public phone, but when she heard it was Kitty, she quickly asked what was wrong.
It turned out that Kitty had indeed been determined to find her parents, but after saying goodbye to Gwen, she realized that New York was gone, and she didn't know where to look. She didn't even know if they were safe.
She wanted to find Gwen, but her phone was broken, and New York didn't even have a good phone booth. Helpless, she could only find a map in a car and walk overnight to the nearest town to contact Gwen.
You ask why she didn't contact her parents? Of course, it wasn't because of the unlikely event of not knowing their phone number, but because after a night of wild thoughts, she chickened out again.
Helpless, Gwen had to take Kitty to their new home in Los Angeles to comfort her. Just then, Yang Le's phone call came.
"Of course not," Gwen sighed. Given this universe's attitude towards mutants, Gwen was also skeptical about Kitty's parents' attitude towards her becoming a mutant.
It's not uncommon for parents to abandon mutant children of a few years old, and news has reported many such cases. In such a society, the chances of Kitty's parents accepting her are really not high, which is why Kitty doesn't dare to find her parents.
However, Gwen certainly couldn't say that. She just objectively told Yang Le the situation, and the latter immediately understood.
"Oh, right, Hubie," Gwen hesitated after explaining.
"Could you help me and Kitty find another house? Kitty has nowhere to live now, and it's not very convenient for her to live with us."
Most ⊥ new ⊥ small ⊥ said ⊥ in ⊥ six ⊥ 9 ⊥⊥ book ⊥⊥ bar ⊥⊥ first ⊥ hair!
Yang Le understood. After all, he was a male with a definite gender, although he could turn into a Walmart shopping bag or an armed helicopter, this could not shake his gender, it was a bit inconvenient for Kitty to live in.
Yang Le then waved his hand, saying that Gwen and Kitty didn't need to move out; he would just find a place to live. After all, Gwen's luggage had already been moved in, and it would be too troublesome to move it out again.
As for himself, it would be easy; he could stay on the mutant island for a few days or just find any house.
At this moment, a small accident occurred.
Yang Le looked at his Omnitrix symbol. The symbol on it was constantly changing and began to flash white light.
Although Yang Le was unfamiliar with the Omnitrix's current mode, he knew what it was. It looked like the Omnitrix's alarm mode, which is usually used to remind the wearer of dangerous situations.
However, the little broken watch's alarm mode was somewhat different from that one because this was one of the new modes Yang Le added: Multiverse Communication.
