#55 - The targeted spider
"Their target should be some kind of experiment."
"Experiment?" Gwen looked at Yang Le in her palm, puzzled.
"Is it an experiment to turn people into lizard people?"
"If it were really that simple, that would be nice."
"If they were merely choosing Peter as a test subject for their potion, then this matter would be simply adorable, but my brain tells me things are clearly not that simple."
"I'm all ears," Gwen shrugged, preparing to watch Yang Le perform.
"The timing of them turning Peter into a lizard person is very interesting. If they were just testing their invention, they wouldn't need to wait for Peter to wake up, but they did wait. Why would they do that? It's very likely to expose their identity."
Yang Le's words made Gwen sink into thought. Indeed, doing so was too unreasonable.
"Is there a possibility that they deliberately left us reaction time?" Yang Le raised a finger, proposing a hypothesis.
"You're saying, they want us to discover Peter's disappearance?" Gwen looked at Yang Le in disbelief.
"But why would Cindy Moon do this?"
"This is what I'm going to talk about next, Gwen." Yang Le's expression was serious. Gwen didn't know how she could see seriousness on that frog face, but she just felt it.
"The other party might be coming for you."
Gwen was surprised: "Me? But why?"
"You're not just an ordinary little girl anymore, Spider-Woman." Yang Le pointed out Gwen's other identity.
Gwen asked: "My spider superpowers?"
"That's right." Yang Le nodded. "It seems the other party knows your true identity, and may have known it from the beginning."
"But how did she know?" Gwen scratched her head, suddenly had a flash of inspiration, and exclaimed.
"That spider that bit me?"
"That's right, maybe that spider was prepared by Cindy Moon for herself, and you were a lucky person who accidentally intercepted it."
This reminded Yang Le of the cultivation novels he used to read. Gwen was just like the protagonist who seized other people's luck without realizing it.
Gwen still didn't quite understand, and asked doubtfully: "But what does this have to do with the other party turning Peter into a lizard person?"
"Revenge, plus a little experiment." Yang Le liked this feeling of answering every question. His little brain was turning rapidly, and he could answer whatever Gwen asked.
"Let's assume the previous guesses are correct. If I were Cindy Moon, since what's done is done, I might as well make the most of it.
Let this lucky fellow be my experimental subject, and I will secretly observe and record everything, and the Lizard Man may be a stage test of her abilities for you.
As for choosing Peter, it may be to disgust you and vent her dissatisfaction, which can be described as killing two birds with one stone, and if she also tests the lizard potion by the way, that would be killing three birds with one stone."
"If that's really the case, I must teach her a lesson after I find her," Gwen said fiercely.
"I think her choice is very efficient, and I want to get to know her." Yang Le expressed a different opinion.
Gwen narrowed her eyes, suddenly flipped her palm, Yang Le's body turned upside down, and was about to fall to the ground, but Gwen grabbed his feet and hung him upside down in the air.
"Wow! What's wrong, Gwen?" Yang Le exclaimed.
"You might as well guess for yourself, genius, guess why I'm angry." After Gwen finished speaking, she gently shook her arm, and Yang Le swayed up and down, making bursts of screams.
"Omnitrix! Deactivate transformation! Deactivate transformation quickly!"
"Received."
After the ruthless electronic sound, white light flickered, and Yang Le turned back into a human again.
It's just that the posture hasn't changed, it's still upside down, but because of the height difference, he's tilting his head, making intimate contact with the ground.
"Sorry Gwen, I apologize for what I said just now." Because his cheek was against the ground, Yang Le's speech was a little vague.
"The species of Ben 10, the Galvans are too smart, they see things differently from us, so their EQ is relatively low, wow!"
Gwen suddenly let go, Yang Le was unprepared and fell to the ground.
"Understandable, but a little punishment is necessary, no objections, right?" Gwen folded her arms and said proudly.
"No objections." Yang Le raised his hand and made an OK gesture.
"So what are we going to do next?" Gwen walked to Yang Le and stretched out a hand to pull him up.
"Are we going to investigate the radiation spider company?"
"Of course we're going to investigate." Yang Le patted the dust off his body. "That's our only clue, and even if the other party wants to hide it, they can't."
——Dividing line——
Norman Osborn walked into an abandoned building with a gloomy face.
His trip was very low-key, not only disguised, but also drove an ordinary car that was not in his name, obviously not wanting people to know his whereabouts.
Walking into the building, he met the security guard on patrol, revealed his identity, and was led by the other party to an ordinary room, and walked in alone under the other party's gaze.
Entering the room, Norman skillfully came to a wardrobe, opened the cabinet door, and what was placed inside was not clothes, but a downward passage.
Without hesitation, Norman strode in.
After walking for about 3-4 minutes, he finally came to a rust-red iron gate, swiped his card on the access control next to the iron gate, opened the iron gate and walked in.
As soon as he entered the door, he saw the person he had been thinking about day and night. The person was standing in front of the experimental table with his back to him, busy with something.
"That's really rare." The person didn't even turn his head, but knew who the visitor was.
"I remember Mr. Norman, you were here not long ago."
"Then I don't need to say it, you also know the purpose of my visit, Cindy Moon." Norman's voice was low and hoarse, sounding like a devil's threat.
"Then you should also know my answer." Cindy Moon seemed not to understand the threat in Norman's tone.
"Bang!"
Norman kicked the table next to him, judging from his kicking posture, he should be an old hand.
Norman roared: "Cindy Moon! I believed in you so much, even beyond the initially agreed time, I still spared no effort to fund you, but this is how you repay me!"
"Don't be silly, Norman." Cindy finally turned her head, her delicate face full of disdain.
"We both take what we need, there is no such thing as knowing each other's kindness and other disgusting things, you give me money, I do things for you, even, you need me, and I don't have to choose you."
