#557 - Contact Base
"Are we really not going out to take a look?"
In the dormitory area of the Heavenly Craftsmen's underwater base, Steve looked worried, clearly, even with the soundproofing of the plumber's dormitory, the sounds of fighting outside could not fail to alarm them.
"Don't worry, Captain," Pu Ba comforted Steve and the others. "The Martian Hunter is one of our Heavenly Craftsmen's trump cards, he can handle thousands of troops alone."
As soon as he finished speaking, there were three soft knocks on the dormitory door. The Avengers immediately became alert, but Pu Ba still looked relaxed. He knew that the one on the other side of the door must be his clone, because this was the signal they had agreed upon.
As for whether it was an enemy impersonating him, Pu Ba simply didn't consider this possibility. The movie universe doesn't have any super villains who can solve the Martian Hunter without anyone noticing.
"It's me," a firm and steady voice came from outside the door, which was Yang Le's voice after transforming into a Martian.
"It's him," Mr. Pu Ba turned his head to stabilize Steve's emotions, and then shouted to himself outside the door.
"Come in."
As soon as he finished speaking, Steve and the others, who were wondering why Pu Ba didn't open the dormitory door, suddenly saw a green bald head emerge from the tightly sealed metal door.
"Let me introduce you, guys," Pu Ba gestured to the other self beside him. "This is one of our Heavenly Craftsmen's trump cards, codenamed Martian Hunter."
"Hello everyone," the Martian Hunter nodded. If you ignore the head dripping with blood in his hand and the battle blade in his other hand, even if his appearance is so special, many people would probably think he is a nice person.
"This is... Corvus Glaive's head!?" Falcon Sam, who had just woken up, looked at the head in the Martian Hunter's hand in surprise. Even the Martian Hunter's strange appearance seemed insignificant at this moment.
"More than that," Natasha's body trembled slightly. Although she tried to suppress her emotions, everyone could tell that she was not as calm as she appeared.
"That battle blade is also Corvus Glaive's weapon."
"This is the strongest of the invaders," the Martian Hunter slowly floated to a few people. "I think he should be an enemy general. I captured him, read all his thoughts, and then killed him."
"Please forgive my presumptuousness, I know he has a deep hatred with you, but in order to prevent him from having any backup plans, I can only do it for you."
"No need, Mr. Martian Hunter," Steve looked at the head and battle blade in admiration. The enemy he used to dream of killing is now really dead in front of him. For a time, multiple emotions impacted Steve's brain.
There was the joy of revenge, the annoyance of not being able to kill the enemy himself, and a more firm determination. These emotions eventually turned into a determination for the future. Steve felt as if his whole body was lighter.
"Thank you very much for the help you have provided to us."
That confident smile once again hung on the corner of Steve's mouth, just like the old Captain America had returned.
"Wanda and Suri will definitely like this gift," Sam patted his chest, the happy emotions almost overflowing from the corners of his mouth.
Who knew that as soon as he said this, Natasha's body stiffened, and then she said awkwardly: "That's really not certain..."
"Why do you say that, Natasha?" Steve turned his head in confusion. "Why wouldn't Wanda and Suri be happy to avenge Vision?"
Yang Le's eyes flickered. From the words, he learned that Wanda in the movie universe was still with Vision, and the one who broke them up was Corvus Glaive.
"Suri might be happy, but Wanda always wanted to avenge Vision herself," Natasha sighed. "Although she is a little afraid of going to the battlefield, she becomes a different person when she mentions Corvus Glaive, and her spirit is very unstable."
Yang Le suddenly realized that it was a unique mental disorder of mages and mind power users. This thing is not uncommon, and the Martian Hunter can cure it.
"Let's not talk about things that may not happen yet," Clint waved his hand. "This is good news, don't spoil the fun at this time, we must tell everyone in the shelter about this."
"That's right!" Sam looked excited. "It's been a long time since we had such good news. Everyone had a lifeless Christmas last time."
"Appropriate parties can boost morale," Steve said with a smile. "This is indeed good news to celebrate, even if it's shabby, we have to hold one."
Steve didn't mention anything about moving supplies at this time. When people were not there, they could move things around for survival, but now that the owners are back, they can't mess around.
He was going to find a chance to talk to Pu Ba again to see if he could borrow some supplies.
Who knew that Pu Ba seemed to see through his embarrassment. The former patted Steve on the shoulder lightly and said: "I can see that you are in trouble. This base will be given to you."
Yang Le was so generous for a reason. This base was originally built to steal various technologies for research. Now, giving it to Steve and the others is also considered paying tuition fees.
Besides, he may not need this place in the future, so it's better to make the best use of it. Yang Le has never been a stingy person, so naturally he doesn't feel reluctant.
"This..." Steve's eyes lit up at first, and then dimmed again. "Thank you for your generosity, but this place has been exposed and is no longer suitable as a base. We are already satisfied with some supplies."
"Who said we are still staying here," Pu Ba laughed, and then pointed to the Martian Hunter beside him in the confused eyes of Steve and others.
"The trump card will find a way to solve it."
The Martian Hunter did not decline, but nodded and said: "Leave it to me, you just need to contact the remaining companions to determine the meeting point."
Looking at Pu Ba and the Martian Hunter's mysterious expressions, Steve was puzzled but still pressed the communication device and contacted his companions in the shelter.
...
"Beep! Beep!"
The sudden sound woke up the man lying on the table. The man straightened up with a激灵, and his long hair and a face full of stubble covered his face.
Even if the most familiar person came, they probably wouldn't recognize who the person in front of them was, unless they looked at the faint light emanating from his chest through his shirt.
The man wiped his face, cheered up, and then frantically grabbed the communicator next to him and pressed the call button.
"This is Stark."
