#613 - God of War
It's too late to mend the fold after the sheep are lost. Not everyone understands the principle of preparing for danger in times of peace, especially beings as naturally powerful as Hyperion. Power that comes too easily isn't always a good thing.
Watching Yang Le charge at him again, even after being weakened, Hyperion couldn't help but feel a trace of vigilance.
Despite being significantly weakened, this person is still rushing towards the enemy head-on. Either he's a brainless brute or he has something to rely on.
Hyperion preferred to believe his enemy was the latter. He didn't think anyone could be so foolish, so even though he temporarily had the upper hand, he didn't act rashly. Instead, he dodged Yang Le's charge.
Although he evaded the attack, Hyperion's atomic rays didn't stop. Orange-yellow energy burst out again, this time targeting Yang Le's back.
If this attack landed squarely, even Hyperion himself would be on the ground for half a day. If his opponent was just a brainless brute, he was confident he could take him down directly with this move.
But how could Yang Le let him have his way? Based on the abilities he had shown before, plus his human appearance, it wasn't hard to see that the alien hero Yang Le transformed into was one of the top races in the Marvel Universe—the Asgardians.
Moreover, because Yang Le's Asgardian genes came from Thor, the Asgardian he transformed into possessed power far surpassing other Asgardians, as well as terrifying potential.
For example, the lightning he had just displayed was a manifestation of Thor's power, a kind of genetic inheritance. And lightning often doesn't travel alone.
Yang Le turned abruptly, throwing a punch at the approaching ray. This punch stirred the atmosphere, instantly forming a rotating wind wall in front of Yang Le.
The wind wall, imbued with divine power, had substance, and it blocked Hyperion's ever-victorious atomic rays. But the collision of two powerful forces was obviously not going to be peaceful. The thunderous roar was the best proof of that.
"Boom!"
Speaking of lightning, several bolts of lightning actually fell from the sky, each one closely following Yang Le's body, making people feel apprehensive.
But Yang Le didn't care at all. The lightning falling from the sky had an affinity for him. These forces of nature would only become his assistance, not a threat.
Of course, if there were a more powerful lightning user, it would be possible for the lightning to harm him. That's right, I'm talking about Thor. After all, controlling lightning is his authority. Yang Le is only temporarily borrowing it because of his genes.
Things used temporarily are never as convenient as your own. Maybe he should try using his own divine power.
"Huff~"
Hyperion warily watched Yang Le hovering not far away. For some reason, the sky, which had been thundering and covered in dark clouds, suddenly calmed down, as if the previous scene of natural disaster was just his illusion.
Of course, Hyperion knew this was impossible. He understood that this was just the calm before the storm, and the real battle had only just begun.
"Now, let's start round two."
Yang Le suddenly opened his eyes. At the same time, several bolts of lightning instantly struck down, but they didn't target anyone. They just fell aimlessly, but rhythmically, in the air.
Why? Why not use lightning to attack like before?
Hyperion's mind was full of doubts, but by this time, Yang Le had already moved. Before the former could figure out the previous question, the real trouble had already arrived at his side.
"Because those are the drums announcing the start of the war!"
With that said, Yang Le's fist had already solidly landed on Hyperion's face. This punch was so fierce that it was even more terrifying than the thunder in the sky.
"Boom!"
The exploding thunder and the sound of the fist hitting its target rang out at the same time. Hyperion couldn't tell which sound was louder. He only knew that he had to adjust his posture, because Yang Le's next attack was already coming.
The storm had now transformed into Yang Le's warhorse, carrying Yang Le as he chased after the flying Hyperion, still looking unforgiving.
"Ah!"
Hyperion roared angrily, and orange-yellow light broke through the clouds. The atmosphere was ignited, as if a second sun was rising on Earth.
Faced with this earth-shattering blow, Yang Le simply raised his right hand and shouted.
"Who will help me!"
"Boom!"
A thunderclap responded to Yang Le's call, and white lightning struck directly into the palm of Yang Le's right hand. Yang Le felt something and immediately clenched his five fingers, holding it tightly in his hand.
"Ha!"
Yang Le gathered his energy in his dantian, and with his right hand holding the lightning, he swung it down fiercely at the incoming ray. The thick lightning gradually stretched and deformed in the air, vaguely transforming into the shape of an axe.
"Boom!"
The two unparalleled forces collided, blasting the cloudy sky into a cloudless expanse, but only for a moment. Once the storm subsided, more dark clouds returned again.
Opening his palm and letting the last bit of lightning in his hand dissipate, Yang Le didn't intend to give Hyperion a chance to breathe. He stretched out his left hand and grabbed the dark clouds that had just spread over.
Holding his left hand out flat, the dark clouds began to deform. As Yang Le placed his right hand on the dark clouds, Hyperion finally saw that the dark clouds had turned into something like a bow.
Pinching a wisp of dark cloud with his right hand, as Yang Le drew the bowstring to its full extent, rumbling thunder echoed incessantly.
"Boom!"
Yang Le released the bowstring, and several bolts of lightning instantly transformed into arrows, scattering from the dark clouds and striking at Hyperion in unison.
Hyperion dodged and weaved, avoiding several bolts of lightning. Some of them he couldn't dodge in time, so he could only smash them with his fists. Feeling the burning pain and numbness in his hands, Hyperion really had a hard time.
"It's not over yet!"
Yang Le again casually grabbed the storm carrying him into his hand. These constantly swirling winds transformed into a long, strip-shaped weapon in an illogical manner.
Accompanied by the movement of Yang Le's wrist, the storm lashed out at Hyperion like a whip, so fast that he couldn't even react.
"Tear!"
Hyperion looked at his torn shirt. The power of these winds far exceeded his expectations. It shouldn't be said that the power of those natural forces had been enhanced several times over in Yang Le's hands.
Ordinary lightning couldn't hurt Hyperion. This was a principle he had understood when he was six years old, but what was happening now contradicted the understanding he had cultivated over the past ten years.
"What exactly are you?"
In the distance, Yang Le, riding the storm, draped in lightning, and surrounded by dark clouds, coldly stared at Hyperion, who was completely perplexed.
