#698 - Wingless Angel
The fact that godhood can bring tremendous benefits to its holder is well known throughout the Nine Realms. Even the least knowledgeable Midgardians have recorded various divine miracles in their myths and epics, some of which are brought about by godhood.
Like Hela, as the Queen of Hel, she possesses a natural dominance over the beings within the Nine Realms. In most cases, she can freely decide the life and death of any creature, even these self-important kings present here.
Of course, this power of life and death is still somewhat limited. Hela cannot directly seize the lives of those who are powerful or possess certain characteristics. Of course, she can try to kill these people herself, provided she can defeat them.
Like Odin and Thor, these two are within this category. Hela can't beat the former, Odin, and she can't directly seize the life of the latter, Thor, nor can she kill him directly.
If Hela dared to do so, it would definitely invite Odin's revenge. She killed Tyr with the help of a prophecy; otherwise, Odin wouldn't have let it go so easily.
"Kill the God of War again? Just like we did a thousand years ago?"
The Angel Queen proposed her idea in the crystal ball, but she was quickly refuted.
"I'm afraid that won't work," Malekith stroked his chin. "A thousand years ago, we could still fool him with a prophecy. A thousand years later, I don't believe that old codger won't be on guard. Acting in this situation is like throwing a lamb into a tiger's den."
"At the same time, the same action may also attract Odin's attention. This is stirring up a hornet's nest," Hela also disagreed with the Angel Queen's suggestion.
The Angel Queen was not annoyed by the successive rebuttals. Instead, she asked, "Then what should we do? Does anyone have a better idea?"
"I suggest we stand still," Malekith smiled. "We have more important things to do. If we accomplish that, Odin will no longer be a threat. Then, no matter how many Gods of War there are, it will be useless."
"Laufey agrees with this suggestion," the Giant King nodded. "Now, the more important thing is to find that hammer and find someone who can pick it up. Anything else can be postponed."
Malekith's proposal was approved by everyone present. It's not worth attracting Odin's attention for this little thing. If they stir up a hornet's nest at this time, all their preparations will be in vain.
After finalizing the first matter, the group moved on to the next topic. This time, Malekith was the first to speak.
Malekith said, "My subordinates have discovered traces of that hammer in Midgard. It seems that a group of Midgardians obtained the backup plan left by that one in Midgard decades ago and used magic to make that hammer descend."
"Do you know the specific location?" Sindr asked impatiently.
"Not yet," Malekith shrugged. "Because I haven't seen Thor on the front lines recently, I told my subordinates in Midgard to hide. Who knows if that hammer-wielding brute will run to Midgard? It would be bad if he found out."
"And guess what? My subordinates really did find traces of Thor in Midgard."
"Thor ran to Midgard?" Hela frowned. "Do you know what he's doing there?"
"Unfortunately, I can't find out about that," Malekith sighed. "I only know that he beat up a Midgardian in Midgard and made friends with another Midgardian, just like he did hundreds of years ago. He never gets tired of repeating the same thing."
As Malekith spoke, he spread out his left hand, and an image was projected from it, showing Thor and Yang Le talking at the hospital entrance.
"My people don't dare to get too close to Thor. Even with the help of magic, they may not be able to avoid his perception. So, I only know that Thor went to contact a group of Midgardians after separating from this Midgardian, and these people all have special abilities. They are not ordinary people."
Malekith paused and then spoke again, "However, these Midgardians don't seem to be his target. In the end, Thor went back to the first Midgardian he met, and then the light of the Rainbow Bridge appeared."
"Using the Rainbow Bridge in front of Midgardians? It seems that Thor didn't hide his identity," Hela analyzed the information. "Then it means that this Midgardian might be very special?"
"Of course, it's also possible that Thor's old habits have returned," Sindr scoffed at this. "I don't know what he's thinking, making friends with those ants."
"Malekith," Hela turned her head. "Can you turn that Midgardian into one of us?"
"You mean plant a spy next to Thor? And then stab him in the back with someone he trusts?" Malekith's eyes widened, and his originally blue pupils turned blood-red, as if his mouth was about to split to the back of his head.
"Hahaha! Of course, I can do it. I can't wait to see the scene of the famous Thor being betrayed by a weak Midgardian. What kind of expression do you think he will have then?"
Malekith's madness was completely different from his initial gentleness. That appearance was even more chilling than his initial fake smile.
Sindr pursed her lips unhappily. In her opinion, everyone here was a madman. If her strength was not enough, she would not cooperate with these people. Like her father, piercing through the entire Nine Realms with a sword was what she longed for.
"Congratulations, you have come up with another good idea," the Angel Queen in the crystal ball clapped her hands. "But unfortunately, I can't help you with anything, after all, Heaven has been expelled by Odin."
The Angel Queen's tone was full of resentment. At first, Malekith contacted her, using the return of Heaven to the Ten Realms and revenge on Odin to lure her into joining this organization, but so much time has passed, and neither of these two things has shown any sign of progress.
"Don't worry, Heven," Malekith once again returned to his original elegant appearance. "You know, I'm about to find a way to welcome Heaven back, but before that, I need to obtain the magical support of the Light Elves."
"You know, relying solely on the magic of the Dark Elves cannot bring the entire Heaven back. It's not that I don't want to help you."
"Heh," the Angel Queen sneered, but did not respond again. After all, she was the weakest party in the alliance. Although she didn't know why these people wanted to bring her in, she did need these people now. After all, without them, Heaven would not be able to return no matter how long it took, and revenge would be even more absurd.
The Angel Queen sighed in her heart that she was forced by the situation, but her eyes couldn't help but glance at a graceful figure standing at the door. That person was the current strongest person in Heaven, the Wingless Angel…
Angela.
