The Comprehensive Evolution of American Comics
#716 - Return to Asgard
As Yang Le had expected, while there were records related to the Celestial Hammer here, there was absolutely nothing about Hydra or S.H.I.E.L.D.
Moreover, this base wasn't connected to any external networks; it was a complete cyber-island, making it impossible for even a Skrull to reverse-track information transmitted from the outside.
Retracting the Skrull arm transformed from the Ruyi Jingu Bang, Yang Le wasn't very satisfied with this trip to Antarctica. After all, he only obtained a very heavy hammer and nothing else.
Compared to the Serpent, whose arrival was uncertain, Yang Le was more concerned about the elusive S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra.
These two were as common as newbie village NPCs in American comic novels in the real universe, so why were they so hard to find when Yang Le put it into practice?
Yang Le couldn't help but feel frustrated. He could rely on certain alien heroes from the Omnitrix to directly obtain answers, but doing so always felt like surrendering.
Just Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D. had made Yang Le feel helpless for a moment.
Don't get me wrong, Yang Le wasn't looking down on these two organizations, but Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D.'s basic role in Marvel was to be troublemakers.
They could still serve as the main force in the last century, but now they could only show their faces in various events, stirring things up and making the situation more chaotic.
Yang Le clicked his tongue in annoyance. He decided to go back and hand the Celestial Hammer over to Odin first, then try harder. If it really didn't work, he would have to use Clockwork's power.
After all, he already had an idea in his head. If that idea still didn't work, then he could only offer a French military salute. After all, surrendering meant losing only half, but Yang Le still wanted to try hard before surrendering.
Thinking like this, Yang Le carried the hammer, soared into the air, and crashed through the ceiling and the thick frozen earth and ice layers. After flying to a certain height, he shouted a name loudly.
"Heimdall!"
As the guardian of the Bifrost, Heimdall had a perception even stronger than that of Odin, the King of the Gods. His eyes could scan the Nine Realms, and his ears could hear the sounds of another world.
Before returning to Earth from Asgard, Thor had told him that if he wanted to come to Asgard, he could just call out Heimdall's name. His father had already informed him in advance, granting Yang Le and Gwen the right to step onto the Bifrost.
Sure enough, after Yang Le shouted the name, a rainbow descended from the sky, completely enveloping the flying Yang Le. In an instant, both Yang Le and the rainbow disappeared without a trace.
"Boom!"
When Yang Le came back to his senses, he was already on the Bifrost. Standing directly in front of him was Heimdall, fully armed and standing as straight as a spear.
"Welcome back, Mr. Yang," Heimdall greeted Yang Le, his attitude a little better than the last time Yang Le had come, probably because of Thor's spar with Yang Le. Asgardians valued martial prowess, even children were no exception, let alone Heimdall.
Although he didn't have many opportunities to show it, Heimdall was indeed one of the top warriors in Asgard. It was estimated that no more than a handful of people could steadily win against him. With such martial arts, he naturally couldn't dislike strong people.
In short, Asgardians were a race that enjoyed fighting.
"Although I hoped you had returned because you had forgotten something, it seems things are not as I wished."
Heimdall's special eyes moved slightly downward, seeing the Celestial Hammer that Yang Le hadn't deliberately hidden. With his eyesight, he could naturally see the extraordinary nature of this hammer, but that was all.
Because of Odin's information blockade, even Asgardians who had survived from that era weren't very clear about the Serpent's prophecy, but this didn't include Heimdall.
In order to guard against his brother's return, Odin had told Heimdall most of the information about the Serpent, wanting to rely on his ability to patrol the Nine Realms to gain foresight.
Unfortunately, the Serpent wasn't an ordinary character. Even after being sealed for so long and with only a tenth of his strength remaining, he wasn't someone Heimdall could compare to.
Therefore, Heimdall didn't find any connection between the hammer in front of him and the Serpent. He could only see the extraordinary nature of the Celestial Hammer, but he couldn't see anything more detailed.
"You guessed it, Heimdall," Yang Le raised the hammer in his hand. "I have something very important to discuss with the King of the Gods. Is he in Asgard now?"
"He is," Heimdall nodded. "The King of the Gods is in Asgard. I already told him you were coming when you called my name. He is waiting for you in Asgard now."
"What about Thor?" Yang Le took a step forward, but as if he suddenly remembered something, he asked Heimdall again.
"Thor?" Heimdall thought for a moment. "He doesn't seem to be in Asgard. If you want to find him, I can try to contact him for you."
"No, never mind," Yang Le refused Heimdall's suggestion. "It's not convenient for him to know what's going on next. I was thinking if he was in Asgard, could I trouble you to lead him away first?"
Hearing Yang Le's words, Heimdall frowned. He looked at the hammer in Yang Le's hand again, and carefully recalled what Yang Le had said, and immediately understood.
"Could it be..." Heimdall's pupils dilated. "Are you holding that person's Celestial Hammer?"
"Yes," Yang Le first nodded, then immediately explained.
"I didn't lift this thing through normal means. It didn't choose me, so not only did I not get its blessing, I don't have to fulfill the responsibility of lifting it."
Heimdall was stunned after hearing this. To be honest, he didn't believe what Yang Le said. After all, in his cognition, things blessed by a god-king level being couldn't be lifted by unconventional means.
In his opinion, as long as you lifted this type of thing, then you must have been recognized by the weapon, but Yang Le didn't look like he was being eroded by the Serpent God.
After all, in order to better complete Odin's mission, Heimdall was still very familiar with the Serpent God's aura. From the time Yang Le first came down from the Bifrost until they had been talking for so long, Heimdall hadn't been able to detect any aura related to the Serpent God.
Otherwise, Heimdall would have adopted an attack posture when Yang Le first came down from the Bifrost, and wouldn't have chatted with Yang Le so nicely for so long.
Just as Heimdall was thinking about whether or not to let Yang Le pass, he suddenly froze, because Odin had sent a message to his mind.
