#769 - The Origin of Fear: The Power of Imagination - Super Zod
The tall light screen behind Peter suddenly burst open, transforming into blocks that assembled into a giant mech behind him.
The appearance of this mech was traceable; Peter modeled it after the Super Zord from the tokusatsu show "Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad" he watched as a child, making it virtually identical in appearance.
However, unlike the multicolored Super Zord, Peter's replica was only green and lacked the most important part: the head.
Peter detached the mechanical grapple from his right hand and manipulated the small mech to jump into the sky, performing a somersault. After the flip, Peter's small mech transformed into a giant bull-horned head.
Anyone familiar with tokusatsu would know that this was the Super Zord's head.
"Clang!"
A green electric current appeared between the Super Zord's head and body, guiding them together. After a crisp sound, the Super Zord's fusion was complete.
Under Peter's control, the Super Zord took its first step. Surprisingly, such a massive body didn't leave footprints on the road; instead, it moved with unexpected lightness.
The Super Zord's speed was unimaginable, reaching Cindy in the blink of an eye, without making much noise along the way.
Cindy reacted quickly, not bothering to remove the grapple stuck on her, she immediately swung her hammer. Unsure of the opponent's attack power, she decided to strike first.
Facing the hammer that had repeatedly foiled him, Peter commanded the Super Zord to swing its right fist. The two powerful forces collided, and the resulting gale even collapsed the surrounding houses.
"Crack!"
A crack appeared on the Super Zord's right arm. Peter clicked his tongue in disapproval. That hammer was too powerful; he didn't know what material it was made of, but it could withstand the Super Zord, which was composed of most of his energy.
According to the Green Lantern Corps manual, the strength of the green ring depends entirely on the user. People with strong willpower and rich imagination can even perfectly realize the creation's true power.
But clearly, Peter didn't have that power yet, otherwise, the Super Zord wouldn't have been cracked by a single hammer blow. Even so, it was much better than the things Peter had created before.
Clenching his fist, Super Zord was now one with Peter. The latter gritted his teeth and threw his fist, and the former naturally obeyed, increasing its output.
Thus, with a trade-off style of fighting, Peter risked breaking one of the Super Zord's arms to blast Cindy away.
"Smash!"
Peter gritted his teeth and barely stabilized the Super Zord, preventing it from shattering like its right arm.
"Miscalculated," Peter wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. "I didn't expect losing an arm to almost collapse the entire Zord. Is this the so-called oneness?"
There was no time for Peter to lament; Cindy, who had just been blasted away, was already making a comeback.
Swinging her hammer, this simple but effective attack method made Peter envious, but Peter knew that what he envied was exactly what he wanted to destroy.
Without time for much thought, Cindy's hammer was already close. In this situation, Peter had to think of a way to prevent the Super Zord from being destroyed.
It was made of most of the energy he possessed. If it were scattered now, the only path left for Peter would be defeat.
With eyes like lightning, Peter had a flash of inspiration and actually came up with a solution.
"Clang!"
A brief moment of astonishment appeared on Cindy's angry face. Her attack had missed?
Just before being hit, the Super Zord split into pieces, turning from one giant robot into five beast-like robots, just like in a tokusatsu show, to avoid Cindy's fatal blow.
The five robots bypassed Cindy and reassembled into the Super Zord behind her.
"Take this!"
Peter raised his only remaining left fist and slammed it into Cindy's wide-open back. The latter had no time to dodge and could only hurriedly turn around and place the hammer in front of her.
"Boom!"
This punch solidly hit the target, and Cindy turned into a meteor embedded in the ground, splashing gravel and dust.
"Ah!"
With a roar, Cindy waved her hammer to disperse the dust in the sky. At this time, her anger was even greater, and she only wanted to blast her enemy into a pulp.
And the target of her resentment was standing in front of her, still that tall, one-armed robot, but this time the robot's one arm was holding a long sword.
The one-armed robot raised its long sword, and the Super Zord's body began to gradually dissipate, indicating that Peter was at the end of his strength.
He didn't have any extra energy to maintain the Super Zord's appearance, so he gathered all the remaining energy and the energy used to condense the Super Zord onto that sword.

The surging willpower turned into a green light that soared into the sky, breaking through the clouds like a sharp blade. Such a powerful attack made Cindy, even in her irrational state, know to avoid its edge.
"Whoosh!"
Cindy wanted to retreat, but she found that she was being held back. She looked down and found that the mechanical claw around her waist, which she had no time to deal with, was connected to the ground, preventing her from moving.
"This is the end, Cindy," Peter said as he swung the blade. "If this move doesn't succeed, then I have no other way."
With that, the blade that soared into the sky instantly swung down. Cindy had no extra energy to put on that mechanical claw, so she had to rely on the hammer again, placing it horizontally in front of her.
The next second, crimson light collided with the green blade. Peter deliberately chose to bring Cindy here because there were no living things here, and only here could he output with confidence.
"Boom!"
Like two little boys falling, two forces, one red and one green, burst out one after another. Sometimes the former overwhelmed the latter, and sometimes the latter rode on the former, making it impossible to tell who was winning.
But soon the red energy weakened. The power raised in haste was ultimately inferior to Peter's planned attack. Under Peter's suppression, Cindy couldn't recover her energy and slowly fell into a disadvantage.
Seize the opportunity to pursue!
Peter bet everything he had. He could feel the pain caused by the depletion of his willpower, but he couldn't care so much anymore. This was likely the only chance he would have in his life.
"Crack!"
This faint sound would normally have been impossible for Peter to hear at this time, but he did hear it.
That was the sound of the hammer breaking!
