The days of hanging out at Hogwarts

Chapter 156 Before the start of school

Privet Drive, the Dursleys.

Harry still lived in the cupboard, although Aunt Petunia had hinted that he could move upstairs to a regular bedroom. Harry still chose to continue living here. He couldn't explain why, but he just didn't want to move.

Today, the small storage room welcomed a special guest. He was short and thin, with two big bat-like ears and a pair of protruding green eyes as big as tennis balls.

This is a weird house elf who calls himself Dobby.

"You intercepted all my letters, so I couldn't contact my friends all summer!" Harry looked at the house elf in front of him angrily.

Hathaway stood on the crossbar of the luggage rack, waving her white wings and scolding this nasty house elf loudly, as if pointing at Dobby's nose.

Hathaway set out in the morning with Harry's birthday gift for Loren, carrying her backpack and singing, but she was robbed by this house elf when she went out. This kind of behavior simply makes the owl angry.

Dobby blinked anxiously and looked up at Harry: "Harry Potter, don't be angry... Dobby had hoped, hoped that if Harry Potter thought his friend had forgotten him... Harry Potter might I don’t want to go back to school, sir..."

The more they talked, the angrier Harry became. This Dobby simply couldn't communicate! The two soon started fighting. One wanted to chase, while the other ran around the room and ran away. Even Hathaway's cage knocked over to the ground.

boom!

The door to the storage room was kicked open.

"Sirius!" Harry shouted in surprise, "Quickly subdue it, it intercepted my letter!"

After receiving the news from the Dursleys, Black, who hurriedly arrived, immediately pulled out his wand and pointed it at Dobby. The light of magic was building up, and a conflict was about to happen.

"Dobby is here to protect the great Harry Potter. He cannot return to that dangerous school where those people are mixing with werewolves. Dobby is here to give a warning!" Dobby howled in a high-pitched voice and hit one. He snapped his fingers and disappeared.

The Dursleys, who were carefully hiding behind Black, widened their eyes, recalling in surprise the monster they had just seen and the magic that disappeared in an instant.

Loren and Bates didn't have many relatives or friends in London, so they only invited the Grangers to have a simple dinner. Of course, the cake was ordered from the cake shop over the phone.

After using magic to organize the cabinets, Loren just walked out of the kitchen when he heard the voices of three adults. They were sitting on the sofa and talking animatedly. Bates occasionally raised his head with laughter.

Hermione was waiting outside the kitchen, her hands behind her back as if she were hiding something.

"What are they talking about, so happy?" Loren passed by Hermione and wiped the water marks on his hands with paper.

"We were talking about what we like to eat. I just mentioned that you like to eat burnt food." Hermione said absently, her eyes wandering, and she was a little afraid to look at Loren.

"What a burnt smell," Loren's face stiffened for a moment, and then he pretended not to care and said, "Let them chat, let's go upstairs and play."

This was what Hermione wanted. She nodded and followed Loren up the stairs.

"I received a letter from Ron this morning. He asked if we could contact Harry. There was no reply to the letters he wrote, not even a birthday wish." Loren pointed to the sleeping child hanging upside down on the curtain rod. Errol, explain to Hermione where it comes from.

Hermione's eyes widened, looking shocked.

Loren thought she was worried that something had happened to Harry, and comforted him: "Harry has his godfather by his side now, and he will be fine."

"No!" Hermione sat down on the edge of the bed and patted the quilt in regret, "We forgot Harry's birthday, and neither of us thought of writing him a letter."

Harry's birthday was July 31st. They were on the boat that day and couldn't remember Harry's birthday at all.

Loren blinked. The two of them forgot their friend's birthday because they were traveling together. It sounded a bit... He coughed and changed the subject: "Ron invited me to be a guest at the Burrow."

As expected, Hermione raised her head and looked at him.

"I plan to reject him, but I think Grandpa Bates may need my company more," Loren shrugged, "What do you think?"

“I also feel more comfortable in my own home.”

"I heard that the wizard has a lot of magic items in his house. I will have a chance to see them in the future."

"Our home appliances also look magical to them..."

The two started chatting about the magic furniture. This is what second grade students are like. They always have endless topics to talk about and can't finish them.

It wasn't until late at night outside that Monica greeted Hermione and chatted for a while before going home.

"I prepared a birthday gift for you. I wonder if you like it..." Hermione muttered quietly, with a blush on her face.

After a whole night of mental construction, she finally suppressed her inner trepidation and gave the gift away.

Hermione took out a small pendant from behind her back. The ivory-white thuja wood was carved into a dolphin with a smiling face. The streamlined body was simply carved with fins and snout. The shape was simple but conveyed the agility of the dolphin.

There were some knife marks and flaws on the surface. Through these marks, Loren seemed to be able to see the little girl with her head lowered and focused, using a handmade knife to cut the wood chips bit by bit.

"You asked me not to disturb you just to do this!" Loren took the pendant in surprise, and his heart seemed to be filled with something, very hot.

Hermione explained seriously: "It's mainly for practicing spells. I only made the pendant during my break."

Putting the pendant on his neck, Loren held the little dolphin in his hands and kept caressing it with his fingers. He held it up in front of his eyes and looked at it inch by inch without ever lowering the corner of his grin.

Although the shape is simple and the carving is not exquisite, the more I look at it, the better it looks, and the more I look at it, the more I like it.

Looking at Loren's feedback, Hermione felt as if the happiness in her heart was about to overflow.

"What kind of wood is this? It smells like a delicate fragrance——"

As soon as Loren raised his head, he met Hermione's bright eyes, which were so moist that the light reflected them like bright stars and moon.

He couldn't help but want to see more clearly, and then see more clearly.

Hermione's cheeks were red, and she lowered her eyes slightly, her long eyelashes fluttering: "It's made of Thuja wood. I carved it myself. No, I didn't use Transfiguration..."

For some reason, she hid her eyes, and Loren felt that the thin lips of her red mouth became more beautiful, like a pendant. The more she looked at them, the better they looked.

Hermione once again felt the strange emotion she felt when she saw Loren with the mole between his eyebrows in the library.

The two of them looked at each other at some point, their eyes reflecting each other's faces. The light was getting hazier, but the face was getting clearer and clearer.

Boom!

Boom!

The sound of window glass being hit was heard.

The two of them hurriedly averted their eyes like frightened rabbits.

Loren looked out the window and saw an owl covered in snowy white and fluffy fur tapping on the glass.

"Hathaway?" He opened the window and let the owl in.

Harry's Hathaway, with her beautiful white feathers, is so eye-catching that anyone who has seen her can recognize her at a glance.

It was also a package containing a letter. Loren opened the letter and quickly read it. The content was similar to what he thought.

After the birthday wishes, Harry briefly explained what he had experienced.

"Harry said that a house elf named Dobby intercepted all his letters during the holidays. His godfather suspected that Malfoy did it and has already investigated." Loren condensed part of the content and relayed it.

Hermione smoothed her hair, the blush on her face not completely gone, "No, it's okay. I'll go back first."

The little witch quickly left the room, but no matter how you looked at it, her steps seemed like she was running away.

After counting the candies given by Ron, the handheld game console given by Harry, and replying to them, Loren's 12th birthday ended like this. So plain, yet so beautiful.

"Honestly, what are you talking about... Diagon Alley, should we pay attention to anything?" Wendell asked nervously. He felt uncomfortable no matter how he placed his hands and feet in the passenger seat, even the clothes on his body They all became blind.

In the back seat, Hermione, nestled in Monica's arms, sighed helplessly: "I asked Professor McGonagall before, you can just go shopping normally, but you can't buy things with pounds."

The vacation was almost over, and they made an appointment to buy supplies for the new school year together. Mainly to replenish Hermione's worn-out quill, as well as the second-year Defense Against the Dark Arts book, and a complete set of Gilderoy Lockhart's travel notes.

It involves six kinds of strange creatures including female ghosts, werewolves, trolls, ghouls, snowmen in a snowy area, hags, and vampires.

When discussing the itinerary, both parents proposed to visit together and were firm in their attitude. Loren and Hermione had no reason to refuse, so the five of them set off on their way to the Leaky Cauldron.

Bates, who was driving, turned his head and looked at Loren, then quickly turned back to look at the road. He asked in a tentative tone: "Loren, otherwise I will wait for you outside and not go to that or something." The Wizard’s Diagon Alley?”

Loren also sighed deeply. It was you who asked to go and have a look at home. When we were almost there, it was you who wanted to retreat.

"Come on, gentlemen, you're not even as calm as Hermione's mother."

Monica smiled, hugged Hermione and shook her: "This is because I believe the two little wizards will protect us."

This calmness lasted until she saw the dirty and dark Leaky Cauldron Bar. The black stains covering the exterior walls completely covered the original color of the walls. Monica just looked at it and didn't want to get close.

Not to mention the strangely dressed wizards in the bar, looking at their clothes with strange eyes, every item of which was awkward.

Hermione held Monica's hand and explained softly: "If you come by yourself, you won't see the Leaky Cauldron. It's enchanted."

"The development of wizarding society lags behind modern industrial society. Our clothes are rare items for them. There are still young wizards from wizarding families in schools who ask Muggle wizards to help bring clothes."

Loren tapped the wall with his wand a few times, opening the door to the magical world, "Welcome to Diagon Alley."

Although the three Bates were very surprised to see the owl seller, the crucible seller, and the weird broom seller, others were even more surprised to see them along the way.

Not long after leaving, the three of them couldn't bear the looks. The wizards looked at them like monkeys on the street.

When Loren and Hermione came out of Gringotts, Bates and Granger were standing awkwardly on the white steps. There seemed to be no place for them to stay on the streets of Diagon Alley that had been widened by space magic.

"Hermione, otherwise..." Wendell whispered and wanted to leave.

Loren felt a little panicked. They were originally enthusiastic and cheerful people, and they should not have to bear such scrutiny, nor should they be forced to give up their curiosity.

"Loren! Hermione!" A familiar voice sounded, and Harry ran toward them from a distance, his face covered in black soot.

Loren saw Hagrid's huge figure from a distance, and his eyes lit up, "Harry, Hagrid, it's so good to see you two!"

"This is my grandfather, Bates, and these are Hermione's parents, Wendell and Monica." Loren pulled Hagrid and introduced them, "This is Hagrid, our friend."

"Hello, Loren and Hermione are both good children, and you must also be good parents." Hagrid said with a hearty smile.

Bates and Granger looked up at Hagrid's face blankly, and then they realized how to say hello to Hagrid. Although this big man was too tall, his eyes were gentle, unlike those of wizards.

"Hagrid, our parents are a little uncomfortable with the environment in Diagon Alley. Can you take them to have a drink? It's best to choose a place that is cleaner and not so crowded." Loren asked.

"Of course! It just so happens that you little guys go to find Mr. and Mrs. Weasley and ask them to take you to buy supplies for school." Hagrid readily agreed, and grabbed Bates and Wendell's clothes to leave.

Bates and Granger were dragged away by Hagrid, just like adults taking three children, and they were taken away in a daze.

"By the way, Loren! Buy me some medicine to get rid of carnivorous slugs!" Hagrid's voice came from afar, like thunder, scattering the dark clouds in the sky and scattering clear sunshine.

Hagrid is like this. He is very happy to drink. If he can drink with kind people, he will be even happier.

Hermione repaired Harry's eyes, but when she looked up, she found that their parents had abandoned them.

"Harry, did you go to Gringotts to withdraw money?" Loren asked easily.

Harry was still a little dazed, "I, I will go after I find the Weasley family."

A family of red-haired people can be seen at a glance even among the strangely dressed wizards in Diagon Alley. They looked around and saw Ron, Fred, George and Mr. Weasley running quickly down the crowded street.

"Harry, that's great! Molly's going crazy with anxiety," Mr. Weasley gasped, "She's right behind."

"Where did you come out?" Ron asked.

"Knockturn Alley."

George and Fred both exclaimed, "That's so cool!"
