Chapter 1184 - Spider Juice?

Moonlight was going to use an escaping skill to avoid the little spiders, but when he heard Lu Li’s order, he decisively cast Whirlwind.
He wasn’t sure if it was still worth doing, as Azure Sea Breeze, the tankiest person on their team, had already died.
Everyone thought that Lu Li was going to leave Moonlight to deal with those monsters. As long as he could kill some or delay them, the others could focus on dealing damage.
“No way! They’re so squishy!”
Surprisingly, when Moonlight’s Whirlwind came into contact with the spiders, they immediately turned into corpses, unable to bear the strength of this attack. Moonlight hadn’t taken any damage at all.
Before Whirlwind even finished, all of them had already died.
“I guess the higher the attack, the lower defense they would have, especially since there were so many of them,” Lu Li said as he pointed at a few spiders on the ground. “Go loot them, and remember that those who attack first always have the advantage.”
Wandering’s Consecration could be pre-emptively cast when the larger spiders were dying. The moment the spiders crawled out of the corpse, they would immediately take damage. As a backup, Azure Sea Breeze also had Trample.
Blizzard could also solve this problem. The caster just needed to maintain the skill over the body of the big spider in order to deal with its spawn.
The spiders could drop some web material, which was often used by tailors.
After this, they quickly spotted the Smoulderweb Spider, which was much larger and green. At first glance, it didn’t look that much like a spider, as long as you didn’t see its face.
The spider seemed to be anxiously walking around; the arrival of the invaders made it feel like its life was in danger.
“Everyone, get some antidotes from Rice Ball – the latest and strongest stuff.”
Lu Li was exaggerating, but there was still some truth to what he was saying. Spider monsters were generally armed with venom, and the Smoulderweb Spiders were no excpetion. However, the most important characteristic of this Boss was its continuous poison effect. If a player was afflicted and didn’t cancel it somehow, it would keep going until he or she died.
There was quest called Spider Juice.
Johan from Burning Steppes was a research fanatic. He mainly studied poisons, which was quite expected of someone who lived in his location.
He had inadvertently heard some Blackrock Orcs talk about a deadly poison called ‘Spider Juice’. These two words were whispered in a fearful tone as they referred to the Smoulderweb Spider in Blackrock Spire.
It was said that many powerful Blackrock Orcs had succumbed to the venom of the Smoulderweb Spider.
Johan was very interested in this as he had reached a critical stage in his research, and he didn’t have much time left. However, he didn’t have to courage to do what he wanted himself, so he posted a quest for the adventurers with a generous reward.
“I need a sample of that ‘Spider Juice’. The poison sac is not enough; you must let her inject the venom into your body. Then, come back to me, and I will have the Spider Juice!”
This kind of request was quite demanding, but in order to obtain his reward, many players worked together to complete the quest.
To complete this quest, you first had to be poisoned and keep yourself alive. You then had to leave the Instance Dungeon to find Johan so that he could remove the poison from your body. The worst part was that sometimes you wouldn’t be able to get poisoned without dying. Ocassionally, there would be a player who saw you doing this, and they would cast a disperse skill on you to cancel the poison.
Everyone first had to connect their Hearthstones to the Burning Steppes so that when they were poisoned, they just had to channel their Hearthstone.
Although poison dealt damage, it did not force the players to remain in combat. After everyone had completed the quest, they came back to kill the spider in one coordinated effort.
One of the drops was a Strengthening Stone. Although the drop rate for these was rather high, it was often Bosses who dropped them. The demand for Stones wasn’t too great, but as long as you didn’t set a ridiculous price, there was no fear that you couldn’t sell them. Lu Li would occasionally browse the Exchange Hall and would often buy them if they were at the right price.
You could never have too many Strengthening Stones.
Smoulderweb Spider silk was a rare material that was dropped. This was the only Boss that could drop this item, so it was quite valuable. Lu Li put it into the warehouse of rare materials, where anyone could apply to claim it if they wanted it.
The Spider Silk Robe was a Gold Magic equipment. It only had one Special Effect and its Attributes were quite ordinary.
However, this piece of equipment was definitely valuable, because its special effect 40% poison resistance. Although this didn’t directly translate into a 40% chance of avoiding poison damage, this kind of resistance was definitely comparable to an Epic item.
If you encountered a monster that was particularly poisonous and you had no suitable antidotes, you could wear this robe to almost completely negate it.
Therefore, Lu Li decided that this should be placed in the guild’s warehouse, but no one could redeem it. It was to be regarded as public property, and whoever wanted to use it could rent it. After some time, it would then be automatically returned to the warehouse.
There was also a Dark Gold equipment with ordinary Attributes and no notable effects.
Lu Li assigned this item to Sesame Rice Ball because he had given everyone the antidotes which made defeating the Smoulderweb Spider a breeze.
The next item was quite noteworthy – the Wildheart Boots!
A Druid set piece was something that required extraordinary luck to acquire. Unfortunately, Hachi Chan stared blankly before showing off the Epic boots that she had received in a quest.
Hehehe…
The players were shocked at how lucky she was and a little jealous about it too.
“You guys can never say that Mages are favoured by the System ever again,” Fat Monkey sighed with anger. The best item here for Mages was Gold and he didn’t need it at all.
There were quite a number of players in the guild and they could all obtain T0.5 sets if they just completed the quests.
“There is still one more item. Could it be an Epic?” Remnant Dream wondered, quite pleased with herself. She felt like she was getting luckier by the day, and the possibilities began to race through her mind. Would it be something she could eat?
“Quickly loot it – you’ll get a reward if it’s an Epic.”
The others were becoming anxious.
“Wow, this is a good item! How can this even exist?”
Remnant Dream was excited once again. The little girl was filled with energy, but some of the others found it to be a little overbearing.
Lu Li couldn’t help but use his authority again to see what she had picked up.
“Let me take a look.”
Sure enough, they shouldn’t have been so quick to believe this little girl. He looked at the egg with a dull smile. It was impossible to think that this was a ‘good item’. It was just a pet egg and it wasn’t even a combat type.
