The Great Thief
Chapter 1364 - The First Level 60

The first Legendary equipment drop was a Bracer for the T1 Warrior set.
There were usually two paths for the Warrior class – the defensive path and the damage-based Berserker path.
However, it didn’t matter which path you took because all paths shared the same set. This also applied to other classes like Paladins and Shamans.
What affected the attributes of equipment were the different materials used in the crafting process and the crafting procedure itself.
There were quite a number of Warriors around, so it was natural that the price rose quickly.
However, the only ones who could afford to win the auction were Azure Sea Breeze and Moonlight. Although the two of them were good friends, in a time like this, friendship was irrelevant.
Alas, it was Azure Sea Breeze who was richer. He was the Main Tank — the number one Main Tank in Dawn. Any event would give him DKP, and he broke the record that Lu Li had created with a high score of 220 DKP.
Auctioning for equipment was also a psychological war.
Take the current situation as an example – everyone internally priced the value of the equipment and had an idea of how many points their opponents had.
If they both went all in for this item, there was no way that Moonlight would beat Azure Sea Breeze.
So, he wasn’t expecting to win the equipment.
However, just because he couldn’t win the equipment didn’t mean that he wouldn’t fight for it at all. Not only did he have an internal price for the equipment, but he also had a baseline price that his opponent had to pass before he gave up on the equipment.
220 DKP was his baseline. If Azure Sea Breeze spent 220 points, he wouldn’t have enough to compete against Moonlight for the remaining equipment auctions. Azure Sea Breeze could win the equipment now, but he would lose his DKP advantage against Moonlight.
Of course, this also came with risks.
For example, Moonlight’s price for this item was 150 points. Any higher would not be affordable in his opinion, as it might make him miss out on the next two equipment.
However, if he had to give up on the equipment, he still needed to raise the price for it. The problem was, if he raised the price to 210 points and Azure Sea Breeze gave up, then he’d have to buy the equipment with 210 points.
From another perspective, Azure Sea Breeze could not be prepared to pay 220 points for the equipment. 210 points might even be the price that he was happy for Moonlight to pay in order for him to give up on the equipment. In that case, Moonlight would financially be in trouble.
Fortunately, both parties were happy with the results.
Then, Remnant Dream looted another recipe – Flarecore Bracers. This was a Legendary equipment for Healing Priests, and the recipe itself was enough to produce six of them. The attributes of a Flarecore Bracer would be better if a Bss had directly dropped it. However, just the fact that it could make six copies made it valuable.
Lu Li handed it to March Rain; she could work on crafting them as soon as they gathered the materials for it.
Drizzle Court would supply the materials for two copies in the next few days, but they could only receive one Flarecore Bracer. This meant that they were trading two equipment’s worth of materials for one equipment.
This was how alliances worked. They were also given better treatment because Drizzle Court sent out their own members to participate in the event. If this was a random player, they wouldn’t be able to get a single equipment even if they were to exchange it with three copies worth of materials.
The final loot was the Robe of Volatile Power, a Legendary robe for all magic classes. However, because of prior auctions and the fact that they were all top players, they had all decided to get a full T1 gear set in the future. So, this robe with decent attributes was only auctioned out for 160DKP.
The price didn’t appear low, but considering the fact that this robe could be used by all magic classes, 160 DKP was a reasonable price. Not to mention, this robe was also very pretty.
Unfortunately, this robe was for level 60 players so no one could currently equip it. So, no one knew about its real value except for Lu Li.
The lucky player who won the auction was a Warlock from the elite group. He was still far from level 60. On the other hand, Sakura Memories was close to being level 60.
Lu Li was going to get Sakura Memories to level 60 today — no matter what.
Being the first level 60 player wasn’t just for the title; they also received a reward from the system. To describe it differently, “The first level 60 player would encourage further development of the game.” So if the first level 60 player appeared today, the system would release new content tomorrow.
Lu Li knew that the first system to be pushed out would be the fortress system.
This was content for the level 60 players to keep them entertained. Players could circle an area on system-designated perimeters, and after they cleared out the area, they could build a fortress to secure and manage it. In the fortress, they could build bars and stores and tax them. It was like the beginning of a new city.
Of course, all good things had a catch.
Players needed to defend their fortresses from invaders if they wanted to enjoy the great profit that they brought. The invaders would mainly be from other clubs and major guilds. Although NPCs would interact with players on the map, it was rare for them to start a large scale invasion. Lu Li had never heard of a fortress that was destroyed by NPCs. No one would be able to defend their fortress if the NPCs invaded.
At the moment, most clubs were at a stage where they were losing profit. There weren’t many clubs that could actually make a profit from competitions. However, after the fortress system, players could run their clubs in Dawn like a real business. It was also from this fortress system onwards that Dawn was truly recognized as an all-in-one game.
If Sakura Memories was the first to reach level 60, then one of her rewards would be the land in Grey Valley.
The first land in the game was very meaningful. From Lu Li’s memories of the past, it was I No Understand who got the land and he passed it to Sorrowless. All the other clubs could only watch as Glory Capital turned it into a well-defended steel box. Even until the day Lu Li was reincarnated, Grey Valley was still under Glory Capital.
The reason was simple.
Only level 60 players could take land for themselves, and it was also only level 60 players who had the right to register for an attack on other players’ fortresses.
While Sakura Memories was the only player in the game who reached level 60, Ruling Sword would have a few days to build a wall much better than a wooden fence for their fortress. In other words, the first level 60 player was guaranteed to obtain an entry level fortress.
“Let’s keep going,” Lu Li commanded as he waved his hand.
Of course, he wasn’t planning on clearing the next boss; he wasn’t that ambitious.
Gehennas didn’t take long to clear, but most of the day had been spent on defeating Magmadar. There wasn’t enough time remaining for them to take down the fourth boss.
