The Little Superman of Hogwarts
#130 - Chapter 130 [Lost Goyle]
Hogwarts Superman - Chapter 130 [The Lost Goyle]
If Ginny's disappointment was merely regret from not being able to help, then Goyle's disappointment could be described as "dread."
When he first saw the basilisk's corpse, he was speechless. It was like: I have a god helping me, but my enemies killed that god first. Now that the god is dead, how am I supposed to deal with those people? They can even kill gods!
Goyle broke down. He skipped class and returned to his dormitory, opening the diary.
[Keli and Harry killed the basilisk! What should I do?] Goyle frantically wrote in the diary.
"How is that possible!?" Voldemort's first thought was disbelief.
That was a basilisk! He had seen it with his own eyes and even commanded it to attack students. He knew how powerful it was! A thought flashed through his mind—what did the person who killed the basilisk do? How did they do it? How could they possibly do it?
This fragment of Voldemort's soul felt like it had witnessed the most incredible thing in the world...
[I heard from classmates that Keli is friends with centaurs. He and the 91st Legion, you know, the team of five including Harry, lured the basilisk to the centaurs' territory, and then hundreds of centaur warriors killed it.]
"Centaurs?" Voldemort knew of this race, of course. He was somewhat convinced. He didn't believe a group of second-year students could kill a basilisk, but hundreds of centaurs might be able to! Of course, the centaur tribe would pay a bloody price! Perhaps all hundred warriors would die.
[The story I heard is roughly like this. Keli and Hermione were the leaders. Hermione wanted revenge because she had been attacked by the basilisk—the previous holder attacked Hermione. Keli was probably helping his girlfriend. His relationship with Hermione is public knowledge.] Goyle continued writing in the diary.
"Hermione!" Voldemort mused. He had to admit that when he first saw the girl, he felt a sense of resonance unique to "high-intelligence" individuals—she was a formidable character, but Ginny had taken her down.
"How did Hermione survive the basilisk's attack?" Voldemort keenly noticed the problem.
[How did Hermione survive? She didn't die! She seemed to turn into a stone statue, and Madam Pomfrey later healed her.] Goyle wrote strangely.
"Are you sure it was a stone statue? Not instant death?" Voldemort repeatedly confirmed this information.
[That was months ago. The previous holder attacked Hermione, but she only turned into a stone statue. Madam Pomfrey healed her a few days later. I heard about it from Malfoy.] Goyle was puzzled by the diary's behavior. Wasn't this attack long ago?
Voldemort paused, pondering a question—although he was just a soul fragment, he could still think. He clearly remembered that the basilisk looked directly at Hermione. She should have died on the spot, unless something he didn't notice happened.
If Keli were here, he would tell Voldemort: You're too confident. Can't you guess even Dumbledore's actions? You're in this state, and you still don't know where you lost?
[Is there a problem?] Goyle asked in the diary when Voldemort didn't reply for a long time.
"How many people have I killed? I mean, the Mudbloods who were attacked later!" Voldemort finally realized his biggest problem.
[You've already attacked Hermione Granger, Seamus Finnigan, and Colin Creevey. As for how many people you've killed, none of them seem to have died. They all turned into stone. Only...only Hermione has been cured, the other two haven't...] Goyle replied, now flustered, his writing all jumbled.
"No! That's not right!" A large line of text appeared on Voldemort's diary, the handwriting showing his agitation.
"Hermione and Colin should have died!" This line was even more frantic, with a hint of cursive.
After waiting for a few minutes, Goyle waited anxiously. A line of text appeared again: "There's another opponent! Another protector! Who is he? Find him!!!...Find him!!!...Find him!!!"
Voldemort repeated the last sentence three times. Goyle also felt the diary's rage. He timidly closed the diary, wanting to calm himself.
"Snap..." The diary opened by itself, with a line of text on the open page: "Find a chance to enter the Chamber of Secrets again! There are still some good things inside! But before that, ensure your own safety!"
"Thump..." The diary closed automatically, turning back into an ordinary diary, as if the previous text and conversation were just a dream.
Goyle swallowed. He uneasily picked up the diary, placed it in the wall crack, covered it with the bookshelf, and quietly slipped out of the dormitory.
After leaving the room, Goyle didn't look like the "Heir of Slytherin" at all, but rather fat, cowardly, and bullying, a standard "lackey" behavior.

At noon, Fudge left the school, and the officials also left, leaving only a few reporters still interviewing. No matter what the original story was, they wanted to create a hero and weave a story that their readers would want to read.
After Dumbledore returned to his office, an uninvited guest arrived—Lucius Malfoy.
He walked up to Dumbledore with a gloomy face: "You won! You've once again kept your position as headmaster."
"Lucius, if you really want to be headmaster, you shouldn't be here, but should do what a true heir to the headmastership should do," Dumbledore replied calmly—his tone full of "contempt."
"Then what should I do?" Old Malfoy asked, sitting casually on a chair, as if he treated the office like his own home.
"Perhaps you should donate more property to support the studies of young wizards—in that case, you would at least become an honorary headmaster," Dumbledore teased. "Of course, a few thousand Galleons is definitely not enough, at least hundreds of thousands of Galleons."
"Goodbye!" Old Malfoy didn't want to waste words and left the office immediately. Before leaving, he took a deep look at Dumbledore, who calmly returned his gaze.
