The Mountain of Ice and Fire

#937 - Act with swiftness and determination

Seeing the neurotic general draw his longsword, General Ian made a decision in his heart: no matter how much gold was in the Iron Bank, he would no longer do anything to betray His Majesty the King.

This change wasn't mysterious. Their plan was definitely not leaked, but the gods saw it.

Why would His Majesty the King's cavalry appear at this time? Besides a miracle, Ian couldn't find a second reason.

Ian wasn't afraid of death. He had fought hundreds of bloody battles and been injured countless times. He was fearless. The only thing he feared was divine will.

Ian believed that the King's cavalry's sudden and timely appearance in Braavos was divine will.

"Your Majesty, I don't want to hurt this general," Ian said. His tone was sincere, and his eyes were full of earnestness. He believed that injuring or killing the King's trusted general was not a glorious thing. After Ian changed his mind, his desire to compete with the neurotic general faded.

The Mountain looked at Ian. He saw Ian's sincerity. It wasn't that Ian was arrogant, but that Ian really had the strength. Polliver would not be Ian's opponent.

Ian's words, of course, made Polliver's face twitch even faster, and his breathing became rapid. His two cronies, Sweetmouth Raff and the executioner Dunsen, were equally unconvinced.

"Polliver, Ian is a general I value. You are not his opponent. Put away your sword. We have more important things to do."

The Mountain's words made Ian feel very comfortable and pleased. His Majesty the King said that Polliver was not his opponent, and that was his glory.

Polliver blinked his eyes rapidly in anger, and the right side of his face twitched even faster, but he had always regarded the Mountain's words as the highest order, and he obeyed without question.

Polliver heavily inserted the longsword back into its scabbard: "Ian? Your name is Ian, right? When I have time, I will definitely challenge you."

Ian smiled slightly and didn't bother to argue with Polliver.

The Mountain's words that Polliver was not his opponent made Ian feel elated. Being recognized by the unparalleled King made Ian more tolerant of Polliver's rude provocations.

Ian suddenly felt that he was too stupid. Where else could he find such a magnificent King to be loyal to? Besides fighting, what other skills did he have? In fact, besides fighting and killing, Ian didn't know anything else.

Fortunately, he reined himself in at the last moment, so he didn't have to risk his life to wander around the sea. Even if he really plundered a large amount of gold, the King would definitely ride a dragon to hunt him down everywhere once he found out.

Who could resist where the dragon went?

There was no way to resist.

The only way to survive was to escape to a place where even dragons couldn't fly, but was that possible?

There was no doubt that there were many uncertainties in escaping.

And now, the only thing Ian could be sure of was that the Clegane cavalry would be stationed in the military fortress. With three thousand cavalry guarding the gate of the Iron Bank, his three thousand troops and General Steven Clegane's one thousand men could not capture the military fortress. Even if they captured the military fortress, not many soldiers would be left alive.

And once they were at sea, having lost their powerful military force, the navy that came after hearing the news would easily catch up with them and destroy them into ashes.

Ian's soldiers came from all over the world. These mercenaries were all fierce, but when fighting against the King's elite cavalry, a considerable number of soldiers might not be willing. They had all sworn allegiance to the King, kneeling and submitting in the name of the gods they believed in. Of the three thousand soldiers, at least five hundred would not betray the King with Ian...

As Ian, who had survived hundreds of life-and-death battles in the arena, had long developed a meticulous mind. The thought of greed faded, reason returned, and various thoughts swirled in his mind. He quickly calculated the gains and losses, and cold sweat broke out on his back when he thought of the dangers...

Ian stole a glance at the Mountain. His Majesty the King was walking in front, talking to the three Clegane cavalry generals in the local language of Westeros, most of which Ian couldn't understand. He then aimed at General Steven Clegane, and found that the other party was also aiming at him. The moment their eyes met, Ian's murderous intent arose.

Steven knew that he had the idea of betraying His Majesty the King. Would he inform in advance? After all, the situation had changed, and the power to guard the Iron Bank would no longer be dominated by the two of them.

Should he persuade General Steven to give up that adventurous plan and eliminate the matter invisibly? Or should he kill Steven silently to silence him once and for all? Ian decided to find time to have a drink with General Steven again.

On the Iron Bank island, standing in front of the building made of giant rocks in a liquid state, the three princes were stunned. The huge, hard rocks were like thick, flowing black soup, and their flowing forms were different, presenting a huge and twisted black area.

There was no life in this black area, not even a single blade of grass.

The power of the dragon fire was unbelievable.

The three princes looked at the sky. The golden dragon and the black dragon were hovering and flying in the sky, and the pressure of the magic dragon fell down like a mountain, making the three princes feel suffocated.

"Great Your Majesty the King, does this area need to be cleaned up?" the eldest prince said.

"If it's not cleaned up, can a maze be built?"

"Yes, but it will take more manpower and material resources, and a longer time."

"Then don't clean it up, design this scorched land into the maze. Let the people who enter walk around and eventually return to this scorched land."

"Yes, Your Majesty, I will obey your order," the eldest prince said, stroking his left chest and bowing his head.

"Can we start today?"

"Today?" The three princes were all stunned.

"Yes, today, is it possible?"

"Yes!" the eldest prince said.

The King's words had irresistible power.

"Very good." The Mountain looked at Little Devil Tyrion Lannister: "Governor, you are responsible for allocating workers, materials, and sending doctors to assist the three princes in designing the maze map first. The huge maze on the Iron Bank island, I hope the construction area can occupy the entire island."

"Yes! Your Majesty the King!" Little Devil agreed immediately.

The Mountain, who had seized the Iron Bank, was not short of money. Since he was not short of money, recruiting workers and purchasing building materials was not a problem at all. The first consideration for building a house was not workers and building materials, but money, and the Mountain was not short of money.

"Three princes, if you need anything, ask the Governor directly."

The three princes agreed together.

The Mountain looked at Bean: "General Bean, you lead a thousand-man regiment to be responsible for the security of the Governor's Mansion."

"Yes, Your Majesty the King."

"General Ian, your thousand-man regiment will continue to protect the Iron Bank Island's wharf and stone arch bridge. The other two thousand-man regiments, one is responsible for the port and the Titan's lookout post, and the other is responsible for the outer defense and night patrol of the Governor's Island."

"Yes, Your Majesty the King."

"General Steven Clegane, you and your thousand-man regiment are responsible for the infantry defense of the military fortress, stationed in the east gate camp of the military fortress."

"Yes, Your Majesty the King."

"General Raffd, you lead a thousand-man regiment to be responsible for the defense of the Iron Bank gate."

"Yes, Your Majesty the King."

"General Dunsen. You lead a thousand-man regiment to be responsible for the wall defense of the military fortress."

"Yes, Your Majesty the King."

"General Polliver, you and your thousand-man regiment are responsible for the patrol outside the military fortress, setting up outposts, and exchanging information about the road surface and the sea with General Ian's outer defense line three times a day."

"Your Majesty, I can send a scout team to be stationed near the wharf and stone arch bridge. My scouts can report any suspicious situation they see on the stone arch bridge and the sea at any time."

The Mountain looked at Ian: "General Ian, do you agree that General Polliver's scouts are also at the wharf and stone arch bridge?"

"I completely agree, Your Majesty." Although Ian was a gladiator, his political awareness was not low.

These insights were taught to him little by little by the bloody life!

Soon, the Mountain clearly arranged the tasks of defending the Iron Bank and building the maze. With Sweetmouth Raff, Executioner Dunsen, and Artist Polliver stationed at the Iron Bank gate, the Mountain had no more worries about Braavos.

"Queen Daenerys, we will set off to return to the Westeros continent today."

"Today?" Daenerys was very surprised.

The cavalry camp had just arrived, and the King wasn't going to have a meal or a drink with the soldiers to encourage them? Judging from the Mountain's appearance, it was obvious that he had no plans in this regard.

"Leave today." The Mountain said, "The affairs of Braavos have been dealt with, and everything has been handed over to the Governor and the generals. With the three princes here personally building the maze, I am equally relieved."

The Mountain acted decisively and never dragged his feet. He was swift and resolute.

The accompanying Chief Commander Vincent and the naval generals looked at each other.

They had returned from conquering Lorath, but the King had not yet rewarded them for their merits. Since the naval corps had surrendered, the King had not given a speech to the soldiers at the naval port. The naval soldiers needed the King's attention and encouragement, which was very important to the morale of the soldiers.

Daenerys agreed to return to Westeros with the Mountain today.

The Mountain then looked at Chief Commander Vincent: "Commander Vincent, you gather all the important naval generals and cross the Narrow Sea with the warships from Westeros and dock at Gulltown Harbor. In Gulltown, the Lord will have prepared warhorses and guides for you, and the warhorses and guides will take you to the Westerlands to attend the wedding of Miss Sansa Stark and Ser Raynald Westerling."

"Go to Westeros to attend a wedding?" Commander Vincent thought he had heard wrong.

What was the King saying? Did the King know what he was saying?

"Commander Vincent, this is an order. I will fly to the naval port to give a speech to the naval soldiers before leaving Braavos, and then Daenerys and I will fly across the Narrow Sea to the Westerlands first. You will set off today and cross the Narrow Sea to Gulltown."

Commander Vincent was speechless.

He did not expect the King to let all the important generals in the navy cross the Narrow Sea to attend some wedding, which was simply absurd. Beforehand, the King had not revealed a single bit of information. Moreover, who was that Sansa or something, and did she have anything to do with Braavos? Was her wedding so important that all the important naval generals of Braavos needed to go?

"Uh, Your Majesty the King..."

"Don't talk nonsense, this is an order, pass it down immediately."

"Yes, Your Majesty the King, but, can you give us one more day to prepare a gift for...the wedding."

"Bring the best gift you think is best, I won't give you a day to prepare, you must set off today." The Mountain said without allowing any explanation.

"Yes, Your Majesty the King." Commander Vincent was confused, but his answer was clear. He couldn't understand it, so he could only treat going to the wedding as a naval battle - resolutely carry out the order.

Chirp!

A dragon roar sounded over the House of Black and White, and the Faceless Men, servants, believers, and monks of the House of Black and White all looked up at the sky.

They saw a huge golden-red ferocious dragon flying over.

On the back of the dragon was the mighty and invincible new ruler of Braavos: King Gregor Clegane.

"Elder Arya Stark, are you ready, we are leaving for Westeros."

Arya Stark ran out of the Elder Council's room and appeared in the courtyard: "Your Majesty the King, are we leaving today?" she shouted up.

"Yes, right now." The Mountain's dragon hovered over the House of Black and White, the dragon's wings blocking the sky, and the House of Black and White was shrouded in a shadow.

Arya looked up and saw the black dragon Drogon and Daenerys Targaryen next to the golden dragon.

"Okay, but we have to bring Bran Stark."

"I'll take Bran, you and Daenerys ride the black dragon." The Mountain said. His voice boomed in the low sky of the House of Black and White like a loud bell.

Bran's wheelchair was pushed out by a Faceless Man.

The dragon flapped its wings and landed on the square in front of the gate of the House of Black and White. Its huge body was taller than the towering gate of the House of Black and White.

Arya pushed Bran to the outside of the gate, and the Sheepstealer and the black dragon Drogon were already there. The Mountain and Daenerys were standing between the dragon and the black dragon.

"Your Majesty the King, I will ride the Sheepstealer with you, let Bran and Daenerys ride the black dragon." Arya said.

"Bran's legs and feet are inconvenient, I can take better care of him."

"You won't push him into the sea in the sky, after all, he used to want you dead." As an elder, Arya didn't have the cultivation and awareness of an elder, and she dared to say things that shouldn't be said.

"Don't worry, Arya, even if he is still Bloodraven, I won't push him off the dragon."

"He is not Bloodraven." Arya said seriously, "This answer will be verified when we reach the Westerlands, you won't doubt Queen Janny's magical abilities, will you?"

"I believe you, and I also believe that Bran is already Bran, not Bloodraven." The Mountain walked towards Bran Stark, "Bran, would you like to ride the Sheepstealer with me?"

"I would be happy to, but I'm sorry to trouble Your Majesty the King." Bran smiled. His face was handsome, and his smile was charming.
