The Witcher: Son of the Planes

Chapter 17: Attack of the Emerald Territory

One and a half months later, Emerald Territory.

Simon, who had purchased supplies, also returned, bringing support from the Marquis Jensen's mansion. During this period, the slave trader Barto also sent several batches of slaves.

The island has developed very rapidly. The castle has been basically built, and the walls are no longer wooden walls. Most of them have been replaced with stone walls. Two new shops have been opened, the Blacksmith Shop (run by Eric, who has the strength of a low-level knight attendant) and the Alchemy Shop (run by Ivan, who has the strength of a low-level magician apprentice).

The Emerald Territory has 5 low-level knight attendants, 3 mid-level knight attendants, 1 high-level knight attendant, 1 low-level magician apprentice, and 1 mid-level magician apprentice.

Military strength: 120 pikemen (Gavan and Gary are in charge, both are low-level knight attendants), 30 archery scouts (only good soldiers are qualified to learn archery, Joshua is in charge, low-level knight attendants; militia archery instructor), 30 musketeers (Kino is in charge, low-level knight attendants; militia musketeer instructor), 25 cavalry (all above the level of trainee knight attendants, Alex is in charge, senior knight attendants), 30 castle guards (Matthew is in charge, intermediate knight attendants; militia equestrian instructor), 1,200 militia training team (including 1,000 slaves, after the basic training is completed, they will be gradually supplemented with various arms or farmers. Robert August is the chief instructor, intermediate knight attendant; the training team is usually trained by Knight Gary).

Internal affairs structure: the castle has an administrative office, which is headed by Gandalf, and has a 100-member trade and transportation team (headed by Simon), an additional military supply and logistics department (headed by Knight Gavin), and August, a farmer who reclaims wasteland); and according to the existing development area, two villages are planned around the castle, one is located between the castle and the eastern forest, named Giant Wood Village; the other is located between the castle and the dock, named Sand River Village.

Three months is not a long time, Colin has completely adapted to life on the island, and he has grown up very quickly. He has felt the sense of qi a few days ago. The skilled application of the knight's breathing method has made Colin grow into an apprentice knight squire.

Colin knows that his days in the training team are numbered, and he will be reassigned soon. He hopes to join the archery scout team or the cavalry team, but where he can be assigned is not up to him.

A few days ago, I met Nora again. The thirteen-year-old Nora has grown up gracefully. It's a bit strange to say that people in this world mature very quickly. It is said that girls can get married at the age of fourteen, and Colin himself is only fifteen years old, no less than a 20-year-old man in his previous life.

Nora was very happy about Colin's growing strength, and she chattered with Colin a lot of things like "what young lady is messing in the baron's study again, what Benny and Master George are getting closer, or what Aunt Mary's cooking skills have improved again."

Listening to Nora's narration, Colin was very relieved that Nora had completely gotten rid of the sadness of her mother's death and integrated into this place.

"By the way, brother, Miss Helen seems to be reading some magic book recently." Nora suddenly said.

"Hmm? Magic? A new extraordinary path?" Colin thought.

"Nora, if you have a chance, take a look at whether there are any books about this world or the history of the principality in the Baron's study. We still know too little."

"Okay, brother, I'll tell you if I see it." Nora responded in Colin's ear.

Looking at Nora, who was very close to him, with her maid outfit wrapped in a figure that had already taken shape, and with the unknown good smell of Nora entering his nose, Colin touched his nose a little embarrassedly.

"Isn't it too evil? Nora is my adopted sister, not to mention she is only thirteen years old..." Colin has been practicing the knight's breathing method recently, and his strength has increased a lot, but he always feels that he has strength but nowhere to go.

"What's wrong, brother, are you uncomfortable? If you're fine, I'll go back first." Nora said innocently.

"Nora, you go back first, brother will sit for a while before leaving." Colin waved his hand and watched Nora leave.

...

Castle study.

"Master, Simon brought a letter from the Marquis." Gandalf said, handing the letter to Richard August.

"Call Simon in." Richard said after reading the letter.

...

"Master, you're looking for me?" Simon said.

"Simon, does the Marquis have any other instructions?"

"Nothing else, but Master Joseph seems to have angered the Marquis. Count Terry seems to be helping Master Joseph choose the noblewoman of the capital... Master Joseph seems to be still complaining about you marrying a lady that year." Simon replied.

"Ha, Lilibet and I are in love freely, what's the problem with him? In recent years, the Principality has been at war. Instead of fighting with the brothers, you go to the Empire to fool around, and you still have the face to complain about me." As he said, Richard recalled the past when he and Joseph practiced hard together when they were young.

As a knight of the Cavendish family, Richard and a group of family teenagers were trained and cultivated with Joseph since childhood, and their relationship was also very good. However, they were separated for many years due to the war in the Principality. Joseph went to the Empire to study for a few years, but Richard won the heart of Joseph's sister Lilibet, and Joseph has always been upset about this matter.

"Nothing, I'm going down, sir." Simon said after seeing Baron Richard didn't say anything for a long time.

Seeing that Richard didn't move, Gandalf waved his hand and let Simon go down.

Richard came to his senses, "Is Simon gone?"

"I see, sir, you have no instructions, so let him go down," Gandalf replied.

"What has Helen been doing lately?"

"Miss seems to be very interested in magic recently."

"Have you tested your qualifications?"

"It has never been tested. With my level, I can only teach her some basic knowledge. If you want to learn magic systematically, you must at least go to the royal capital. The atmosphere of the academy is good and suitable for a young lady to study."

"...Besides, she is still young, and Lilibet and I are a little reluctant to part with her. Take some time and give her a test to see if she has the qualifications in this field." Richard said.

"Okay, sir."

"What is this? Grandpa Gandalf." Helen August asked, looking at the crystal ball in front of her.

"Crystal ball, Helen."

"What is it for? It's quite beautiful."

"Aren't you reading a book introducing magic recently? This is a tool used to test whether you can learn magic."

"Is there really magic?" Helen asked curiously.

Looking at Helen's curious look, Gandalf didn't see any spells, and soon a ball of fire ignited in his hand.

"It's so magical." Helen said and wanted to touch it.

Gandalf quickly extinguished the fireball, "The temperature is very high, so let's test it first."

"How to test."

"Put your hand on this crystal ball, let your mind go, and you will get results in a moment."

Helen followed the instructions and soon the crystal ball lit up with blue light.

"It's the affinity with the water element." Gandalf thought to himself.

"Okay, Helen, that's all."

"Grandpa Gandalf, do I have this talent?"

"You can mainly practice water magic, and you can also practice other magics, but the effect is not as good as water magic. Unfortunately, I majored in mystery and fire, but some superficial knowledge is still relevant. If you are interested, I can teach you."

"Nora, Penny, do you know? Grandpa Gandalf said that I have magic talent and can practice magic." Back at the residence, Helen happily said to the two maids.

"What is magic?" Penny asked casually.

"I can't say, but it looks very powerful anyway. Grandpa Gandalf conjured a fireball in one go." Helen replied.

"Is it dangerous? Miss." Nora said.

"Probably not. Besides, Grandpa Gandalf is there. He will look after me."
