Chapter 58 The New Werewolf Professor
Wes and the new Professor Lupin quickly united their front. They were waiting for the Dementors to make a move. After all, as professors of Hogwarts, they couldn't make a move first.
Just as the two sides were confronting each other, several Aurors came over. They looked serious, dressed in neat uniforms, and their wands were neatly tucked on their waists.
The duty of these Aurors is to supervise these Dementors and ensure that they do not abuse their power when performing their tasks. Whenever the Dementors conflict with other personnel, the Aurors will intervene to mediate to maintain order and balance.
The Aurors were not surprised to hear that the two Hogwarts professors were trying their best to prevent the Dementors from entering the train for inspection.
They all graduated from Hogwarts and have deep feelings for their alma mater. They also disagreed with the Dementors' search of the train in their hearts, but due to their superiors' orders and duties, they could not publicly express their opposition.
Now, seeing the two Hogwarts professors stand up and stop the Dementors' behavior, they certainly stood on the side of the school without hesitation.
However, the Dementors were determined to search the train.
Despite the Aurors' constant dissuasion, the Dementors ignored them and were about to force their way into the train.
Weiss didn't want to waste time talking to these monsters, and a stream of silvery-white fog emerged from his wand. The fog rolled and surged, constantly changing its shape.
In the surprised eyes of the crowd, the fog gradually condensed and formed, and finally turned into a majestic eagle. The eagle spread its wings, and a high-pitched eagle cry cut through the sky, carrying endless majesty and power.
The eagle crashed straight into the Dementors. The Dementors felt the power of the patronus and immediately fled in all directions, and soon disappeared from sight.
"Okay, the matter is resolved." Weiss took back his wand and calmly comforted the staff in the cab and the crowd watching the excitement.
The Aurors looked at each other when they saw Weiss's performance. No one wanted to offend the professor because of the Dementors.
They exchanged glances, then made a tacit decision and let him go.
"Professor Lupin, the rest is up to you." Weiss said, and then he left with a flash of his figure.
After Weiss left, the students were in an uproar. They were talking excitedly, guessing what kind of magic Weiss used to repel the evil Dementors.
That magical scene was deeply imprinted in their minds and became the first legendary story of their new semester.
Weiss returned to Hogwarts after making sure that the Dementors dared not return. He walked through the familiar corridor, entered the hall, found his seat and sat down, quietly waiting for the opening ceremony to begin.
Dumbledore saw Weiss coming back, and immediately came over and whispered, "Well done, I will deal with the Ministry of Magic, you don't have to worry."
Weiss raised his chin slightly, showing a nonchalant look: "I never worry about the Ministry of Magic."
The opening ceremony was about to begin, and he tidied his clothes again to make sure he looked decent.
"Principal, you should be tougher, otherwise the Ministry of Magic will push further."
Dumbledore sighed slightly and said, "Fudge is too timid. If I am tough, he will think I want to usurp his position and may do something irrational."
Wes snorted lightly: "What a stupid and selfish politician."
Wes never looked up to the integrity of these politicians. In his opinion, politicians often ignore the overall situation for their own interests.
After the two talked for a few words, the students entered the auditorium one after another. The auditorium was very lively for a while, full of students' chirping.
The students talked about what happened on the train today, and looked at Weiss in the professor's seat from time to time.
The professors were all there. They looked at the students seriously or kindly, quietly waiting for the ceremony to begin, and occasionally some professors were talking in a low voice.
After everyone arrived, the annual opening ceremony officially began.
As the headmaster, Dumbledore stood on the podium with a solemn look. He specifically told the students that there would be Dementors patrolling near the school and asked them to be careful not to do anything that might cause misunderstanding.
"Dementors really don't know what excuses are. They are cold and ruthless dark creatures who only follow their instincts and the tasks assigned by the Ministry of Magic."
"But Professor Irwin repelled those monsters today. He summoned a beautiful eagle. What kind of magic is that?"
Although Fred was a little scared of Dumbledore's description of Dementors, he still bravely expressed his views.
The students began to talk about it, and the whole auditorium was in chaos for a while. The professors exchanged glances and appreciated Weiss's actions.
As the person involved, Weiss was the most calm. He sat there quietly, facing the approving eyes of students and professors, and there was no smug expression on his face. He just occasionally looked up at Dumbledore and waited for the opening ceremony to continue.
"Quiet!" Dumbledore used magic to amplify his volume and suppressed all the sounds. The students even had to cover their ears, and the hall fell silent instantly.
Dumbledore looked around the room and continued, "The Patronus Charm is a profound magic that is difficult for even adult wizards to master..."
He explained in detail the importance and difficulty of the Patronus Charm, and finally told the students to be careful of Dementors.
After the opening ceremony, Dumbledore invited Weiss and Lupin to the principal's office.
Lupin seemed a little nervous. He quietly looked at Weiss beside him, because he knew clearly why Dumbledore asked him to come to the office.
No mistake, one post, one content, one 6, one 9, one book, one bar!
"Principal, I don't think this is a good idea." Lupin was a little uneasy, rubbing his dry hands.
"Lupin, Weiss is trustworthy." Dumbledore comforted, "and you don't want Severus to get involved."
After hearing Snape's name, Lupin lowered his head in shame. "We did go too far at the beginning, I don't expect him to forgive us."
At this point, Weiss had guessed Dumbledore's purpose.
"Wes, I hope you can help brew the wolfsbane potion. I know your potion level is very good." Dumbledore made a new request to Weiss.
"Wolfsbane potion can help werewolves stay rational on full moon nights and inhibit their transformation, thus preventing them from losing their minds and attacking others when they transform.
The new professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts is a werewolf, and wolfsbane potion is vital to him."
"Okay." Weiss agreed very straightforwardly this time. His calm reaction was beyond the expectations of Lupin and Dumbledore.
For a long time, Lupin has suffered a lot of discrimination because of his identity as a werewolf. In the magical world, werewolves are regarded as evil and dangerous by many people. Although Lupin tries to control his werewolf nature, prejudice always follows him.
He had excellent grades in school and thought that with his talent and hard work, he would be able to find a suitable job after graduation and start a new chapter in his life.
However, the reality is extremely cruel. He hit a wall everywhere and could not find a job. He could only live a life of displacement.
In the past, with the help of his two close friends Sirius and James Potter, he lived a good life. However, since Sirius was considered to have betrayed them and the Potters unfortunately died, Lupin's world collapsed.
He fell into deep pain and confusion. The betrayal and departure of his best friend hit him hard, and he couldn't get out of this huge pain for a long time.
He wandered alone in the darkness for a long time, until this year, he became the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts despite the danger, with only one firm belief in his heart, that is, to protect Harry.
Harry is the child of his best friend, and he can't let Harry repeat the mistakes of the Potters.
He secretly swore: "Sirius, I will definitely stop you this time!"
