#133 - Strange Stories
Listening to the mournful screams coming from outside his satchel, the store owner huddled in the corner of his raincoat, trembling.
Had he accumulated several lifetimes of bad karma to end up in the hands of this terrifying fellow?
He pondered whether he had offended Lin Jue in any way recently, fearing that the other might secretly hold a grudge, and he might be set up at any moment.
Only when the screams outside ceased did he dare to peek out furtively through the zipper's gap.
In the pitch-black classroom, over a dozen corpses lay prostrate in gruesome states, the figure draped in a long black blood-soaked coat stood silently at the doorway, exuding an aura that chilled the heart.
A mere glance was enough to make the store owner tremble, as if staring directly at a demon from the depths of hell; this living person frightened him even more than the school itself.
Lin Jue took off his glasses, slowly wiping the blood from his face; at his feet, the ground was littered with bizarre corpses riddled with holes like beehives.
These students were all straightforward, their emotions displayed on the surface; with a little bit of thought, he could make them actively violate the school rules, while these ghosts' remaining sanity couldn't even conceive of exploiting loopholes in the rules.
Perhaps even the former headmaster couldn't have imagined that a living person from the real world would enter this school and unscrupulously kill ghosts by exploiting loopholes in the rules.
Now, eleven students remained in the classroom, all of whom were indistinguishable in appearance, making it impossible to tell whether they were living or ghostly.
They huddled together, squeezed into a corner, watching Lin Jue in terror.
This teacher was simply like a god of slaughter; the key was that they had no way to resist and could only be slaughtered at his mercy.
"Alright, everyone,"
Lin Jue put his glasses back on, a gentle smile returning to his face: "This is the first lesson your teacher will give you, called the Primacy Effect."
"Today's class ends here; you may return."
Lin Jue pulled open the door, then suddenly remembered something: "Oh, right, I'll leave you with homework—write an essay on your first impression of me, no less than 400 words; submit it to me before the next class."
The remaining students looked at each other, dumbfounded; they were already in this state, and they still had to write an essay?
"Write well, after all, your teacher has just used the lives of so many classmates to vividly demonstrate himself to you; don't let down the expectations of the dead classmates."
After leaving these words, Lin Jue picked up his backpack, dragged a ghostly corpse, and walked straight out of the classroom.
Only after he left did the students breathe a sigh of relief; this teacher was too terrifying, and completely unlike the other teachers in the school, he didn't play by the rules at all.
Is this really a psychology teacher? It feels like the more they attend his class, the more their psychology will collapse! This guy's actions are enough to give ghosts nightmares.
… …
Although the sun and moon could not be seen clearly in the mist, it was still possible to distinguish between day and night; by the time Lin Jue walked out of the teaching building, the surroundings were already completely darkening.
"This should leave a deep impression on those students, right? The rating for this plot should be quite high."
Lin Jue walked back towards the infirmary, the ghostly corpse he dragged in his hand constantly seeping blood, leaving a black trail on the ground; he said to the store owner in his backpack: "Old man, I've prepared a midnight snack for you; remember to eat it when we get back later."
The backpack shook, but Lin Jue waited for a long time without hearing the old man's voice.
"Old man, I think your courage needs to be practiced a bit more; look at those students, knowing that they were violating the rules, they still dared to bravely fight back against me."
Lin Jue persuaded kindly; it wouldn't do for the old man to always be so timid; he would have strength but nowhere to use it when the time came.
With this kind of courage, how could he be a security guard and protect the school's safety?
When he walked to the bridge in the middle of the artificial lake, the old man in the backpack suddenly issued a warning: "Kid, something in the riverbed is targeting you!"
Lin Jue stopped, leaning over the railing to look down at the lake below.
Under the murky water's surface, a dark shadow was rising from the bottom, like a large fish swimming up.
Night, a strange tale will descend, ignoring the rules, hunting the school's students and teachers.
Soon, ripples appeared on the water's surface, and a pale face, bloated like a steamed bun, emerged, revealing only its forehead and a pair of eyes, with the rest hidden underwater.
Those eyes were staring at Lin Jue venomously, as if considering whether to pull him into the water.
Lin Jue also stared at it, the two of them gazing at each other in the air, and then, the next moment, Lin Jue frowned and rebuked: "Which class are you from? Why aren't you back in the dormitory so late, hiding in the water? Do you know you've already violated the school rules?"
The old man in the backpack was about to speak up to dissuade him, but closed his mouth upon hearing Lin Jue's words; the ghost in the water's eyes also changed, half bewildered.
Isn't this teacher sick? I'm not a student at this school!
He was hiding in the water to hunt those teachers and students who looked weak; the previous guys either had a big fight with him or ran away directly, but no one had ever righteously told him that he had violated the school rules.
Perhaps intimidated by Lin Jue's aura, the ghost remained motionless for a long time.
Seeing this, Lin Jue held the raincoat in one hand and secretly grasped the dagger in his pocket with the other, changing his previous sternness to a soft and gentle tone: "Student, what reason forced you to hide in the water? Are other students bullying you?"
"This time, I'll pretend I didn't see your violation of the rules; come up, if you have any emotional hurdles you can't overcome, you can come up and chat with the teacher."
"I'm the psychology teacher, responsible for the mental health of all the students and teachers in this school; I just healed a dozen students with mental illnesses who didn't like attending class, and I helped them out of their psychological distress; now they can't wait to attend my class every day."
Seeming to realize that his previous tone was too serious, his voice became much softer, like a caring teacher patiently persuading a misguided child.
The raincoat in his hand trembled slightly, and Lin Jue understood that this was the old man's affirmation of his role as a teacher.
The thing in the lake finally couldn't bear it any longer, its baleful aura erupting, and suddenly burst out of the water, like a cannonball soaring into the sky, splashing a large amount of water.
Roots of black water plants stretched out from its body, turning into a cage, enveloping Lin Jue.
These originally fragile water plants had now turned into sharp blades, leaving white marks directly on the hard stone surface when they brushed past the railing.
"You really are a child, I spoke to you kindly, but you still attacked me."
Lin Jue shook his head, retreating backward, dodging the attack of the water plants, with a regretful look: "Your soul is completely twisted, even if my medical skills are high, I can't heal you."
Saying this, he shook the raincoat in his hand: "Old man, attack!"
The old man, who was suddenly thrown out, was hit by a water plant, wincing in pain: "No, what does this have to do with me!"
