Chapter 7: Wand and Daily Life

Magic wands, a huge amount of magic wands.

When Andrew stepped into the store, he was shocked by the room that was like an arsenal.

‘There are enough magic wands here to form a wizard army…’

Although he couldn’t estimate how many magic wands there were, just looking at the boxes in front of him, if each box contained a finished magic wand, the number should be at least a thousand.

While he was calculating how many magic wands there were, a crisp sound of bells came from somewhere behind the store.

Soon, an old man came out.

"New guest," he glanced at Andrew, then found Professor McGonagall behind him, and the smile on his face suddenly became bright, "Ah, Minerva, good morning, it's so nice to see you."

However, the greetings ended before they began, and the old man seemed to force the topic to change, "Then, a brand new wand - yes, that is essential."

"This new student at Hogwarts, I'm Ollivander, how should I call you?"

"Andrew Taylor." Andrew kept smiling, "Just choose my partner from these wands?"

"Of course, the best, forever loyal partner." Ollivander's smile became even brighter, and it was obvious that he liked others to call the wand like this.

"Great," Andrew couldn't wait, he raised his right hand, dispersed the magic power like he had trained several times in the orphanage before, and then grasped the void.

A long box twitched, then broke away from the shelf, and flew towards Andrew at a slow but firm speed. At the last section of the journey, it even went directly through the wooden box and flew directly into Andrew's hands.

He held the wand tightly, as if it was meant to be in his hand. A strange feeling came to him along the wand - as if it was not holding something, but that his arm suddenly extended a little.

"Incredible."

Andrew whispered in admiration. He stroked the wand with his left hand, and the magic power flowed out like water. Subconsciously, Andrew pointed the wand at the ground, and a blue light slowly poured out. The ground instantly turned into grass. The tender grass that just covered the soles of the feet felt soft, and it was impossible to tell what it looked like before.

"It's perfect," Andrew's face was full of shock, "I understand what you mean now, Professor."

"Indeed," Ollivander praised, "It's perfect, it's probably only once in a decade or so that you can see such a perfect match..."

"Acacia wood, dragon heart nerve, eleven inches... an extremely picky combination, and also an extremely powerful combination, Mr. Taylor."

"But as an old man, I still don't want you to choose your wand like this, because other parts of the wand just don't fit you so well, and they will try to attack the box that protects them under the call of magic... This is not good."

Professor McGonagall also had some embarrassment on her face - normal wizard families will tell stories about choosing wands, and students from Muggle families generally won't try to summon their own wands so familiarly. To be precise, children from Muggle families will not consciously develop their magic to the point where they can summon wands.

After a hurried apology, Professor McGonagall took Andrew away - after such a thing, Professor McGonagall suddenly felt that this child might be able to enter Gryffindor...

This made her even more ashamed and couldn't stay.

"Sorry, Professor, I thought summoning was to use magic to find the wand that best suits me."

Andrew whispered, he was really a little ashamed.

He had read too many novels, and he took it for granted that summoning his partner was to use magic to sense the wand that best suited him. Who knew that the wand shop would dismantle the boxes one by one to experiment?

According to Professor McGonagall's description, they measured the appropriate proportions and then slowly unpacked and selected the wands that met the range. He was extremely tasteless and unpacked a bunch of packages, picked out the wands and left happily...

"It's not all your fault," Professor McGonagall remained calm, "Okay, it's getting late, I'm going to take you back. I have to visit another family in the afternoon and bring them to Diagon Alley for shopping."

"Okay, thank you, Professor."

--

After putting Andrew back in the orphanage, Professor McGonagall left in a hurry. Andrew asked about it. There were not many students recruited from the Muggle world, which was the non-magical world explained by Professor McGonagall. But according to the fact that it takes half a day for each person, I'm afraid Professor McGonagall will have to stay in Diagon Alley for the next few days.

But this is not a big deal for Andrew who needs to return there - his most important problem now is that he has no money.

Yes... no money.

Even second-hand books are ridiculously expensive, which means that in the next period of time, in addition to learning a little about the content of the magic world, he must continue to wash out enough money for his second visit to Diagon Alley and the travel expenses to London.

As for the matter of earning and spending Galleons, it also needs to be put on the agenda urgently, but considering the price of reference materials, he decided to go to the second-hand bookstore again before considering whether to do it.

But all these can be put aside, even previewing textbooks to understand the magic world can be put aside. What he needs to do now is to return to his room and record all the questions and answers so that he can use them when he reviews them later.

"Andrew!"

While he was carrying things and calculating briefly, a sound that made his teeth ache came.

'It's over...'

‘I was too excited to go out this time and forgot to buy food…’

Sure enough, several naughty kids with sweat and mud on their faces came running with the sound. Andrew took a glance and confirmed that they were not crazy. Although their clothes were as worn as always, they were still clean and there was no sign of deliberate dirtiness.

“Mammy said that you were taken away by the professor of that school!”

“That’s right, they said you were taken to boarding school!”

“Not taken, but admitted. I’m just going to get the school robes and books this time,” he raised the bag of books in his left hand, “Here it is, there are some scattered things in it, which are easy to spill. I have to go back and put the things down first, then organize the books, and take you out to play in the afternoon.”

After thinking for a while, he added, “You go play first, and each of you will have an ice cream in the afternoon.”

The generous promise stopped the children who were originally planning to look for food.

A series of good things flew out, and the lively little guys rushed away again.

"Okay, let's start organizing it quickly," he smiled and shook his head, and began to record the morning conversation in shorthand. After confirming that it was correct, he took out a knife and glue from the drawer - he was going out to play in the afternoon, so he had to change the cover of the wizarding world book he wanted to read.
