Two Worlds: I studied at Hogwarts

#178 - Hermione's Method

It was during the time when Moon and the Giant Squid were practicing spells.

Having finished all the work for the day, Snape finally had ample time to begin analyzing the two newly acquired potion ingredients.

Out of a meticulous attitude toward potions, Snape did not directly use these two ingredients to brew potions after coming into contact with them.

After going through a complete set of thorough analysis procedures, Snape had a deeper understanding of the characteristics of the two potion ingredients.

"The fish of this strange fish can not only be used to stop bleeding, but also to make other wound medicines, and sedative potions may also use it."

"The shell of this conch has very simple potion characteristics, but it is more gentle. Using it to refine body-strengthening potions should be able to eliminate many adverse reactions."

As a Potions Master, Snape possessed potion knowledge far beyond that of ordinary people.

After analyzing the two materials, hundreds of suitable potion formulas had already flashed through his mind.

"These high-level potions can now be improved, but there are really too few materials."

Although Moon gave him ten plates of each material, it was far from enough for Snape.

"I can improve the most urgent potions first, and then find a way to ask that little wizard for some of the remaining ones."

"Perhaps I can also find a way to get a boat, and maybe I can find these materials."

After returning from the Black Lake, Moon took his class notes to the school infirmary on the second floor.

Because there have been more people catching colds in the castle recently, all the dozen or so beds in the infirmary were full.

Madam Pomfrey had been very busy these past few days. After seeing Moon arrive, she only told him to put on a mask before going to prepare the treatment potion again.

"This potion is really hard to drink."

Hermione had just been force-fed a large glass of Pepperup Potion by Madam Pomfrey.

This was a common potion that could treat colds, and after drinking it, steam would constantly come out of the patient's ears.

This reminded Moon of the Hogwarts Express.

The white steam was almost the same as the steam coming out of Hermione's ears.

"Haven't you seen enough? I'm already very angry from being tortured by this terrible cold. Do you know how much homework I've fallen behind on?"

For Hermione, homework always came first.

"Actually, there's no need to be so anxious. Haven't you already finished all the first-year courses?"

"Of course, but knowledge is constantly being renewed, and my head is still dizzy, so I can't remember anything from the book at all."

Moon had long known about Hermione's learning progress, so he wasn't surprised at all to hear Hermione say this.

Even though there were three thick books on the table next to Hermione's hospital bed.

After taking out today's Herbology notes from his bag, Moon handed them directly to her.

"You probably won't need the Defense Against the Dark Arts notes, so there's only the Herbology content."

"I knew you would be the one with the most detailed notes!"

Looking at the parchment that Moon had recorded for about ten inches long, Hermione smiled happily.

The reason why she refused Lavender's class notes was because she wanted to get the most detailed information.

And among all the classmates, only Moon could do this.

"Today's Herbology class learned about nettles. Most of it was practical content, but I used my memory to organize the practical steps, and I hope you can use it."

Moon patiently explained to Hermione.

"Don't worry, I can copy it all tonight, and I'll return the notebook to you first thing tomorrow morning."

After Hermione roughly flipped through the notebook, she looked at Moon with envy.

"To be honest, I really envy you for having such a memory."

"Actually, having it isn't all good, because there are some things you can't forget even if you want to."

Hearing Moon's Versailles-like speech, Hermione was a little depressed and didn't want to talk.

Moon didn't notice the subtle change in Hermione's expression.

He only looked at a sachet placed on the bedside table after the little witch mentioned her memory ability again.

This was a rosemary sachet that Hermione made and wore on her body after learning in Herbology class last week that rosemary could enhance memory.

According to Hermione herself, the effect of this sachet was very good.

And the reason why Moon paid attention to the sachet was because the way he wanted to solve the problem of concealing body odor was related to the sachet.

"How did you make this sachet? Its air permeability seems to be better."

In fact, Moon had seen many sachets, but Hermione's was indeed special.

Ever since this little witch put it on, she had been exuding the scent of rosemary flowers, which was very pleasant.

"Oh, it's mainly because of the fabric."

According to Hermione's explanation, Moon knew that the fabric for making the sachet came from a private tailor shop in London that specialized in custom-made clothes.

"I didn't like that dress, so I took it apart, and then I had this sachet."

Hermione was also very proud of her creation. Anyway, she felt that after having this sachet, her learning speed had increased a lot.

"I see. If possible, can you make one for me?"

"What? Do you also need rosemary?"

Hermione asked curiously.

"No, I want to put a kind of petal from the Herbology Club in it."

Moon was taking care of all 32 plants in the Herbology Club.

These plants would flower and bear fruit every year, and then new shoots would grow.

If some leaving seniors needed them, Professor Sprout would mail these herbal materials to them.

But some seniors left the herbs in the club after graduation and no longer inquired about them.

The material that Moon wanted to make a sachet this time was such a solitary plant.

A Vanishing Flower.

According to Professor Sprout's explanation, this was the only Slytherin who joined the Herbology Club and left it here.

Regulus Black.

Since graduating, this senior seemed to have forgotten about this plant, and hadn't sent a single letter.

"A Vanishing Flower? What kind of magical plant is that?"

As Hermione asked, she took out her quill and notebook from the small bag next to her.

She knew that Moon knew more about this, so whenever Moon said the name of a new herbal plant, she would take the opportunity to record it and fill her knowledge base.

"That's right, this flower is very special. After being crushed, it releases a magical substance that can deactivate the odor in the air, thereby achieving the purpose of eliminating and concealing odors."

Moon repeated Professor Sprout's original words.

"That's really amazing. It can be used to make fragrances or essential oils."

After recording the content, Hermione thought of the uses of this magical plant.

"That's right, that senior thought so too."

The reason why the Vanishing Flower was allowed by Professor Sprout to join the Herbology Club.

It was because Regulus discovered that this plant could mask the musty smell in some old houses and the odors on some wizards.

Moon didn't have any special smell on his body, but he wanted to prevent the sensitive sense of smell of enemies after transforming.

"Okay, I'll make a new sachet for you in the next two days."

After Moon explained the characteristics of the whole herb, Hermione closed the notebook with satisfaction.

"Thank you!"

"You're welcome, besides, you've already paid the reward."

Hermione said, patting the content she had just recorded in her hand.

In the eyes of this little witch, knowledge was more valuable than anything else.

"Okay, then you should rest early."

After Hermione agreed, Moon was about to leave the infirmary.

However, at this time, Madam Pomfrey, the school nurse who was already busy, stopped him.

"Mr. Scarlett, I'm so busy that I can't stop at all. Could you please go and find Professor Snape and ask when the new Pepperup Potion will be delivered?"

"Okay, Madam."

Moon would not refuse the school nurse's request.

This lady had taken great care of him since Moon came to the Charms classroom to practice spells.

As a temporary neighbor, she would often observe from the window of the Charms classroom to prevent Moon from encountering any harm while practicing spells.

After carefully asking Madam Pomfrey if she had any other requests, Moon went to the dungeons of the castle.

This was also the first time he had gone to Snape's office.
