Two Worlds: I studied at Hogwarts

#208 - The deal with Snape

The law Ron was talking about was the "International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy."

Ever since they discussed the Flying Carpet, they had been referring to this law as 'that law'.

According to Ron, the Undetectable Extension Charm was strictly controlled by the Ministry of Magic.

It couldn't be used for personal purposes, only by specific product manufacturers approved by the relevant Ministry of Magic to produce related products.

The reason it was said that this charm easily violated the Statute of Secrecy was because something similar had happened before.

Muggles saw hundreds of wizards crammed into a tiny tent and curiously went inside to investigate.

Later, they even spread the news everywhere.

In the end, Ministry of Magic personnel had to erase the memories of several Muggles to resolve the matter.

Also, if one wasn't proficient in the charm, it could lead to the failure of spatial expansion.

For example, if the charm on a package failed, the items inside could become chaotic and suddenly appear in large quantities in front of Muggles.

All of these things violated the relevant laws of the Ministry of Magic.

"Alright, it seems I'll have to think of another way."

"Actually, we have a tent like that at home. My dad bought it by registering as a Ministry of Magic employee. We always bring it on long trips."

After hearing Ron's explanation, Moon knew that obtaining a package with the Undetectable Extension Charm would be difficult.

Ministry of Magic-designated manufacturers and mandatory real-name registration made it very easy to expose Moon's secrets.

Especially since these types of items were very expensive. Even if he could register and buy one, Moon didn't want others to know he had a large amount of Galleons.

But as long as he thought about it, there would always be a way.

After the History of Magic class in the morning, Moon, not seeing Professor Snape, took the initiative to come to the dungeons of the castle.

Just as he raised his hand, preparing to knock on the Potions Professor's office door,

"Ouch!" The wooden door opened by itself.

"Stop dawdling and come in!"

Snape's cold voice echoed in the room. Moon didn't care about anything else and walked straight into the dimly lit room, seeing the potions workstation was very clean, all the materials had disappeared, and only the flames under the cauldron maintained a stable burn.

Moon knew that Professor Snape's improved potion should be nearing completion.

"Let me make it clear in advance, I haven't used up the materials you brought last time, so I won't be trading with you again."

Snape was standing in front of a bookshelf, looking through old potion records.

Noticing Moon's arrival, he still didn't turn around, only showing his back to the other person.

"Professor, I don't think you should jump to conclusions so quickly. This time, I've brought a completely new material."

Hearing Moon's words, Snape slammed the notebook shut and turned around, his eyes fixed on Moon.

"This is a special herb from my hometown..."

Just as Moon took a small packet of Selma flower powder out of his pocket and was about to explain, the packet flew directly towards Snape.

"Indeed, it's a new material."

Snape only glanced at it and had already confirmed that the material in the packet had never appeared in the wizarding world.

He took a few deep breaths, trying to suppress his excitement.

"Quick, what's it called?"

"Well, the people in my hometown call it Selma flower. It's a type that can..."

"No need to explain the effects, I'll analyze it myself."

Hearing that Moon wanted to explain further, Snape directly refused him.

In his opinion, the judgments of Muggles and young wizards were not worth believing.

Even though he already knew that Moon had a basic grasp of potion analysis, he would always only trust his own magic when it came to new materials.

After learning the name of the new material, Snape immediately walked to the other side of the potions workstation.

The tools for analyzing potions hadn't been put away yet, and because of Moon's appearance, Snape's frequency of using these tools had increased.

Quickly taking out a bit of Selma flower powder, he skillfully performed a magical analysis.

Only half an hour later, Snape closed his eyes in front of the cauldron of analyzed potion.

"The herbaceous plant is relatively short, about 10 inches tall, with slender stems, pale green in color..."

What Professor Snape was saying was the appearance of the herb that the analysis magic had transmitted to his mind.

"The leaves are oval and fuzzy, with irregular serrated edges and fine veins, containing magic, emitting a faint glow at night."

Listening to Snape's description, Moon knew that the level of the two's potion analysis skills was worlds apart.

When he analyzed the potion on the Night Owl, he only obtained a vague appearance and color of a flower.

Snape's description of the Selma flower was as if he had seen it with his own eyes.

If Moon didn't really know that this herb came from another world, he would have really thought that Snape had personally planted a Selma flower.

"This powder comes from the plant's flowers, with 12 petals, pale purple in color, and golden stamens. Its greatest effect is to prevent blood loss, repair bodily tissues damaged by magic, and remove chaotic magical energy pollution."

Speaking to this point, Snape suddenly opened his eyes.

He first looked at the Selma flower powder on the workstation, then looked somewhat regretfully at the improved potion in the cauldron opposite him.

"Why didn't you give it to me sooner!"

Snape said, slamming the table in front of him, a look of regret and helplessness on his face.

"Professor, I only thought it was a common hemostatic herb, I never thought it would have such a great effect."

Hearing Snape's description, Moon knew that Selma flower might have a great effect on his newly improved potion.

"A common hemostatic herb? How did you learn your Herbology? Couldn't you tell that its medicinal effect is much better than dittany's!"

Moon couldn't refute Snape's accusation.

Although he had long suspected that Selma flower had a better hemostatic effect than dittany, he didn't expect it to also have the effect of removing magical energy disturbances.

Seeing Moon standing there silently, just looking at him with clear eyes,

Snape sighed helplessly.

"Forget it, this time, even without it, the potion effect I wanted has already been achieved. Speak! What do you want to trade for?"

The potion Snape brewed this time was of a very high level, and the brewing time alone took half a month.

This was because he was very familiar with this potion.

Now, the appearance of Selma flower powder had given him a direction for further improvement.

This made him feel very comfortable, so he rarely showed a smile when facing Moon.

"Professor, if possible, I would like a batch of Plant Growth Potion."

"Growth Potion? Have you planted some rare plant again that you want to harvest quickly?"

Hearing Moon's words, Snape put away the Selma flower powder and looked up curiously at the young wizard opposite him.

He remembered that he had brewed Growth Potion last time because this young wizard had planted three magical plants.

Then Sprout entrusted him to brew half a standard dose of Growth Potion.

"Yes, Professor, I do have a magical plant that needs this potion."

Hearing Moon's sincere answer, Snape also suspected and even instructed Moon.

"I must remind you that Growth Potion can indeed accelerate plant growth, but it can also easily make plants dependent, so are you sure you want it?"

"Yes, Professor."

For Moon, the most urgent problem now was to save the Spirit Tree.

As a magical plant that had lived for 3000 years, a large dose of Growth Potion would only help it dispel the cursed energy on its body, and the so-called potion dependence was unlikely to form.

"Alright, then how much do you want?"

Seeing Moon's insistence, Snape no longer hesitated.

"Start with a hundred portions."

"How... How much?"
