Two Worlds: I studied at Hogwarts
#52 - Alternative method of learning small evil spells
Regarding Hermione's question, Moon didn't know how to answer.
Fortunately, the Petrification Charm he had cast on the tile quickly lost its effect, which gave Moon a little something to talk about.
"You see, it didn't last nearly as long as your spell."
Moon was telling the truth. From the time he finished casting the spell until the second time the tile fell and shattered, it was only about ten seconds.
Hermione's spell, on the other hand, lasted for more than thirty seconds, three times as long as his.
"Keep practicing."
Hermione took a deep breath, said this, picked up a thick book, and left directly.
Moon didn't stop her. He noticed that Hermione's footsteps were heavy, as if she had something on her mind.
It was already ten o'clock in the evening, and the surrounding students were returning to their dormitories to rest.
Moon, on the other hand, enjoyed being alone very much. He picked up the tile that was already in two pieces and continued to practice.
......
The next morning, Moon was still the first to arrive at the common room. After practicing spells for two hours, his roommates came out.
"Moon, what you're doing isn't right."
Ron looked at the tiles that were already shattered all over the floor and let out a wail.
"That's right, Wood wants us to get up at seven o'clock on the weekends to practice. I can't do it at all."
Harry chimed in. Since coming to Hogwarts, he had never gotten out of bed before 8 o'clock.
But as the Quidditch season approached, he had to respond to Captain Wood's call and spend more time practicing every day.
"Actually, if you want to get up early, I can provide a wake-up service, for free!"
"No way. I finally left home. I don't want to experience my mother's wake-up service again."
Ron often complained in the dormitory about a strange clock in his house.
According to him, there were nine golden hands on this clock, representing each member of the family.
The clock face also didn't have specific time markings, only some locations and things to do.
Among them were icons for home, school, work, lost person, off work, sleep, and so on.
As long as the hand moved to the corresponding position of the icon, Mrs. Weasley could know the specific movements of each person.
And what Ron hated most was when his hand moved to the wake-up mark, because then Mrs. Weasley would call his name over and over again.
Ron had complained more than once that the hand was definitely running fast.
Harry couldn't understand Ron's feelings at all. At the Dursleys' house, the alarm clock was his Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia banging frantically on the wooden door of the cupboard under the stairs.
And there was also the repeated threats and urging.
Because of this, he enjoyed sleeping in in the morning very much after coming to Hogwarts.
But now Wood was asking them to get up early to practice Quidditch, which made him have to consider how to stop the "bad habit" of casually turning off the alarm clock in the morning.
"Okay, if Wood asks for extra practice in the morning, I'll remind you to wake me up the next day."
Harry offered a good way to both sleep in on weekdays and not miss practicing Quidditch.
Moon didn't care about these things. Anyway, in his opinion, waking people up was just taking a few steps.
But seeing Ron standing aside still dozing off, Moon had to wake him up again.
"Ron, do you remember that I said last time that I wanted to learn jinxes?"
"You're not kidding, are you?"
Ron woke up instantly upon hearing Moon's question.
He had never thought that anyone would specifically want to learn jinxes, especially someone like Moon who couldn't wait to throw himself into studying every day.
"That's right, I remember you've mastered several jinxes."
"Of course!"
Hearing Moon's praise, Ron took it for granted.
In his opinion, among the entire first-year students, no, including the second-year students, no one knew more about jinxes than him.
As for the third year and above, that was the world of his twin brothers.
Under Moon's consultation, Ron listed the five jinxes he had mastered.
[Bat-Bogey Hex]
[Densaugeo]
[Tarantallegra]
[Tickling Charm]
[Furnunculus]
It wasn't known whether Ron's talent had been misplaced, but he could not only rattle off these jinxes, but also say when to use which one for the best effect.
"These are all experience."
Moon didn't know where this experience came from. Anyway, on the way to the Great Hall for dinner, Ron was still excitedly introducing them.
Jinxes seemed to be naturally very attractive to young wizards.
At the Gryffindor table during breakfast, quite a few people gathered.
Among them were first-year students from Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.
After listening, they also provided two jinxes that Ron didn't know.
[Locomotor Mortis]
[Hair-Raising Hex]
After learning the effects of the two spells, Ron was very willing to exchange them with the other party.
It wasn't until the class time was approaching that the young wizards surrounding Ron had to leave.
But the influence of jinxes continued to expand.
After the whole day of classes ended, Moon finished his Transfiguration homework in the library and hurried back to the common room.
Ron was already rarely surrounded by young wizards.
The first-year Gryffindor students, including Lavender Brown and Parvati Patil from the girls' dormitory, actually wanted to learn jinxes.
Even Hermione was sitting not far away. Moon noticed that although she had a book in front of her, she was listening intently to what Ron was saying.
"Oh, Moon is back. We can officially start."
Seeing Moon come in from behind the portrait, Ron couldn't wait to step forward.
After greeting everyone, Ron immediately began his first lesson.
"Don't be nervous......"
"Don't be so rigorous. Relax......"
"Who cares about the source history? As long as it works!"
Ron's teaching completely deviated from the syllabus. He didn't talk about the source of the spell, the pronunciation rules of the spell, or even require wand waving to be casual.
"That's right, just remember the general movements."
"Imagine the miserable state of the other party after being hit by the spell. That's the most important thing."
It wasn't until Ron said this that Hermione, who was sitting aside, finally couldn't help it.
"Ron, spells should be rigorous! Wand movements should be standardized! The attitude should be correct!"
In Hermione's opinion, Ron was completely irresponsible and giving random directions.
"Hermione, this is my territory."
Seeing Hermione making trouble, Ron issued an eviction order.
"This is the common room, and you've been teaching for an hour, and no one has learned it. Doesn't that explain the problem?"
"That only shows that there's a lack of sparring partners!" Ron argued.
"Okay, then I'll do it!"
Hermione angrily agreed, when suddenly a noise came from the table next to her.
Clang clang.
A wooden matchstick figure danced on the table.
This was the first jinx Moon learned tonight: [Tarantallegra].
"You see, there's nothing wrong with my teaching method."
Seeing the matchstick figure dancing non-stop, Ron looked at Hermione triumphantly.
The little witch took a few deep breaths and silently sat back in her original position.
Moon ignored the two's argument. He had been observing the matchstick figure on the desk.
Although the learning method of jinxes was very unconventional, it was very convenient to master.
You don't need to understand the principle behind the spell. As long as you follow the general movements and practice continuously, you can master it quickly.
Moreover, the duration of jinxes was much longer than the [Petrification Charm].
It wasn't until a minute later, when Parvati and Lavender also made the matchstick figures dance on the table, that Moon's jinx effect gradually disappeared.
