White-Robed Chief

Chapter 870 - Reincarnation

Panda Novel

At the wave of Zhou Huang’s arm, the two middle-aged men retreated and disappeared into thin air.

Cui Da let out a sigh of relief.

Zhou Huang said, “Zhao Dahe, it’s all on you now!”

Chu Li motioned a fist salute. “I will try my best.”

“Mm.” Zhou Huang waved his arm and his round body moved to a distance immediately.

Chu Li and Cui Da were the only ones left in the garden.

Cui Da gave Chu Li a cold stare.

Chu Li commented, “Surely, you didn’t think this was going to happen?”

Cui Da glared at him. “Isn’t it all because of you?”

“You were driven by Qin Huaichuan to do this.” Chu Li sized him up. “But, I really want to know, didn’t you think this was going to happen?”

“Humph!” Cui Da snorted and refused to back down.

He really did not think it would end up like this because he did it seamlessly. Who would have thought he had the guts to pull it off?

Cui Da was pretty accurate with a hoe and his actions could not be seen through the naked eye.

Golden Glow Grass was a spirit herb. With each of them a valuable asset, no newbie dared to pull one out to have a look. Even if one was identified to have a problem, the others would not be pulled out to confirm the issue. Five hundred was a huge number and with only five hundred and fifty planted, it would be a vital few that would make the cut to the five hundred target.

Chu Li asked, “What do you gain from helping Qin Huaichuan?”

Cui Da curled his lips. “Zhao, you don’t deserve to be a disciple of Great Light Peak!”

Chu Li was curious. “Why?”

“It’s because you’re ugly! None of the disciples of Great Light Peak is ugly!”

Chu Li burst out laughing. “It’s because of this?”

“Duh?” Cui Da snorted. “If you know what’s best for you, you’d save yourself the embarrassment and leave Great Light Peak or else there’s more coming your way.”

“I pleaded on your behalf for nothing?”

“Yes, even if you pleaded on my behalf, I will not let you off the hook!”

“Fine, if that’s the case, just wait until tomorrow to be sent to the torture chamber.” Chu Li shook his head.

“Humph! The torture chamber won’t dare lay a hand on me with my parents around!” Cui Da arrogantly snorted.

Chu Li shook his head and laughed. “If the torture chamber won’t lay a finger on you, why did you get down on your knees to beg!”

“Mind your own business!” Cui Da flew into a rage out of humiliation.

He could feel his face burning red as he recalled his actions earlier. He must have lost his mind. With his parents around, Elder Zhou would not dare try him apart from running his mouth. It must be all bark and no bite. Elder Zhou has a good relationship with his parents so surely, he would not punish him severely.

He was too much in fear to remember this which left Chu Li a chance to witness his embarrassing actions.

Cui Da’s resentment towards Chu Li grew at that thought.

Chu Li entered the house.

There were two rooms in the house; one accommodating the gardening tools while the other was a bedroom equipped with a bed, a desk, and a chair. Apart from a few Spirit Herb Scriptures on the desk, there was nothing else.

Cui Da already has his bags packed and ready to leave. He seemed to trust Qin Huaichuan’s judgment.

As Chu Li sat on the bed with his legs crossed, Cui Da entered and grunted. “Zhao, move away! You’re still not the owner of this house.”

Chu Li opened his eyes and listlessly gave him the side glance. “Come beat me then!”

“You!” Cui Da furiously stared at him.

He knew Chu Li was no match for him so he dared not to initiate a fight.

Hence, he harrumphed. “You won’t be arrogant for long, you’re no match for Senior Brother Qin!”

“You still obey him, a person whose martial arts was crippled?” Chu Li asked.

“Senior Brother Qin’s highly gifted. Even if he’s crippled, he definitely could cultivate and regain his level soon enough!” Cui Da snorted and returned a side glance. “Zhao, you think you’re all that? You can’t defeat Senior Brother Qin!”

“What martial arts is he cultivating?” Chu Li questioned. “I don’t think it’s Great Light Scripture, right?”

Cui Da answered with delight, “I can tell you this, Senior Brother Qin is so talented, he cultivated Earth Matrix and Reincarnation Scripture!”

Chu Li frowned. “Earth Matrix and Reincarnation Scripture?”

“I bet you never heard of it before?” Cui Da replied with disdain, “A country bumpkin from the outside like you wouldn’t know what the Earth Matrix and Reincarnation Scripture is. It’s a waste of energy explaining it to you!”

“Talk about it then.” Chu Li was not the least bit bothered. “How great is this Earth Matrix and Reincarnation Scripture?”

“Earth Matrix and Reincarnation Scripture can turn life and death around and does not fear martial arts being crippled. It strengthens each time it’s crippled.” Cui Da was smug.

Chu Li laughed out loud. “Then there’s no need for cultivation then, just cripple on! Cripple at each cultivation!”

“Of course it can’t occur too many times, “Cui Da added peevishly. “You’re really dumb!”

Chu Li knew from Cui Da’s mind that Earth Matrix and Reincarnation Scripture was capable of reincarnation at its highest boundary. It was a pity that this Earth Matrix and Reincarnation Scripture was not easy to cultivate with barely anyone able to venture into it, let alone mastering it.

Qin Huaichuan only dabbled lightly on Earth Matrix and Reincarnation Scripture but even then, it produced massive results. He could swiftly recover after his martial arts were crippled and return stronger than before. However, at his level, he could only be crippled three times at most and it would be irreversible after that.

Qin Huaichuan only needed two weeks to regain his martial arts.

Chu Li frowned.

Since Qin Huaichuan cultivated such an amazing martial art, he must have held a high position. No wonder Xia Xue sent him to Spirit Medicine Nursery. She knew it would be hard to investigate.

Such a talent that was no less than he would receive greater attention.

Chu Li said, “So what if it’s Earth Matrix and Reincarnation Scripture. It can’t be better than Great Light Scripture.”

“It’s as great as Great Light Scripture.” Cui Da snorted. “Anyway, you’re no match for Senior Brother Qin!”

“Fine, then scram.” Chu Li waved his arm.

Cui Da grudgingly glared at him before turning to take a seat in the garden outside the house to recover from his wounds.

It was the morning of the next day when Zhou Huang took large strides over.

Chu Li was standing in the middle of the garden and frowned while deep in thought. Cui Da’s face was pale as he stared blankly around him.

Disregarding the Golden Glow Grass around, Zhou Huang clenched his teeth and glowered at Chu Li. “Bast*rd, I thought you said you could save the Golden Glow Grass?”

He advanced to seize Chu Li by the collar and shouted, “This is how you’re saving them?”

There was not one living Golden Glow Grass in the entire garden. With all of them dead, the barren area seemed exceptionally spacious.

Chu Li shook his head and sighed. “I didn’t think my method wouldn’t work.”

“What did you do?” Zhou Huang barked.

Chu Li answered, “Chant scriptures.”

“What?!” Zhou Huang exclaimed.

Chu Li replied, “I realized chanting scriptures allows plants to grow luxuriantly and be filled with life. I didn’t think it won’t work. I guess there’s a difference between spirit herbs and common plants, or perhaps I wasn’t sincere enough.”

“Bullsh*t, chanting scriptures allows herbs to grow luxuriantly? What nonsense is this?” Zhou Huang was enraged.

He lowered his head to look at the dead grass around the garden. Not one Golden Glow Grass was revived. His heart was bleeding.

Chu Li sighed. “Elder Zhou, it’s my fault.”

Zhou Huang stomped his foot and bawled without tears. “Oh, my life! Oh, my life!”

Chu Li remarked, “Elder Zhou, I will try to be a little more sincere, surely these spirit herbs will grow exuberantly.”

“Bullsh*t! Bullsh*t!” Zhou Huang jumped up and down and shouted, “Don’t chant anymore scriptures!”

Chu Li shut his trap.
