Homecoming from Hogwarts

Chapter 1340: Tacit Understanding and Estrangement

Fool!

When Amostasi closed the door, locked it and turned around, he almost heard Bellatrix inside the room say this with a cackle.

However, Amosta was not angry. In fact, there was a sense of heaviness between his brows.

He sighed softly and then took a step forward.

Walking along the corridor on the fourth floor to another fork, soon the torches on both sides of the wall became brighter, and we arrived outside the school hospital, which was still bustling even in the middle of the night.

In the public ward, besides Harry, there were also several little wizards who had bravely entered the Ministry of Magic tonight.

Although they had experienced a fierce battle in the first half of the night, the students lying on the hospital beds were still in good spirits.

Frank and Alice were talking to Neville, and Arthur was with his three sons and a daughter.

Luna was reciting something about 'shivering maggots' to Hermione who was in the next bed. It was obvious that Hermione was a little helpless.

From time to time, she glanced at the ward where Harry and Dumbledore were, and occasionally she would glance at Ron and Neville covertly, with a hint of envy in her eyes.

The little vampire who had done such a great service tonight was not here, and she had probably gone back to her cellar.

In this environment, it was difficult for her to get some rest.

Madam Pomfrey was busy with a bunch of bottles and jars in the small office, apparently preparing blood-replenishing potions for the students. Minerva was helping her.

Overall, the atmosphere was joyful.

After all, they won a battle tonight.

The outcome of the battle was far greater than in any previous battles. Even the Battle of Diagon Alley was not as exciting as this. Voldemort's power was uprooted tonight.

For them, the matter is over.

But not for the Ministry of Magic, Amosta and Dumbledore.

One can imagine what kind of waves will be set off tomorrow morning when the entire wizarding world learns what happened in Paris and the British Ministry of Magic.

Another wave of direct descendants of pure-blood families who could shock the magic world with their gestures in the past have been arrested. Will the pure-blood family forces, which have just been appeased, strike back again?

Amosita immediately attracted people's attention when he walked into the office.

"The Death Eaters are all right, aren't they, Amosta?"

Mr. Weasley immediately left Ginny's bedside and looked at Amos Tower with concern.

"Everything is fine--"

Amosta gave everyone a reassuring smile.

"Bellatrix was a bit rambunctious, so I put her in solitary confinement in a classroom."

"That wicked witch!"

Alice, who was of a gentle character, could not help but look gloomy when she mentioned Bellatrix. She said angrily,
"Don't ever expect her to change her ways."

"I would not harbor such naive illusions."

Amosta said that he then walked quickly to the ward where Vitia was held.

"What do you think of that rumor?"

There was a moment of silence, and Ron glanced slyly at the ward door and said.

Hermione immediately cast an unfriendly look at Ron, and her tone was very arrogant.

"What nonsense! Those are just rumors spread by wizards who are dissatisfied with Professor Brian's reform measures to discredit him!"

"Oh, of course you would say that—"

Ron's gaze did not waver, he muttered nonchalantly,

"Because you like Professor Brain, just like you liked Lockhart back then, and you don't want to hear anything bad. The girls in the castle who like him don't want to hear this!"

There were bursts of laughter in the public ward.

The blush on Hermione's cheeks quickly faded, and her toes curled up in the quilt in embarrassment!
"You shouldn't say that about your professor, Ron—"

Mr. Weasley frowned slightly and spoke to Ron in a slightly accusing tone.

"If the rumors are true--"

Alice gently stroked Neville's temples, her tone full of emotion.

"This is a very cruel thing for Amosta."

The atmosphere in the public ward quickly changed again, becoming somewhat heavy.

"Like Dumbledore and Grindelwald—" Frank said.

"It is rumored that Grindelwald was once a close friend of Dumbledore, but he had to step up and defeat and imprison him personally."

The atmosphere became even more dull.

Celebrity anecdotes are what ordinary people enjoy talking about the most, but only God knows how the person involved feels about it.

The atmosphere in the ward where Vitiya was held was even more solemn.

In this suffocating atmosphere, even Fromide didn't reminisce much with Vitia. He just looked at this talented little girl who grew up under his own eyes with sadness.

But when Amosta entered the ward, the most nervous person was not Frommid, but Slughorn.

As he was old and couldn't stand staying up late, he was already leaning on his chair and was drowsy. But when he saw Amosta walk in, he immediately stood up from the chair, swallowed his saliva, and his complex eyes showed tension, fear, and relief.
"Just a moment, Horace—"

Amosta smiled gently at Professor Slughorn, then looked at everyone.

"I would like to speak to Ms. Cleona alone—"

Severus looked at Amosita deeply and walked out of the ward in silence.

"Vitia, she is just--"

When passing by Amosta, Flomid stopped and seemed to be hesitant to speak.

Amosta simply patted him on the shoulder, and then Flomid left with a sigh.

Only Amosta and Vitia were left in the room. Their eyes met in the dim space, but Vitia immediately looked away.

Amosta studied her.

Vitia, who is considered to be notorious in the British magical world, sat dignifiedly beside the bed, looking calm and not panicking. Even under the pressure of Amosta's eyes, she still kept her back straight, breathing evenly, and her posture remained elegant.

However, her fists resting on her knees, with their knuckles white from the force, betrayed her nervousness.

It had been less than a year since the two separated in the second game of the Triwizard Tournament, but when they met again, the gap between them had become even greater.

"You look pretty good--"

After calming himself down, Amosta sat down on the bed opposite Vitia and looked at her calmly.

She spent almost the entire six months in prison.

After spending several months in Azkaban and being imprisoned by Voldemort for several more months, most wizards would have become neither human nor ghost.

"I should say thank you--"

She and Amosta had run into each other all day long at Hogwarts, but that was in the presence of Alastor Moody.

Now that she appears in front of Amosta in her true form, Vitia always feels a subtle discomfort.

But she is much like Amosta, always hiding her true emotions.

"When I was imprisoned, you helped me take care of Flomid and the others. You had no obligation to do so—"

"If I tell you that I left them in Hogwarts in order to gain leverage over you, will you still thank me?"

Amosta asked expressionlessly, but Vitia, whose face was flushed by the bloody moonlight, just curled up the corners of her lips and said nothing.

"I came to see you because of something—"

Amosta narrowed his eyes, but still kept a straight face.
"I reached an agreement with Frommid. I brought you back from Voldemort, and in exchange, he helped me build a protection for Hogwarts.
Of course, he also said that your cultivation must be higher than his. If you take the lead, this protection will be more reliable. So--"

"I am willing."

Vitia's beautiful voice interrupted the end of Amosta.

There was a moment of silence, and Amosta pursed his lips.
“You need to sacrifice something.”

"Just consider it as atonement."

The corners of Vitia's lips twitched again, revealing a pale smile.

boom!
The noise outside the ward door ended this brief conversation that made Amosta feel a little suffocated.

"Since you agree--"

Amosta rose and left;

"I will apply to the Wizengamot and you will be detained at Hogwarts until everything is over."

After saying that, Amostra opened the door and left, and the scene that came into view was Sirius grabbing Severus' collar with an inexplicably sad and angry face.
