Chapter 29 Journey to Memory
Chapter 29 Journey to Memory
Soon, the Sorting Hat assigned everyone to their respective houses, until the last person-McGuffin Albert.
Then, there was that absurd farce—the Sorting Hat struggled to jump out of McGuffin's hands, and kept running away.
When Professor McGonagall trembled and froze the Sorting Hat in place, Snape seemed to have discovered something. His tone was a little trembling, as if he had discovered something, but his words seemed to have discovered nothing, "The Sorting Hat is not under a spell, nor is it in disrepair, is it? This...is it..."
Hogwarts' Sorting Hat was originally Godric Gryffindor's hat, and later it was a magical item cast by the four founders' thoughts. It used more ancient magic, not similar to insanity. What it watched was not a person's memories and thoughts, but the deep desires in the heart of the freshmen, the choices deep in their hearts, the essence of a certain soul, and the qualities he himself valued.
"It's exactly what you suspect, that there are certain thoughts in the mind of this newborn MacGuffin Albert, or some qualities in him that he himself is not aware of. It is these that make the Sorting Hat go crazy. Of course, this is only a hypothesis."
Snape turned around, his body trembling even more, "Albus Dumbledore! Do you know what you're talking about? Are you crazy? I thought you were still sane, but you actually thought this kind of thing could happen?... This kind of thing is unheard of, a Muggle-born little wizard who has known the wizarding world for less than a month, can actually drive the magic hat that contains the thoughts of four of the greatest wizards in history—crazy?! Escape?!"
"How is this possible?! What the hell is going on?!"
Snape questioned loudly, and even some words were logically wrong. This unreasonable thing almost made him think he had been hit by the Imperius Curse.
Dumbledore didn't answer. He could see that Snape already knew that there was only one explanation for this incident, which also proved his own idea on the one hand, and there would be things to come, and he needed to provide some suggestions from his perspective.
He gestured for Snape to be quiet, and read on.
The party continued, and the exquisite food appeared immediately, and everyone in the banquet scene ate it up. Snape stared at the Sorting Hat slumped on the stool, speechless.
The scenes in memory flow quickly.
In it Snape noticed that McGuffin Albert was looking up at the Professor, or Harry, with an odd slightly scrutinizing look.
until--
"Oops!" Harry put one hand to his forehead.
"This is?" Snape looked at Dumbledore suspiciously, he remembered himself - he looked up at the rostrum, and sure enough he was talking to Professor Quirrell, while watching Harry.
"Keep looking down—" Dumbledore motioned Snape's attention to MacGuffin Albert.
The two saw MacGuffin Albert secretly looking at Harry. After realizing that Harry had made such a movement, they glanced at themselves and Quirrell on the rostrum, as if they understood something, and then showed a bit of sarcasm and disgust on their faces.
Immediately, he reacted again. After carefully checking that no one was paying attention to him, he lowered his head and stopped looking around.
"Here it is! We still have a memory to enter." Dumbledore said, and within a few seconds, they were flying through the darkness again, and landed firmly in Dumbledore's real office.
"Impossible! Impossible." Snape whispered, recalling the last scene he saw in Dumbledore's memory.
What does Quirrell have to do with Harry?
Why does the scar left by Voldemort react like that.Could it be...?
And who is this MacGuffin? What did he find... Could it be?
How can this be?He's just an 11-year-old wizard!
Snape's heart was turbulent and full of doubts.
Dumbledore put his memory into a long-mouth bottle, then took down another small crystal vial from a side shelf, tilted it and poured someone's memory into the Pensieve, which was a rotating and floating silver-white substance.
"This is Professor McGonagall's memory. I have worked so hard to request the complete memory from Professor McGonagall. Please don't disclose it. After reading this memory, you may understand to a certain extent why the Sorting Hat has problems. It can be said that it is understood to be crazy to a certain extent, or you can find a certain quality in the little wizard McGuffin Albert that is different from our world."
Snape couldn't wait to go forward, this time he was the first to enter the memory, and then Dumbledore stepped into the scene.
They landed on a road in a Muggle residential area, surrounded by similar two-story residential houses, gardens, and lawns.
Overhead is the summer sky, without a trace of cloud, clear and blue, it is a very good weather.
Snape didn't see Professor McGonagall, and Dumbledore giggled when he noticed something.
"Professor McGonagall still likes it that way."
He followed Dumbledore's gaze and saw that on a street corner a few dozen steps away, a cat was observing the Muggles in one of the houses.
The Muggles in that house were having breakfast.
"This is the first time Professor McGonagall informed McGuffin Albert and his family about the existence of magic in this world. This is also the first time I watched this complete memory."
Dumbledore explained.
Sudden--
A muffled sound.
Then all these scenes disappeared and everything became dark, but within a short period of time, they appeared in other places.
The strong light stimulation made the two of them close their eyes, and when they opened their eyes, they found that they had come to a strange place.
In the whole room, there is only a small window near the ceiling, and all the doors are closed.
It was cramped because it was stuffed with a Muggle vehicle - a car.
Not far away, the only vacant place in the entire room was a large and cold long table—the Animagus conjured up by Professor McGonagall, the cat with different patterns around the eyes was being firmly tied to a metal table that reflected silvery white light.
On the wall and on the other wooden table next to it were piled and hung all kinds of Muggle creations that Snape couldn't understand, some of which seemed to be somewhat similar to his auxiliary tools when making potions, but seemed more complicated.
Some glass bottles, beakers, balances, utensils, test tubes, knives, etc., as well as books in other languages.
Snape immediately understood why Professor McGonagall was unwilling to let Professor Dumbledore know about this memory.
Even as an Animagus, as a wizard, Hogwarts professor, vice-headmaster, she was subdued by a Muggle, even briefly, even as a sneak attack, it was a shame.
Just as Snape was about to say something to Dumbledore.
There was a sound outside - the opening of the garage door, mixed with the voices of two children, a boy and a girl, came to their ears.
"Get out of the way, MacGuffin!"
"No! You haven't paid yet."
"Ignorance is repulsive, and stupidity reeks, and the combination of the two most repulsive qualities in you is unmatched. What do you think you look like now! Get out of the way! MacGuffin! Don't waste my time."
"No, has Emily with an IQ of 200 forgotten the contract we made? Say yes! I'll catch you the cat that looks intelligent and observes our house, and you will exchange half of your pocket money! Emily Albert!"
"Remember my IQ230, how many times do I need to say it, even a little brain cell in your brain can remember it..."
Snape watched as Professor McGonagall gradually transformed into a human form, broke free from the restraints, and took out his wand to expel the influence of the unknown potion on him.
Her face was flushed, and her veins were standing out inside the door, listening to the back and forth quarrel between the two outside.
These two little fellows have spilled the beans about everything.
"..."
Professor McGonagall waved his wand, and the garage door was lifted quickly, and the gears made a horrible and harsh sound.
The two people who were arguing outside were startled, and the quarrel stopped immediately.
Accompanied by the blunt sound of the car door.
Wearing an emerald green cloak, holding a wand, with square eyes and tightly combed hairpins, Professor McGonagall appeared in front of McGuffin Albert and his sister Emily Albert with a very bad expression.
