#117 - The Hand's Tragedy【1】
Night.
A district in Hell's Kitchen.
The Hand's largest base, according to intelligence, is hidden here.
This area seems to be a forgotten part of the city, or rather, a place people prefer not to mention. It's like the city's dark side, teeming with troublemakers.
"Is this the place?"
Thor, in a tailored suit, holding his hammer, stood on a high-rise rooftop, looking at a large villa in the distance, confirming with Phil Coulson beside him.
"Intelligence indicates that's it. But we shouldn't expect to catch them off guard; instead, we should be prepared for them to be ready for us."
Phil answered cautiously. Although S.H.I.E.L.D. had confirmed it repeatedly, no one knew if this probe had been exposed and noticed by the Hand's ninjas. Perhaps their self-righteous infiltration and raid were, in their eyes, prey delivered to their doorstep. After all, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s past performance against those ninjas was rather unimpressive.
Of course, this might also be good news. Perhaps the enemy felt they had a significant advantage and wouldn't quietly retreat upon noticing them. Their only concern and worry was whether S.H.I.E.L.D. would resort to heavy firepower, which they couldn't afford to use. Fortunately, this was a bustling urban area, and many large-scale weapons of mass destruction wouldn't be easily deployed.
If they had a choice, the Hand's five leaders certainly wouldn't want to provoke a large organization like S.H.I.E.L.D. They had their own enemies and their own ideals, and they had no intention of forming a feud with such a powerful and violent official organization. But unfortunately, S.H.I.E.L.D. had discovered the Dragon Bones buried in this city, and even dug them up. For the Hand's leaders, they could concede on other matters and consider the gains and losses, but the Dragon Bones, which concerned their very lives, were something they couldn't accept others interfering with.
They had been searching for the Dragon Bones for a long time in various parts of the world, including this city where they were highly likely to exist.
"Very well, may I proceed?" Thor looked at the agents vaguely surrounding the villa in the darkness, tightening his grip on the square hammer in his hand. He was itching to get started.
"Before you do, can I ask if you remember the attack plan we discussed earlier?" Phil felt uneasy. Knowing his extraterrestrial friend, he asked in advance. He feared that once he gave the go-ahead, this person still beside him would vanish in a flash, swinging his hammer straight into the villa.
Phil didn't doubt Thor could do it, and perhaps even faster than he imagined.
"What attack plan? Isn't it just me charging in to lead the charge, eliminating as many of those so-called ninjas as possible? I hope they can take a beating." Thor tilted his head, racking his brains, only to feel that his memory seemed to have blanked. He clearly remembered hearing those plans.
"Okay, simply put, those ninjas might have a way to revive, so go easy on them and try not to kill them all." Phil didn't mention the plan anymore. At this point, the so-called plan was just to start the fight. But there were some things he still needed to remind Thor of, focusing on the essentials.
"I can just kill them again." Thor was eager to try.
"No, I mean, just beat them half to death." Phil had to correct Thor's thinking. He knew his superior wanted living ninjas who were still breathing, not dead ones turned to ashes. Of course, if they could capture the Hand's five leaders, then this operation could be considered an overachievement.
"I'll control myself." Thor began to swing his hammer. Seeing that Phil had nothing more to say, he tossed the hammer, and the hammer flew with the man, crackling with electricity, rushing into the interior of the villa in the conspicuous darkness. Then Phil saw from afar that the window of the room where Thor landed suddenly lit up, with flashing electricity. Then half of the outer wall collapsed.
"What a demolition expert." Phil said with a faint smile, then acted as a relay station, receiving intelligence from various teams and relaying his superior's instructions.
...
"Wow, you can jump even better than me." Spider-Man swung back and forth with his webs in the midst of the chaos, occasionally launching a spider web, preemptively binding the black-clad ninjas who appeared in mid-air, or sticking them directly to the wall.
"Yes! Twenty-three ninjas in fifteen seconds, I'm awesome! Gwen, Gwen, did you see my..." Spider-Man Peter excitedly turned his head to find Gwen Stacy, who had come with him. A smile was on his face under the mask as he wanted to show off to her, but he saw a figure two meters tall that still sent chills down his spine. The figure was grabbing a ninja, skillfully binding him like a work of art with black threads.
Beside the figure were more than a dozen ninjas piled up, wriggling on the ground like silkworms.
"What did you say?" Quiet heard Spider-Man's voice, turned her white eyes to look at him, and asked.
"You're not going to suddenly go crazy again, are you?"
Peter cursed inwardly. He was too excited just now and didn't realize that Gwen had gone offline and Quiet had come online! Damn it, why is my spider-sense so slow when facing Quiet? She's the most dangerous one on the field! Is it just because Gwen is her host? The only thing he could pray for now was that Quiet was in her normal state, otherwise, he might have to consider escaping first.
After all, Quiet wasn't in her normal state, and it was as if she had a grudge against him. Although she wouldn't really do anything to him, he couldn't avoid a beating. She called it helping you increase your combat experience, being your sparring partner to make you stronger. It all started on that night at Oscorp Industries. She followed him all the way, and then when he stopped to ask her if she was taking Gwen home, she came up and beat him up, and even stole the Lizard serum can from his hand in the name of spoils of war!
"Hmm, there are several thoughts arguing, but it's okay, I can control it. As long as my emotions don't fluctuate too much." Quiet reached out again and grabbed a ninja who was slashing at her from the air, choking his neck and pulling him out. Her other hand ejected a black thread, wrapping around and around, with a dexterity that made Peter's eyes dizzy, binding him so tightly that he couldn't even exert any force to break free.
"Where did you get that technique?" Peter looked at the ninja who was casually thrown on the ground and used as a human caterpillar, and his eyes twitched.
"Where did I get it?" Quiet scratched her head in confusion. "It seems like it was from one of my former hosts? She was a fervent bondage enthusiast. I didn't copy anything from her, but I really liked the emotions she immersed herself in when she was working."
