American comics: Starting with Luke the Maker
#266 - The Beginning of Diversity: Infinite Treasures
Asgard, the Celestial Palace.
"You've gotten old," Loki said, looking at Thor, who had a stubbly beard and even a beer belly. He patted Thor's stomach, and a ring of fat jiggled through his clothes.
"No, tell me! This isn't me in the future!" Thor, with his well-built muscles and abs, covered his eyes, unable to bear to look at his future self.
"Strictly speaking, he's you from another universe, not you from this one. You may not necessarily become like him in the future," Queen Frigga said, patting her son's shoulder in a comforting manner. However, her gaze mostly fell on the future Thor, who had a weathered face and a single eye, as if he had experienced many things. Her eyes were full of love.
"So, in your universe, we're all dead, and Asgard is destroyed?" Odin, sitting on the throne, said in a low voice. This was a bit of a blow to him.
He had always wanted to avoid the arrival of Ragnarok, but in another universe, he still couldn't prevent the end of Ragnarok.
"It's my fault," the weathered Thor said, looking at his father with guilt. Seeing his living relatives in front of him, he felt a long-lost sense of family and emotion. Even Loki's face, with its full of sarcasm, looked much more adorable in his eyes.
"I really didn't expect you to die for me," the young Thor hugged his brother, only to be pushed away by Loki with disgust.
"That's not me!" Loki said with a look of arrogance, "I would only throw you down to hold back the enemy and then find a chance to escape myself."
"You're not wrong, you did well," Odin said gently, looking at the weathered Thor. He could feel that this son from another universe had experienced a lot, grown a lot, and become much more slippery. He sighed for him but also felt a little gratified.
"So, the Dark Elves haven't invaded yet?" After Thor finished his story, he looked up at Odin on the throne and asked softly.
"No, the Dark Elves' invasion is already over," Odin shook his head.
"The war here lasted longer and was more intense. The Nine Realms suffered great losses. Even Nidavellir was exiled," Frigga stepped forward, gently stroking the weathered Thor's face and replying softly.
"What about the Aether? Who has the Reality Stone now? Is it with Jane?" Thor asked the key question he wanted to know.
"That Midgardian mortal?" Odin heard this name again and glanced at the young Thor with displeasure. He snorted and turned to look at the weathered Thor, saying, "No, the Aether is still with Malekith. He's using it to forcibly extend his life."
"Then where is he? I must get the Reality Stone," Thor felt relieved. He planned to solve the problem of Malekith in this universe and then borrow the Reality Stone.
"No, you can't go looking for him."
However, the weathered Thor's request was met with Odin's unquestionable denial.
"Why?" the weathered Thor asked, puzzled.
"Because he's very dangerous now. He's been targeted by the Abyss. If you kill him, it will only give him some relief. But as the medium, you will be entangled by the Abyss," Frigga gripped the weathered Thor's hand, her tone a little nervous.
"What is the Abyss?" the weathered Thor frowned. He realized that Asgard and everything else in this universe seemed to have huge differences from his memories and experiences.
For example, his mother didn't die in the Dark Elf invasion, and Malekith didn't die either. Moreover, the land area of Asgard here seemed to be larger than that of Asgard in his universe! The divine power it contained also seemed to be more powerful!
"You'd better not know," Frigga shook her head, "It's a place of filth, with the characteristic of polluting all energy and material properties. If you're entangled by it, even maintaining a clear consciousness will be an incredibly difficult thing."
"But I need the Infinity Stones to save my universe," Thor scratched his head, looking distressed.
Odin and Frigga exchanged glances.
"Perhaps you should see someone," Frigga turned her head and smiled at the weathered Thor.
...
A group of people appeared in a spacious square. Dispelling the portal behind them, Strange led the group to stand on the ground.
"Record, record!" A floating drone-like machine flew over, scanning everyone and making various noises.
"Okay, okay, I have serious business," Strange waved his hand to drive the little drone aside and led the group towards a distant building.
"Teleportation is generally prohibited here. My authority only allows me to open a portal here," Strange explained to Stark and the others behind him as he walked forward.
The square was filled with boxes of various styles. In front, it was like a market, with stalls and various strange races mixed in.
"What's that? A demon?" The Stark from another world saw these strange life forms for the first time, which made him very curious about the owner of this place.
"Yes, Mephisto's subordinates, employees of the Energy Bank, self-sufficient, with no vacations, and no wages. Luke thought this was bad, so he overruled everyone's objections and made Mephisto pay them some pitiful wages. Of course, most of them can't get the full amount, because Mephisto can always find various reasons to deduct a little here and deduct a little there. But fortunately, they have collected a lot of things themselves and will regularly trade in the data dimension and this square," Strange glanced at the direction Stark pointed and replied.
"They will bring out some minerals and materials from the hell dimension. I sometimes come here to scavenge. Only here can I feel that I am a poor person who is not rich," the young Tony, walking beside Nick Fury, turned around and added a few words to his alternate universe self.
"What's that? Angels? It's too chaotic here," Captain saw some people with white wings flying in the sky. Their forms formed a clear contrast and conflict with the demons below.
"The angel groups from the heavenly dimension have just returned to the Nine Realms. Now they have joined Luke, working and working for him. The relationship between the groups here is different from what you know in your memory," Nick also slowed down and answered in a deep voice as Stark and the others approached.
"There are also the elves, dwarves, and some frost giants and fire giant prisoners from the Nine Realms. They were sentenced by Odin and sent here to do some service-oriented work according to their own power characteristics. For example, fire giants burn furnaces for the dwarves here. In short, you can see various races from the Nine Realms here, as well as some special species in the universe," the young Tony popularized, "It's nothing much after seeing it a lot."
"What are those dwarves doing? A parade?" Captain Rogers was obviously very interested in everything here. He spotted the dwarves who occupied a large area of the square in front. When he saw that the other party's height was much taller than his, but was introduced by Tony as dwarves, he was quite confused and surprised.
"They want Luke to help rebuild their home, Nidavellir," Strange answered this question, "The dwarves are the best weapon forging masters in the universe. They can forge artifact-level equipment. They have a special forging furnace in their home star system, but Nidavellir has been abyss-ified, polluting everything around it.
The dwarves are now working for Luke, and the Asgardian God King Odin has also paid money and materials for the dwarves to rebuild the forging furnace. They are urging Luke to start work as soon as possible."
"Luke is helping them find a suitable planet to transform," Nick obviously knew some news and added after Strange finished speaking.
A group of people took a ride on a retro vehicle and sped towards their destination.
"I never thought I would be able to see the combination of future and retro," Stark said, looking at the highly technological surroundings and the behemoth car he was riding in. The sensory impact was still very strong.
"It's just a small circle formed by the Silent City's groups. These behemoths have all been tamed," Nick said softly, looking at the behemoth pulling the car in front and the demon controlling it on the behemoth's body.
"Do you still have to pay?"
After getting off the car, Stark asked curiously, seeing Strange throwing two glittering, different-colored circular coins to the demon driver.
"Of course you have to pay. Some commercial circles have emerged in this city. They use a new currency. Generally speaking, if it's another race, you can choose to give cash or transfer it to their account opened in the Energy Bank. But demons only accept cash," Strange said as he went up the steps.
"Why?" Dr. Banner came over and asked this question.
"Because if you transfer the money to their account in the Energy Bank, the money in the account will be erased and transferred in various ways by their master, the lord of the hell dimension, Mephisto," Strange said the reason.
The crowd entered the building.
A cute little loli wearing a small skirt and carrying a big dog was blocking the front.
"Look who this is?" Seeing the little loli, Nick and Strange looked at each other, then bit the bullet and walked up with a smile.
"Do you want me to help you open the door?" Little Becky's childish voice sounded, with an expectant smile on her face.
"That's really too grateful. Speaking of which, according to the procedure, should I prepare a meeting gift for you?" Strange touched Little Becky's head and painfully took off a ring he was wearing on his hand and handed it to her.
Little Becky's eyes lit up. She reached out and grabbed the ring Strange handed over, gave him a sweet and lovely smile, and then waved a cloud of misty light, enveloping Strange and the others.
Under Strange's loud reminder of [don't resist], the crowd disappeared in place.
...
"Who was that little girl just now?" Stark, who had reappeared, looked at the cute little girl and couldn't help but think of his daughter.
"Who are you referring to? Little Becky? She is Luke's daughter, or rather, the original form of the Space Stone," Strange glanced around and replied.
"Does this look like a laboratory?" Dr. Banner looked at the various instruments and circuits densely packed around him and said tentatively.
"This is an observation room and a storage room. It is specially used to observe and store some valuable items," a gentle male voice sounded from above Stark and the others' backs.
The crowd subconsciously looked up and happened to see Luke, who was connected to several mechanical arms and suspended in mid-air.
"He is the Luke Field you mentioned?" Stark scrutinized Luke, who was slowly descending, and leaned closer to the young Tony to ask.
"That's right. He is also the current owner of the Infinity Stones you want," Tony nodded.
"Looks like you've encountered some supernatural things again," Luke looked at the two Starks, as well as Captain and Dr. Banner, who were obviously different from the Rogers and others in his memory, and raised his eyebrows slightly. Without careful observation, he could sensitively feel an aura of incompatibility with the existing world from these people.
"We heard that you have two Infinity Stones. Our universe has been ravaged by Thanos. He used the power of the Infinity Stones to erase more than half of the life in the universe and destroyed the Stones with the Stones. We want to go back to the past, back to the stage where the Stones were not destroyed, re-collect them, and restore the life in our universe that died because of the Stones," Captain stood up and explained and pleaded sincerely to Luke, "Can we borrow the Stones in your hand? Of course, after we restore our universe, we will return the Stones immediately."
"Are you sure you can still return to this universe? This is not time travel," Luke shook his head.
Stark and Captain were unable to answer Luke's question for a moment.
"Don't be discouraged. Although I can't lend you the Stones, I can teach you the technology to re-condense the Stones," Luke looked at the disappointed Stark and the others and smiled on his face.
"The technology to condense the Stones?" Stark and Dr. Banner all widened their eyes, looking shocked at Luke's words. They had never thought that the Stones could be condensed.
"What do you think the Stones are? As long as the rules of the universe don't change, they can be condensed and extracted. It's no problem if the Stones destroy the Stones. As long as there are no restrictions prohibiting the Stones from reappearing in any form, then the difficulty is not great," Luke clapped his hands.
Buzz!
A metal wall nearby suddenly vibrated. Under the gaze of the crowd, the metal wall opened to both sides like a door, revealing everything placed inside.
It was a light that shone like a brilliant starry sky.
It was a Stone storage room that shocked Stark and the others to hold their breath.
