Luke's private villa.
Getting out of the car, Luke, leading his people, strode towards the gate, pushed it open, and what came into view was a one-eyed man sitting upright on the sofa. At this moment, he was facing Rude, who was squatting a meter in front of him, the two of them staring at each other. Although the one-eyed man with the black eye patch appeared very calm under Rude's watchful gaze, his upright posture, his statue-like stillness, and his unblinking stare at Rude all indicated that his heart was not as calm and unwavering as he appeared.
Hearing the door open, the one-eyed man quickly turned his head to glance, and seeing Luke striding in with his clothes fluttering, he visibly relaxed a bit.
“Can you get this big guy away from me? I don't have any malicious intent.” The one-eyed man had just wanted to stand up when he was startled by Rude, who had also stood up and was crouching in a pouncing posture. He quickly steadied himself, and while sitting back down, he raised his hands to indicate that he had no malicious intent.
“Entering his private residence without the owner's permission, I don't think that's a friendly act,” Luke said. Seeing the iconic one eye and bald head, Luke recognized roughly who he was and knew that his previous actions had indeed been effective. But that didn't stop him from teasing the other party.
“I can explain,” Nick Fury thought with resignation. He really just wanted to test the waters, using S.H.I.E.L.D.'s technological strength to tell Luke that he shouldn't be arrogant and self-important, and then take the opportunity to see if he could recruit him.
After grasping Luke's whereabouts and determining that he would most likely return to the villa near the Heberon Industrial Park tonight, Nick Fury decided to make a preemptive strike. Entering the villa went smoothly. The security of the villa area was lured away and dealt with by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. The villa's intelligent control system took some effort, but it was still quietly paralyzed under S.H.I.E.L.D.'s intelligent system and technological blockade.
So, after confirming that there were no other life signs in the villa and confirming that it was safe, Nick Fury swaggered into the villa, and soon he encountered this mechanical dog with smooth lines all over its body, silver-white color, and a very intimidating appearance.
After the other party's claws easily scratched several claw marks on a metal plate without any effort, Nick Fury dismissed many of his small plans and became much more honest. Obviously, he also discovered that the mechanical dog staring at him was highly intelligent. He suspected that it possessed a certain intelligent thought.
This made him think highly of Luke's technological strength, at least reaching a level of importance comparable to Tony Stark.
“I have my credentials in the pocket of my chest. I am the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. I think the circle you are in contact with now should know what kind of organization S.H.I.E.L.D. is.” Nick Fury's tone was soft and gentle: “You can check my identity and credentials.”
Following Luke's return, Rack, after receiving a look from his boss, Luke, placed the large metal box he was carrying on the ground, stepped forward to Nick Fury's side, and following Nick Fury's instructions, searched a pile of credentials from him.
“Looks like you have a lot of identities. So many department credentials.” Luke looked at Rack, who had flipped through several credentials and walked closer to show them to him, and was a little speechless.
“It's my duty. Sometimes I need to use the identities of other departments. But I guarantee the credentials are real.” Nick Fury shrugged.
“So, your intention?” Luke motioned for Rack to put the credentials back in Nick Fury's pocket and asked.
“Before I state my intention, I would like to ask, do you know what kind of organization S.H.I.E.L.D. is?” Nick Fury asked instead of answering Luke. Without waiting for Luke to give a corresponding answer, he said to himself: “This world is not as simple as you see on the surface. There are many disasters in this world that people cannot understand and solve. S.H.I.E.L.D. is an organization dedicated to handling these dangerous things.”
“But that's still not enough. I want to build a powerful elite team with no weaknesses that can solve bigger problems. I have high hopes for you.” Nick Fury's intact one eye looked at Luke sincerely.
“Not very credible.” Luke certainly knew that Nick Fury was hiding a lot and hadn't said it, but he didn't care. He didn't intend to join that big boy organization in Tony's words right now.
“I guessed you would refuse. Like Tony, you always don't want to be bound.” Nick Fury spread his hands helplessly: “Believe me, no one in this organization orders anyone, and you don't belong to S.H.I.E.L.D. Usually you can still do your own thing, but you will only take action on some extremely troublesome matters.”
“I still refuse.” Luke's unwavering second refusal stunned Nick Fury, who had been expecting it.
“Then what if I give you orders? Large, generous orders, even more generous than the military before!” Helpless, Nick Fury finally took out his trump card. He knew very well Heberon's style and weaknesses in these five years. The style is continuous technological updates and expansion, and the weakness is the need for a lot of money. The annual investment in scientific research funds is an astronomical figure, but it is still not enough to make ends meet.
So, generally, if you don't talk about anything else with Heberon and talk about business, business that makes money, they will become exceptionally easy to talk to.
“Then I can consider it.”
“What?”
Luke's answer made Nick Fury's mentality a little unstable.
“I said I can consider it.” Luke repeated.
“Then…”
“Then have someone contact the Heberon Commercial Department later.” Luke interrupted Nick Fury's words and said in a light tone. With S.H.I.E.L.D.'s orders and the future new energy company, he had money to squander again.
“Okay, okay.” Nick Fury was stunned by Luke's rapid change, but he quickly recovered as usual, glanced at Rude, who was squatting down again, stood up tentatively, and when he saw that Rude didn't make any more attacking movements, he relaxed a little, and said to Luke: “Then I wish us a happy cooperation. I'll leave first.”
“I'm afraid Director Fury can't leave yet.” Luke's words made Nick Fury subconsciously vigilant and he reached out to grab the gun hidden in his waist.
“Why?” Nick Fury's one eye stared intently at Luke's face, trying to judge his thoughts based on the expression on his face, but Luke's expression was very normal, very calm, just a little gloating.
Soon, Nick Fury didn't need Luke to explain, because a capable middle-aged man in a police uniform had strode in with his people: “Too rampant! Too rampant! Little Luke, I will definitely not give the intruder a good time! Is it him? Cuff him and take him away!” At the end, Chief George Stacy's gaze fell on the astonished Nick Fury, and he guaranteed with his professional instinct that he had detected an extraordinary dangerous aura from this person.
Nick Fury watched helplessly as his hands were cuffed with two connected bright silver metal rings. Even with the state of mind he had cultivated over many years, he was somewhat unable to hold on in the face of this scene.
“You called the police?”
“Look at what you're saying, isn't it normal for me to call the police when I meet a bad guy?” Luke made way and watched Nick Fury being taken away by a group of police officers. It was impossible for him to worry, and he didn't think Nick Fury would suffer much. Maybe he would be taken out by S.H.I.E.L.D. as soon as he entered the police station.
Business is business, but when you encounter someone who breaks into your home without permission, the subsequent procedures that should be followed must still be followed.
