What is enlightenment?

The original meaning of Buddha in Buddhism is enlightenment, which has three meanings:

The first is self-consciousness, that is, realizing one’s own nature; the second is awakening others, that is, preaching the Dharma to save others; the third is achieving perfect enlightenment.

Among the three vehicles of Buddhism, Pratye Awaka Buddhism is based on the understanding of causes and conditions. It is also known as the Sutra Enlightenment Vehicle. It has no obvious rank and will not be mentioned yet.

The Sravakayana Buddhism is also called the Hinayana Buddhism, and it is the fruit of Arhat, which is self-consciousness and perfect enlightenment;

The Bodhisattva Vehicle Dharma is also called the Mahayana Dharma. After attaining Bodhi, self-awareness and awareness of others, it is the perfect level of enlightenment. Its position is equal to that of a Buddha but it has not truly become a Buddha;

Only when one has consciously awakened others and reached the point of perfect enlightenment and achieved the supreme and perfect enlightenment can one become a "Buddha".

The three great suns above our heads, Medicine Buddha in the east, Sakyamuni Buddha in the center, and Amitabha Buddha in the west, are the Buddhas of supreme enlightenment.

This world, and even the remaining twelve habitable worlds of Buddhist civilization, are the so-called novices (shaman apprentices), Vajras (formal wizards), Arhats (sages), Bodhisattvas (great sages), and Buddhas (a few special ones). Ninth-level great sage) is just a division of realms in practice.

It is not the division of fruition status in Buddhism!

Attainment status and realm are not the same thing.

Link had been confused about this before, thinking that attaining the Arhat state was equivalent to attaining the fruit of Arhat.

It wasn't until I entered the Bodhidharma Hall to practice meditation that I finally figured out what the two were really about.

To understand it simply and crudely, one cultivates strength, and the other cultivates both strength and mind.

Faced with the angry rebuke brought about by monk Nengqing of Ci'en Temple in Bianjing, Link's response was to take the root seal of Ksitigarbha and make a great vow, which was to declare to everyone that he would take the path of cultivating one's strength and cultivating one's mind.

He is also breaking away from most Buddhist temples and monks, indicating that he wants to practice the Bodhisattva Vehicle Dharma, and that he wants to enlighten others and achieve perfect enlightenment, so as to achieve the supreme enlightenment.

Furthermore, he raised questions and even scolded this world, the entire remnant of Buddhist civilization, and the three-wheeled sun above his head in the form of declaring great wishes.

"I am a poor monk who vows to save all sinful and suffering sentient beings to reach Bodhi and achieve enlightenment."

These words, spoken calmly and in a low voice, echoed repeatedly in the ears and hearts of Monk Nengqing, Monk Zailuochen, more than 300 monks, and Prince Guanglin.

There seems to be a response between heaven and earth.

The small square is located, peaceful and windless, quiet.

Monk Liao Chen opened his mouth wide and looked at Link in astonishment as he calmly walked down the stage after making his great vows.

He suddenly discovered that he was being conservative!

Master also kept it safe!

The junior brother didn't change after he recovered from his injury, but he was completely transformed, as if he was a different person!

Monk Liao Chen even began to believe from the bottom of his heart that his junior brother was the reincarnation of Master Wu Sheng.

Monk Nengqing, who came from Ci'en Temple in Bianjing and was a direct disciple of the abbot, was filled with mixed emotions of shock, horror and fear.

He wanted to point at Monk Liaofan who was stepping down from the lecture platform, yell at him, and continue to denounce Monk Liaofan as an evil heretic, an enemy of the Buddha, or an evildoer of the Buddha.

However, a powerful force came from nowhere and completely restrained him, making him unable to move, speak, or even move his eyes.

More than 300 monks have their own thoughts.

Some monks vaguely feel that every question and wish made by the monk is full of Zen and attracts people's yearning for it.

Some monks feel extremely disconnected, as if their true intentions are in conflict with the Buddhist education they have received since childhood.

Some monks are suffering so much that they think their hearts are numb and their wounds have scabbed over, but they are not completely numb and have no impact.

Things I have seen, heard, and done come to mind one after another.

Is the human world a peaceful Buddha land or a boundless sea of suffering...

Really blind and unable to see?

Some monks, like Monk Nengqing, looked at Monk Fan in shock, horror and fear, as if they were looking at evil heretics, enemies of the Buddha, and evildoers of the Buddha!

Prince Guanglin just wanted to cry at this moment.

Woo woo woo...

In the princess's boudoir, Jasmine's eyes were full of stars, looking at Link with love and pride.

This is her husband!

While she was still thinking about making a small fuss, she had already decided to do something major that would subvert the remaining foundation of Buddhist civilization.

Moreover, the three Buddhas who incarnated as the sun above their heads could not object to this important matter.

Not only can't you object openly, but you can't object in secret, you can only watch.

Because the three Buddhas achieved supreme enlightenment before the remnants of Buddhist civilization remained, they could ignore the current situation of the human world where Buddhist civilization remained, so they were aloof and did not walk in the world.

But we can't already ignore him and then intervene against Link.

That's digging your own grave!

All civilizations in the universe, especially the civilization of gods and demons at the top, say, "Look, come and see, we are slapping ourselves in the face, saying that the path we took back then was wrong. From now on, we are slapping ourselves in the face." It's fundamentally wrong.

And, is this just a slap in the face?

This is the fallacy of the road!

This is the collapse of Daoji!

The gods and gods of the immortal civilization, and the demons and demons of the demon civilization will definitely seize the opportunity that finally comes up and kill the three Buddhas with unstable Taoism in one fell swoop!

Lotus Snow, who was hiding in the dark, was also very surprised at this time. He never thought that Link would take this path.

This road is not only a broad road, but also full of mountains of swords and seas of fire.

Even when he puts himself in Link's shoes and thinks about how to break the situation and how to act, he tends to cause turmoil.

Otherwise, why would he sneak into Prince Guanglin's study and leave behind a seed that would incite civil strife in the Song Dynasty and even incite civil strife in several countries surrounding the Song Dynasty?

Not to mention overtly and covertly helping the cheap sister-in-law Jasmine to accumulate power.

Link, who was walking down the lecture platform, was not only calm on the outside, but even calmer on the inside.

What happened today was not an impulsive move made in a hot moment.

It was a decision made after careful consideration.

The more he learns about the situation in this world and the remnants of Buddhist civilization, the less Link wants to accomplish the task of cooperating internally and externally, defeating or even defeating the remnants of Buddhist civilization by starting a violent riot.

The three-wheeled sun stretches across the starry sky, providing light and heat to nourish the twelve livable worlds, but it is also the biggest constraint.

As long as the Three Great Suns are around, no matter how large the scale of the internal turmoil is, it will not be able to damage the remnants of Buddhist civilization.

It’s just a disease of scabies!

Unless the gods and deities of the immortal civilization, or the saints of the wizard civilization take action to contain the three remaining Buddhas of the Buddhist civilization.

Otherwise, internal turmoil will never have the effect of subverting the remnants of Buddhist civilization.

If the civilization of immortals and gods is willing to send out immortals and deities, and the civilization of wizards is willing to send saints, no matter the cost, to specifically deal with the three remaining Buddhas of the Buddhist civilization, what kind of "cooperation between inside and outside" will be done?

From this perspective, after Link entered this world by "Seizing the Body", he did not put any hope of completing the mission "outside".

In this way, it is inevitable to work hard on the "inside".

After ruling out the method of using force to start civil strife, Link thought about it and came up with the word "ideology".

It just so happens that the remnants of Buddhist civilization are just remnants, and the inheritance has not been discontinued, but has been deliberately confused and distorted.

This gave Link the opportunity and foundation to actually do something like "rectify the origins" under the banner of "rectifying the origins".

Under the strange gazes of everyone in the small square, Link walked out of the small square step by step and walked into the princess's house not far away. He stood outside the door of the princess's boudoir and spoke softly but the sound spread throughout Guanglin County. The prince said: "My princess is destined to be my Buddha. I wonder if your princess would be willing to go with me to realize Bodhi and achieve enlightenment together?"

"I do."

Jasmine agreed immediately, her voice timid.

After the words fell, Jasmine, who was wearing a suit that was convenient for mobility, ignored the maid's eyes, walked out of the boudoir, and came to Link's side.

The two looked at each other and left the Guanglin County Prince's Mansion side by side.

"No! Wuwuwu...don't!"

Prince Guanglin's eyes showed extremely strong emotions, and he wanted to speak out to stop Link from kidnapping Jasmine.

However, Lotesnow, who was hiding in the dark, had already taken action before and immobilized all the monks and Prince Guanglin in the small square. Naturally, his success would not fall short at this time.

According to Buddhist civilization, when a monk makes a great vow, there will be two results.

First, if the heaven and earth disapprove or do not agree, there will be strong winds and thunderstorms;

Second, if heaven and earth agree or agree, everything will be calm, and people who interfere with their wishes will be stopped.

Link makes a great wish, and it doesn't matter whether the world agrees or agrees to it.

Lotsino just agrees and agrees.

Therefore, the small square was peaceful and windless, and no one could speak, move, or cast spells.

It wasn't until Link and Jasmine strolled into the carriage and meandered out of Guanglin Mansion City that Lotus Nuo stopped.

Without the suppression, the first person to react was Monk Lingchen.

"Junior brother, wait for me!"

Monk Chen just heard a shout. Before he finished speaking, his whole body turned into a gust of wind, kicked up a gust of dust, and chased Link and Jasmine.

Is the question of practicing Buddhism and worshiping Buddha really held back by Monk Luochen?

Once a seed is planted, it will surely sprout.

As for whether difficulties will be encountered during the germination process, resulting in failure to sprout, that is another matter.

Obviously, the seeds of Buddhist cultivation in Monk Liaochen’s heart were not killed in their infancy.

More than a dozen yearning monks followed Monk Chen and decided to follow Monk Liaofan of White Horse Monastery. They wanted to practice Bodhisattva Vehicle Dharma and save all sinful sentient beings.

The thirty or so monks who woke up from their numbness hesitated for a while, but also chose to face their hearts, face the dripping blood, and took a step forward.

More than sixty monks who also woke up from numbness just yawned and continued to sleep. Their bare heads were slightly lowered, and their hands were clasped together, standing indifferently.

Monk Nengqing was furious and roared ferociously: "Evil! Heretic! Enemy of Buddha!"

Breathing heavily, the anger in Monk Nengqing's heart did not diminish, and he roared heartbreakingly: "Buddha's evil! Buddha's evil!"

Uh-huh!

There were still more than 300 monks in the small square, and the Prince of Guanglin County all looked at the ferocious-looking monk Nengqing, their eyes full of fear.

Monk Nengqing ignored him, the veins on his neck popped out, and he continued to shout: "The people in White Horse Chanyuan are undoubtedly the sins of the Buddha! The sins of the Buddha!"

Whoosh.

Like a frightened rabbit, Prince Guanglin quickly jumped out of the small square built for the purpose of recruiting a son-in-law for the princess, and rushed to his study, leaving only one sentence that echoed in the small square.

"Eminent monks, I am deeply ashamed of my poor reception. Please return on your own. I will send someone to Cheng Yi to express my apology and gratitude."

However, after Monk Nengqing publicly accused Monk Fan of being a sinner of the Buddha, Prince Guanglin did not care about his original intention of pleasing Buddhism, getting close to Buddhism, and attracting Buddhist forces as a solid backing. He only wanted to end the relationship.

Not only did he renounce his relationship with Monk Liao Fan, who abducted Princess Guanglin, but he also renounced his relationship with Monk Nengqing.

As the saying goes, one-sided words should not be taken lightly.

All the monks in Baima Zen Monastery make great vows, and the monks in Cien Temple in Bianjing can clear up the sins of the Buddha. They are all one-sided words.

Whose one-sided statement is more credible and whose one-sided statement can stand up is an internal dispute within the Buddhist sect and has nothing to do with him as a small Guanglin County Prince.

Being involved in such a whirlpool, I am afraid that the current emperor, who never wanted to return the throne of Song Dynasty to the Taizu line, would burst into laughter.

It’s better to be as far away as possible.

Lin Kecai, who walked out of Guanglin Mansion City, ignored the ferocious roars and reprimands of Monk Nengqing, nor did he deliberately care about Monk Liaochen and other monks who followed him.

He just led Jasmine, Monk Liaochen and other monks on their own, going against the path specially arranged by Jasmine.

Only this time, Link walked very slowly, taking each step step by step, as he always entered every village.

There are only three things to do after entering the village.

One is to provide help to the old, weak, sick, disabled, widowed and lonely in need without using any extraordinary power.

Either chopping firewood, carrying water, repairing houses, reclaiming barren hills, or cultivating fields...

And ask for nothing in return.

The second is to teach Buddhism.

It is not systematic, has no clear purpose, is not deliberate, says what comes to mind, and does not use ji (jí) crooked words.

In general, there is only one principle, which leads people to be good.

The third is alms.

Just like in the documentary about the practice of Dabei Temple in Liaocheng that Link had seen in his previous life, each family would beg for alms, and they would eat whatever the donor gave them, and it didn't matter if they didn't.

At first, Monk Liaochen and the other monks did not understand the intentions of Link's three actions.

Some people even started to waver.

But no one really quits midway.

As they walked step by step, passed each village, and completed each task, Monk Liaochen and the other monks gradually understood the true meaning of Link's actions.

Practice, both practice and practice.

Mere cultivation without cultivation is just an illusion. Mere cultivation without cultivation is easy to be biased.

Only when you practice and practice, practice and practice, and practice within practice, and practice and practice feed back and combine with each other, can it be true practice and great practice.

Self-awareness, awareness of Him, awareness of perfection.

Gradually, Monk Liaochen and other monks came to understand clearly the differences between the three, and also how to practice and attain the three.

When Monk Liaochen and other monks came to their enlightenment, Lin Kefa's great vows and practical actions, and Monk Nengqing's rebuke spread throughout the Buddhist temples in the Song Dynasty and several surrounding countries.

A true living Buddha?

Buddha's evil?

I can’t tell the difference for a moment!
