Bringing the Supermarket to the Apocalypse

Chapter 106 - Transaction

Tang Gong’s eyes stayed glued to Lin Feng’s hands and he was wide eyed as he stared at the small box that Lin Feng held. 

Although the box that Lin Feng held seemed ordinary, Tang Gong didn’t disregard it at all. Instead he carefully observed the box, careful not to breathe too heavily. 

Lin Feng opened the box and started taking out what was inside. 

One ring, two rings, three rings……

Lin Feng took diamond rings out from the box and lined them up one by one on the tea table. 

Tang Gong’s eyes were wide as he watched. He never expected Lin Feng to have so many rings. 

Five rings, six rings……

Lin Feng didn’t stop, but continued to pull rings out from the box. 

Tang Gong’s eyes grew even larger. It would be a good thing if Lin Feng could pull out two or three rings from the box. Tang Gong couldn’t even fathom the sheer number of rings. As the rings were lined up more and more on the tea table, Tang Gong felt greater and greater shock in his heart. 

Although the rings seemed insignificant, they were items that couldn’t be found anymore. If it was before the apocalypse, it would be dubious as to where all these rings came from. But this was the apocalypse and the apocalypse contained many different and strange things, so seeing this many diamonds wasn’t too shocking. It was impossible enough for there to be an apocalypse, and since the apocalypse had dawned, what was still impossible?

Lin Feng continued to pull out diamond rings until there were twelve on the tea table, then he stopped. 

The twelve diamond rings sat in a row on the tea table, and in the sunlight they released dazzling reflections and looked very resplendent. 

“Twelve Rings!”

Seeing the diamond rings in front of him, Tang Gong felt his heart flipping over inside him. Jackpot! This was the only thought running through Tang Gong’s mind. 

“These twelve diamonds are of the same shape, the difference is their settings. The diamonds have been set into twelve different rings in the shape of twelve different animals that represent the twelve animals of the zodiac. So these aren’t twelve individual rings, but one complete set.”

Lin Feng explained to Tang Gong when he finished laying out the rings. 

As early as after the visit to the Nanshan base Grand Auction House, Lin Feng had retrieved more jewelry from the supermarket. At that time he had chosen some more unique items to sell. The supermarket had a total of five jewelry stores which held around one or two thousand diamond rings. It wasn’t an unlimited amount, but it wasn’t a small number either. 

There was plenty of gold inside the jewelry cabinets, but Lin Feng hadn’t touched a single flake of it. This world also had gold, but ever since the dawn of the apocalypse, the value of gold had dropped tremendously. Gold had become virtually worthless, worth less than white crystals, so Lin Feng hadn’t wasted his time trying to take any out of the supermarket. 

But the twelve diamond rings that Lin Feng had brought out was a special item of one of the shops. Each of the rings portraying a different animal of the zodiac and all twelve forming a single set. 

This world and the old world had the same zodiac, so there wasn’t any problems with taking out this set of rings. 

“I’m not dreaming! Right?”

Seeing the incredible set of rings, Tang Gong started mumbling to himself. 

According to what he was promised before by the vice chairman of The Grand Auction House, if Tang Gong found a few more diamond rings, he could be promoted directly to the regional manager of Tianqi city. Now that he had come across this set of twelve rings, without a doubt, Tang Gong’s promotion was assured. 

Once Lin Feng had placed all the diamond rings on the tea table he placed an additional diamond necklace as well. 

The diamond necklace was two carats in size, larger than any one of the diamond rings on the tea table. In addition the necklace was adorned with other colorful gems, causing it to be especially dazzling in the light. 

Seeing all the precious stones on the tea table, Tang Gong was dumbfounded. He didn’t have words to describe his current emotions, and besides the excitement he felt, Tang Gong was left speechless at the sight. 

“Let’s negotiate the price!”

Lin Feng looked at Tang Gong and tapped his nail on the tea table while speaking nonchalantly. 

Lin Feng didn’t concern himself with the rapidly changing facial expressions of Tang Gong, but was instead interested in the value of the diamonds. The only reason he took the diamonds out at all was so that he could get money. 

“Cough…...Brother Lin, please wait a moment. I alone can’t decide the price of so many pieces of jewelry, I will instead report this to headquarters.”

Hearing Lin Feng’s voice, Tang Gong recovered from his stupor and drew back his excitement. He could only reply with a quiet voice. 

Lin Feng nodded, as what Tang Gong said made sense. The total value of all these diamonds, it was absolutely something that a small store manager like Tang Gong couldn’t take responsibility for. 

Lin Feng wasn’t afraid that the Grand Auction House would try to take his things either. Lin Feng could tell that Tang Gong was a cultivator, but merely a third class cultivator. If Tang Gong wanted to take care of Lin Feng it just wouldn’t be possible. 

If they wanted Lin Feng’s items, they would need to hurry up and pay him his crystals. Trying to find him and pay him a second time like before would be too troublesome. 

By the time they found him again, Lin Feng would already have enough crystals and wouldn’t need to cooperate with the Grand Auction House. If worst comes to worst and Lin Feng found himself in danger, he would directly enter the supermarket. With the crystals from the transaction and the resources in the supermarket, Lin Feng would be able to increase his strength enough to break free of any situation. Besides, time stood still in the supermarket, Lin Feng wasn’t concerned about any life or death struggles. 

Not only that, Lin Feng had a complete guise, he appeared to have a significant power supporting him from behind. If the Grand Auction House didn’t find out about Lin Feng’s true situation, they wouldn’t dare to rashly offend him. 

After being prompted by Lin Feng, Tang Gong started to use his apocalypse watch, most likely to contact his headquarters to discuss the price of the diamonds. 

If you only saw Tang Gong, you would see the excitement all over his face and his eagerness in communicating with his headquarters. But you could also see Lin Feng slowly drinking tea while minding his own business, looking cool and unhurried. 

The reason why Lin Feng was so calm was that he was certain that the Grand Auction House would buy this batch of diamonds. Wealthy undeserved bastards, this was a rude saying, but in this world it was the truth. 

“Brother Lin, the headquarters has agreed to purchase this batch of diamonds.”

After a while of discussion, Tang Gong put down his apocalypse watch and raised his head towards Lin Feng as he spoke. 

“The price that the headquarters has offered is two hundred thousand for each ring and a million for the diamond necklace. The total amount the Grand Auction House is offering is 3.4 million crystals for the diamonds. Little bro, how is this offer?”

The price that the Grand Auction House had offered had shocked Tang Gong. This was the first time that Tang Gong had seen a purchase of this magnitude in the apocalypse. 

“Not bad, since this is the price that your auction house has offered, I don’t have any problems with it.”

The price that they had offered was reasonable, Lin Feng nodded his head. 

“But besides the four hundred thousand white crystals, convert the remaining three million into yellow crystals.”

After Lin Feng finished his first sentence, he added another.
