Game of Thrones: I Created the Magic Web
#44 - Soul Sacrifice
Tyrion smiled without restraint.
Nine captives knelt on the ground.
Seven men and two women, all of whom had taken up arms and killed.
Fortunately, that bald man didn't die.
Tyrion happily pondered how to deal with this discriminatory bastard.
Yoren walked over, carrying a string of dangling heads.
“Thanks to Your Highness, the wild dogs are finished, and the walls of the Great Wall can have dozens more dog heads as decorations.”
Joffrey said, “There's no need to be so harsh. After all, there are two deserters from the Night's Watch among them. How can you say they are wild dogs, right?”
He looked at the two deserters.
The limp deserters didn't seem to have any intention of denying it.
Benjen snorted coldly, “Worse than dogs! They probably haven't forgotten my face yet. Your Highness, let me personally execute these two traitors!”
Tyrion interjected, “Leave the bald man to me.”
Joffrey didn't even agree, “Tell me what you know. Whoever provides more valuable information will live.”
A glimmer of hope for survival ignited in the eyes of the two deserters.
They already knew Joffrey's true identity. If they could get the Crown Prince's pardon, would the Night's Watch dare to disobey?
The two men's eyes met.
The bald giant rushed to Joffrey first, “Your Highness, I am indeed a member of the Night's Watch. Once, when I was patrolling outside the Great Wall, I encountered Others, and then… becoming a wildling was really a last resort.”
The other skinny man with a gray stubble was only one step slower, “Stiv, how dare you deceive His Highness? I, Warren, did do something wrong, but at least I dare to admit it!”
Joffrey looked at them expressionlessly as they tried their best to create a persona.
“Stop talking nonsense! I want information. What kind of people you are and what you've done doesn't matter.”
“Who is that skinchanger? How did you gather together? Why are you chasing us? What happened outside the Great Wall? Have you seen any other special guys?”
Warren immediately said respectfully, “Your Highness is wise. That skinchanger is called Varamyr, and the wildlings also call him 'Sixskins'. He originally had three wolves, a snow bear, and a shadow lynx, but he only brought the snow bear when he crossed the Great Wall.”
“Mance Rayder seemed to have recruited Varamyr, trying to resist the Others or the Great Wall, but not many people have confidence.”
Stiv interrupted.
“Many wildlings fled south because they were afraid of the Others, mostly in groups of a few or a dozen, but Varamyr forced several groups to serve him with the help of the snow bear. That's how we were forced to join.”
“As for why he attacked Your Highness, I swear, he didn't say a word.”
“Varamyr was very quiet along the way. Except for eating, his soul was almost always in the snow bear's body.”
“Oh, right,” Warren's eyes lit up, “When Varamyr was in the snow bear's body, his body could still speak. I've never heard of such a thing before!”
Hearing this, Joffrey was almost certain of the mastermind behind the scenes.
If the mental power is strong enough, one can control several bodies at the same time, but this skinchanger is obviously not qualified. Who controlled him, or even controlled him and the snow bear's body at the same time?
Joffrey could only think of the Three-Eyed Raven.
Good fellow, you have so much hostility towards me, you really don't know the immensity of heaven and earth.
Benjen took a step forward, “Speak! How did the snow bear cross the Great Wall? It can't climb the Great Wall or cross the sea on a wildling's broken ship!”
The two deserters were silent. They were not accomplices who crossed the border with Varamyr.
“Lord, I know.”
The tall wildling woman suddenly spoke, raising her head and giving Joffrey and Benjen a smile.
Benjen frowned.
“Speak directly, spearwife.”
Women among the wildlings who take up arms to fight are called spearwives.
As long as they are wildlings who take up arms, they are all enemies. Benjen would never have even a trace of mercy.
“Lord, I have a name, Osha. Also, let me advise you, His Highness hasn't spoken yet.” She knew who was in charge.
Joffrey knew her. In the original book, she was captured by Robb and later became Bran and Rickon's early guard.
“Tell me, Osha. I'm also very curious.”
“As you wish.” Osha was full of desire to survive, “I saw with my own eyes that Varamyr's snow bear came in from a certain abandoned secret passage in the Great Wall.”
Benjen became anxious as soon as he heard this, “That's impossible! Would you dare to point out that secret passage?”
Osha smiled, “Lord, I am very willing, as long as His Highness allows me to walk to the Great Wall alive, Osha will definitely find it for you.”
Joffrey's eyes swept over the other wildlings, “Does anyone else want to say anything? Now is the last chance.”
The wildlings panicked.
Escaping from their homes beyond the Wall and kneeling here quietly as prisoners, they were no longer independent and untamed free folk.
They kowtowed and begged for mercy.
“Lord, Your Highness, spare my life! I can do anything for you!”
“I am most familiar with the outside of the Great Wall, Lord, Lord Benjen, I am willing to lead the way for the Night's Watch and provide all assistance!”
“I have seen Mance Rayder, the Night's Watch needs me!”
“……”
“Your Highness, have mercy, I am willing to swear allegiance to you.”
Joffrey shook his head regretfully.
It was estimated that no more valuable information could be dug out.
Nevertheless, he collected more than thirty items of weapons and clothing from the wildlings before and after.
Although the retracing rune cannot directly probe the past of people and animals, many scenes can be seen through these personal items, and perhaps something can be discovered.
And that snow bear.
Although he saved the snow bear, it couldn't speak itself. He could only give the snow bear an information rune mirror and expect this guy to learn how to use it.
Joffrey tried to communicate with the snow bear through the information rune, but all that came back were emotions of fear and resistance.
“Uncle, this big dumb bear is for you. Talk to it more, and I look forward to your harvest.”
Tyrion immediately understood, “Good nephew, don't worry, with my guidance, I guarantee it will even remember how many mouthfuls of milk it drank when it was a child.”
Tyrion ran excitedly towards the snow bear. He finally had his own mount.
Joffrey gave Benjen and Yoren a look, “Get up, Osha, you can help us now.”
The six wildlings looked in horror as they were roughly tied up by the Night's Watch and knelt in a row.
The two deserters waited nervously for the final judgment.
Joffrey recalled the clues he had noticed in the past few months. It was time to verify this guess.
“Stiv, Warren, I regret that this is the last time I call your names. You shouldn't have betrayed the Night's Watch, and you shouldn't have lied to me.”
The two deserters collapsed instantly, saying something vaguely in their mouths.
Did they lie? Joffrey knew the answer.
Benjen finally got his wish and dragged the two traitors into the wildling ranks, one in each hand.
“Be glad that you can have such a clean death, without any pain, much better than your companions.”
Joffrey drew out Dragonflame, and the sword body ignited with a scorching red light.
“These three wildlings belong to me, you each take one, and when I count to one, everyone will do it together.”
Tyrion quickly stood behind the bald man.
Joffrey raised Dragonflame high and announced in a loud voice: “In the name of Robert I of the House Baratheon, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm, I, Joffrey of the House Baratheon, heir to the Iron Throne and Prince of Dragonstone, hereby sentence you to death.”
“Three, two, one!”
Dragonflame and the other five swords were swung down together!
Hot blood spurted out of the headless necks for several meters, and the mist steamed up. Eight heads rolled a few times along the blood stains, and their desperate eyes almost froze at the same time.
The consciousness of eight humans fell into eternal silence.
An invisible induction appeared, and then disappeared in an instant. The light of Dragonflame seemed to be brighter.
The invisible induction is Source Energy.
Joffrey took out the ruby hanging around his neck. After careful sensing, the Source Energy in the gem did have an abnormal increase.
He got the answer.
Source Energy is difficult to exist in the material world, but it can be stored by mediums such as gems, and can be absorbed by runes and converted into magic energy.
More importantly.
It can also be brought into this world by a person's soul or thoughts, even if only for a moment.
There is a way to profit from the magic net.
