Hogwarts White Knight
Chapter 59 The Party Begins
The process went much smoother than Gawain imagined.
Hermione almost easily convinced Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick to not only serve as instructors, but also to spend some time each week to personally guide their practice.
Harry was so successful in recruiting members to join the club that he was a little overwhelmed. Fortunately, Ron reacted in time, dragged Percy to help, and made an application form for the students to fill out.
Instead of letting them go and comparing who can tear Harry to pieces first.
"We have received a total of 34 applications now, mostly from the lower years of Gryffindor and Hufflepuff, but there are also some... you know."
Hermione flipped through the form and took notes carefully. She suddenly raised her head and looked around, noticing Malfoy secretly watching here, and lowered her voice.
Most of the applicants are from first to third years, with only one fourth-year Hufflepuff girl. As for fifth-year students and above, Gawain and the others are not currently open to apply.
"Blaise Zabini, Pansy Perkins, Millicent...because of Merlin's chiffon shirt, I thought Malfoy would stick his nose in!"
She counted them one by one with her fingers.
This makes Gawain feel a little embarrassed.
What they are raising is the banner of openness, tolerance, and mutual assistance. It is undoubtedly not a good thing to reject these people based on their impressions.
But do you expect these people to study seriously?
He would rather expect Professor Snape to wash his hair!
Suddenly Gawain thought of the experience of Flourishes and Blotts Bookstore.
"Hmm... By the way. We can send a re-examination letter to all applicants and ask them to submit a research report. It is not limited to subject matter or field, as long as it is original, no matter how inconspicuous it is."
Gawain looked at Harry, "Harry, I'm afraid you have to convince them on this matter. Hermione will also help, right?" He turned to Hermione again and confirmed that she nodded in agreement.
"We will display all research internally, and if Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick see it, they will definitely not be stingy with extra points."
"But, I mean, what if they submitted it too? You know, Malfoy could have borrowed someone else's report... He doesn't have that good of a reputation..."
Harry questioned.
"As for the rest, leave it to me."
The corners of Gawain's mouth raised slightly.
There was a spell he had wanted to try for a long time.
Afterwards, they decided on a Tuesday night for the first activity, so that it wouldn't conflict with Quidditch practice and astronomy class.
As for the senior student who was responsible for guiding the first class, Gao Wen shamelessly invited Penello and paid a small price.
——"Senior sister, I will invite Percy to come with me. Think about it, you will definitely not refuse after spending three hours with him, right?"
Although he was quickly kicked out of the Ravenclaw lounge by Penello, Penello "inadvertently" inquired in detail about the time and venue of the event.
What shocked Gawain and everyone the most.
It was Professor Snape.
He He...
For the sake of Merlin's princess dress...
actually...
Wash your hair!
In the Great Hall on Monday morning, Professor Snape was still wearing his black floor-length robes, his face was sallow, but his hair was no longer greasy in a ball, but neatly spread down.
"Melia! That old bat?!"
Ron even shouted out, and Professor McGonagall, who was also shocked, deducted 5 college points.
It's a pity that Professor Snape's terrifying aura seems to have turned into a physical entity, making people afraid to get close to him, let alone pat him on the shoulder.
“Is it because my hair is so greasy that it won’t hang down and I have to wash it?”
Gawain, the only insider, secretly guessed.
Before I knew it, it was already Tuesday.
After dinner, Gawain hurried to the event venue to arrange it. The originally empty room had been tidied up in a very orderly manner.
Around the room were several tall old bookcases, which were lent by Hermione after she "tactfully" asked Mrs. Pince.
Most of the bookcases are now empty, with only a dozen pieces of parchment left, contributions from applicants who agreed to the re-examination. But Gao Wen believes that there will definitely be more and more such materials in the future.
At the very back of the room was a large, bulky corner cabinet filled with a lot of messy things - cushions, dummies, joke props, etc.
After the generous Mr. Filch learned of Gawain's needs, he took the initiative to drag these out of the storage room and let him take them away. The only request was "Don't let me see them in the castle again!"
As for Mrs. Norris, who was looking at him with fascinated eyes, and Filch's pocket, which seemed to be bulging for some reason... no one really knew.
"Abyss has gained weight. It will be good for him to eat less canned food. Besides, he is a mature kitten. If he doesn't have a cat teaser stick, he should learn to play by himself."
Gawain swore he wasn't worried about the pillow's safety.
At half past seven, everyone was here.
Gryffindor's Hermione, Harry, Ron, Neville, Seamus, Dean, Parvati, Lavender, second-year Katie and another boy whose name Gawain forgot.
Ravenclaw's Teri Boot, Lisa Dupin, and a second-year girl who seemed to come from the East.
On the Hufflepuff side, there was only one girl in the first year, Hannah, but there were four people in the third year, but Gawain didn't know their names.
Only Slytherin.
Terrence Higgs.
A tall and thin second-year student actually passed the conditions set by Gawain and came here.
This is indeed unexpected.
On the door entering the room, Gawain placed a guard based on Miranda's parchment.
"I, Gao Wen White, promise that I will join this gathering voluntarily and will never discriminate, insult, or treat anyone unfairly based on any reason about blood or qualifications."
Anyone who wants to enter the room must read this passage. Anyone who tries to lie about their name will be sent to Madam Pomfrey without hesitation with a "densaugeo".
Of course, as long as the Slytherins call the right name, they can come in even if they don't say anything else.
However, when all other initiates agree with this statement, it means that that person will be labeled as such by others and become a "noble pure-blood traitor" even if he is unwilling to do so.
Gawain didn't think they would be aware enough, and would rather pay the price of social death for them, just to trouble him.
If there really is...
This person is either completely stupid, or he is a rare clean slate in Slytherin.
But Gawain didn't say much. Instead, he clapped his hands to attract everyone's attention and stood in the center of the room.
"So, let's get the party started?"
