107 The temptation between mother and daughter

At platform nine and three-quarters, an uneasy atmosphere filled the air among the parents who came to take the little wizard home.

Sitting on the train to Hampshire, Ace thought about the conversation he had heard.

It seems that for some unknown reason, the Daily Prophet rarely publishes news about the turmoil caused by Voldemort. In fact, this has not stopped since Ace and his friends started school last semester.

The students at Hogwarts were completely unaware of the undercurrents in the wizarding world. The behavior of the professors at the school made everyone think that Voldemort was almost silent.

The reason why there were not too many casualties was that the Ministry of Magic and the hidden forces had been fighting against them.

However, many people have witnessed scenes of fighting between the two parties.

Newspapers in the Muggle world published many accidents, such as car explosions, building collapses and sudden fires. Fortunately, there were almost no casualties.

Ace sat on the train and listened to the Muggles around him talking. They all wondered if some terrorists were causing trouble.

Ace pursed his lips and looked at each other with Stephen, both seeing solemnity in the other's eyes.

It seems that Lucius's graduation from Hogwarts is not a good thing. As a junior who is favored by Voldemort, there is almost no news about Voldemort in Hogwarts without him.

The heirs of other families are still too young, and the elders are not as mercenary and lustful as Abraxas of the Malfoy family.

Compared with Lucius, who was a staunch Death Eater, they really didn't have the capital to win Voldemort's favor.

The slightly relaxed mood at Hogwarts suddenly became heavy, and Ace sighed softly in his heart.

Stepping into Foley Manor, which was shrouded in lights in the snow, Ace finally had a smile on his face.

Weiwei appeared at the door and greeted Ace as always, "Miss, you are back!"

Hearing Weiwei's loud welcome, Cathy and Fielding quickly cleaned up the white moss that fell on the floor and cast a cleaning spell on the room that was full of potion smell.

When Ace followed Vivi into the living room, Casey happened to come down the stairs.

"Mom!" Ace showed a big smile.

Kathy quickened her pace and came to Ace. She hugged Ace tightly and hugged the daughter she had missed for nearly a year.

Looking at Ace who had grown a lot taller, Casey showed a pleased expression, "You have lost weight, my dear."

Fielding also came down the stairs, reached out and rubbed Ace's head, "It's fifth grade, it's time to grow taller."

Wrapped in woolen blankets, Mr. and Mrs. Foley and Ace sat on the sofa in front of the fireplace, tasting the exquisite desserts and delicious juice served by Vivi.

"...jumped into the lake!? This is really a suffering, in such a cold weather."

"But they swam across."

"It's great that the Triwizard Tournament was held, you know we didn't have one at that time!"

Ace told interesting stories about this semester, not forgetting to tell them that Stephen also went to Hogwarts.

The Triwizard Tournament was something the Foleys had never experienced at Hogwarts, and this game attracted them very much.

They all listened with great interest to their daughters sharing their life at Hogwarts. Even though they learned most of it through letters, it didn't stop them from hearing Ace talk about it in person.

Of course, they did not miss Mr. Snape, whom Ace mentioned from time to time. Casey saw the secret loss in Stephen's eyes.

Seeing the unconcealed tiredness in his parents' eyes, Ace thoughtfully proposed that he wanted to take a rest so that the Foleys could go to bed early.

Through the crack in the door, Ace could vaguely see the back of Mrs. Foley being helped up the stairs by Mr. Foley.

The father will be injured because as an employee of the Ministry of Magic, he participated in the Ministry of Magic to prevent Death Eaters from attacking magicians and Muggles. What about the mother?

Sitting on the edge of the bed in frustration, Ace wondered if his parents were doing something dangerous.

"Vivi."

She whispered to the person in her family who would never lie to her - Vivi, the house elf personally selected for her by her grandmother whom she had never met.

Weiwei appeared at the door almost immediately. Her big round eyes looked at Ace expectantly. She held her hands together, arched her back slightly, and said with a smile on her face, "Miss, you called me?"

Ace looked at Weiwei solemnly, which made her stand up straight involuntarily, suppressing her smile and feeling a little nervous.

Realizing that he was a little too heavy, Ace relaxed his body slightly, with a common gentle smile on his face, "Don't be nervous, Weiwei, I just want to ask my parents what they have been busy with these days."

"Same as usual, miss, it's just that my wife often goes out to attend banquets, and my husband is even busier at work."

"nothing else?"

"Husband, Madam fell down the stairs a few days ago and injured her leg...but she's almost healed! Weiwei gave Madam serious medicine!"

Ace was surprised, "Really?"

Weiwei didn't understand why Ace asked, but she still held her apron and nodded cautiously.

"The lady doesn't want me to tell you, miss..."

"I won't tell mom," Ace stood up from the bed, squatted down slightly, and his eyes were level with Weiwei's, "Thank you, Weiwei."

Weiwei's original reserved look brightened, her big round eyes gradually filled with tears, her hands rubbed the cute pink apron in front of her - the lady thanked herself!

Before Weiwei could get excited, Ace stopped her, "Go back, Weiwei, I want to rest."

"Oh, yes, yes, miss. Good night!"

Ace retreated to the bed, resting his head on the soft dark green pillows, staring at the bed tent with exquisite hollow patterns on the top of the bed.

"Isn't it like this?" She closed her eyes and sighed softly. It would be best if it wasn't like this.

Cathy, who was being supported by Fielding on the stairs, felt that Vivi had returned to her bedroom. They looked at each other, and the two of them showed a bitter smile.

I didn't expect to have to hide it from my children in this way.

Fielding picked up Cathy and carried her back to the bedroom while she glared.Holding Cathy's ankle distressedly, Fielding applied medicine to her wounded leg.

The original bone-deep wounds had almost healed, but the scars still remained in place, crisscrossing them, making the previously fair and smooth legs mottled.

The other leg was bruised from the impact on the stairs.

"I'm sorry, honey." Fielding put Cathy on his lap and hugged her tightly, his tone full of deep self-blame.

Casey tilted his head and kissed Fielding's cheek, with a gentle tone, "Don't blame yourself, Fielding, we are doing the right thing, we can't just let you take risks-"

"——Or do you think you can hide it from me?" She immediately changed to a proud tone.

As an outstanding student who graduated from Ravenclaw, Ace can say without hesitation that she can become the smartest Auror in the British Ministry of Magic if she wants to.

Don't just focus on the wisdom of Ravenclaws, their insights shouldn't be underestimated either.

"I know you want to protect me and Ace, but don't forget, Fielding, I am your wife and Ace's mother."

"Of course, Casey, for you and for Ace." Fielding stared at the woman in front of him, his dark eyes full of tenderness.

His purpose of voluntarily going into danger was never to become a hero or to protect the magical world, but just so that the people he loved could have some stability in the turbulent torrent.
