Chapter 387: Master Su

When did Su Shi come to the island? How long have you been on the island? It can be found in history. This is the celebrity effect!

Su Shi can be said to be a famous figure in the history of Chinese culture. Just like big stars nowadays, they are paid attention to by their fans. Even their words and deeds will be infinitely amplified.

According to historical research, Brother Dongpo was demoted to Hainan in April of the lunar calendar of 1097. He arrived at Changhua Army on July 4 and left on June 7 of 2. He lived in Hainan for nearly three years.

According to historical records, Mr. Dongpo landed from the sea near the old town of Chengmai County, Hainan, where there was the only Jieguan Pavilion in Qiongzhou Prefecture. At that time, Haikou was still a beach called Baishajin, and this Jieguan Pavilion was It's called Tongchao Pavilion, and below it is the official pier from Hainan to the mainland on the north coast.

After brother Dongpo landed, he first reported to Qiongzhou Prefecture, which is today's Haikou Prefecture, and then went to Danzhou, where he was exiled.

It stands to reason that Mr. Dongpo's original rank when he was a Beijing official was deputy prime minister level, but after being demoted to Huizhou for more than three years, his rank was naturally canceled long ago. This time, Mr. Su was appointed by the imperial court as "Qiongzhou Biejia". ", whose position is equivalent to the current department-level researcher, naturally he must first report to the department-level unit of Qiongzhou Prefecture, and then go to work in Changhua Army.

At that time, the post station in Chengmai County was named Tongchao Pavilion because "the tide follows the city". According to historical records, the pavilion is a square brick and wood structure with two floors and 8 meters high. There are four "Tongchao Fei Pavilion" embedded in the middle wall of the pavilion door. Dakaizi is one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Chengmai in ancient times. It has been renovated in the past dynasties, but it was a pity that it was destroyed by the wars of the Japanese invaders in modern times.

Since Tongchao Pavilion is a post station, it is a reception station dedicated to transporting official ships from the north and south sides of the Qiongzhou Strait. Although Dongpo was demoted to a department level, he is still an official, so the post station will naturally receive reception.

When Mr. Dongpo left Qiong, he naturally passed through Tongchao Pavilion Station. Perhaps he was filled with emotion. Mr. Dongpo, who was nearly 70 years old, was in the wing of the pavilion, looking at the sea from the window. At the request of the local officials in Hainan who were farewell, he wrote The poem reads:

The tired traveler has heard that the way home is far away, and his eyes are clear. The flying pavilion overlooks the long bridge.

I greedily watch the egrets crossing Qiupu, but I don’t realize that there is no late tide in Qinglin.

I want to live in Hainan Village for the rest of my life, and the emperor sent Wu Yang to summon my soul.

The sky is low and the falcons are nowhere to be found, but the green mountains are the Central Plains.

This poem is also one of the last two poems written by the literary master Su Dongpo in Hainan, and its title is the famous "Two Poems on Tongchao Pavilion at Chengmai Station".

Judging from this poem, Mr. Dongpo is not in a bad mood, and he is a little nostalgic for Hainan. If the emperor had not called him to return to Hainan, he would have died of old age. It can be seen that Mr. Dongpo felt about Hainan after living in Hainan for three years. The mood is different from when I came.

In fact, many times in life, the grasp of future destiny is unpredictable, and it is rare to find a master who has foresight.

Mr. Dongpo is a master and a famous literary master. However, in his late seventies, his family was separated and he was forced to be relegated to an island. It is natural for a scholar to feel frustrated and sigh with sadness and indignation.

When Su Shi and his young son Su Guo stumbled all the way to the Changhua Military Yamen, they were no longer as flamboyant and domineering as they had been in Kyoto, nor were they singing flowers and enjoying the scenery by the Sudi River in Hangzhou. The heroic posture of love.

When the Su Da writer and his son stood in front of Zhang Zhong, the military envoy of Changhua, his clothes were torn and his body was broken. His frustrated appearance made Zhang Zhong, the magistrate of Changhua County who was guarding the western corner of the desert island, sigh. !

Zhang Zhongguan was only an upright person when he was appointed as the county magistrate. However, this cultural man who was born as a Jinshi, although he did not have a big official career, was also a lover of literature. Of course, all officials at that time were from literary backgrounds, reciting poems and writing lyrics. That is the basic skill of the examiner.

Zhang Zhong was from Fujian. He was able to pass the Jinshi examination, but he was only awarded a county magistrate. This shows that he had no social and official background.

However, Magistrate Zhang, who has always been fond of literature since he was a child, has always admired Su Dongpo, and in current terms, he is a die-hard fan of Master Su.

When Zhang Zhong applied for the examination in Kyoto, he was not qualified to look up at the heroic figure of Master Su from a distance. Now decades have passed, and the master he admired at that time has suffered misfortune and is now in the place where he works. Faced with such closeness.

Zhang Zhong, the father-in-law of the Changhua Army who was a scholar, was very sympathetic to Su Dongpo's exile in Hainan.

Su Shi came to Changhua Army with the title of "Don't drive in Qiongzhou", which is equivalent to the mayor's assistant, but a discerning person can tell at a glance that it is a false position. After all, Su Shi once served as deputy prime minister, and now he has taken a temporary job in a county-level unit. There is no power in the empty position. Moreover, Su Shi, who was demoted to Changhua and was demoted to Changhua, still had three injunctions:

Not allowed to eat official food, not allowed to live in official residences, not allowed to sign official documents,

Although he had a small salary and was not dismissed from office for committing a crime, anyone with a discerning eye could see that Su Shi was a prisoner who came here to undergo labor reform. Many leaders in the Song Dynasty at that time had been reformed in this way.

However, Zhang Zhong, who was very popular in literature, ignored the red-headed document and did not treat Dongpo as a labor reform prisoner. Instead, he showed the respectful attitude of a literary young man to a literary master and the righteous chivalry of an official: "This is the country of the sea. A strange man, the official lives next to me in the east."

Zhang Zhong not only provided good wine and meat, but also often asked for advice on official matters, which finally gave Su Shi, a neglected writer with little talent, some comfort.

However, the good times did not last long.

Half a year later, Mr. Dongpo's political opponents heard about this and sent envoys across the sea. They first dismissed Zhang Zhong from his official position, and then expelled Su Shi and his son from their official residences. The future of a small scholar who had become a great literary giant was ruined. Zhang Zhong had no choice but to pack up and leave.

The Su Da writer felt guilty for his friend who had taken care of him when he was in trouble and was implicated. He had no good solution, so he had to write a poem "Send Zhang Zhong, the envoy of the Changhua Army, to dismiss his official post and go to Que" as a farewell to him. I was also grateful, so later generations learned about this chivalrous story through the poems left by Su Da writers.

After Su Shi was kicked out of his official residence and lost his source of income, he had no choice but to use the money he saved from his manuscripts to buy a thin piece of land and build it under it, so he could farm and make a living by himself.

An old man in his 60s, a well-known writer, became a farmer in Hainan without any relatives.

It was really hard for Su Dongpo to be a farmer in Hainan. Unlike some high-ranking officials nowadays, after they retired, they used their resources or whatever to acquire a large area of land and become a farm or manor owner, or lease the land to Others live a happy life that is not in officialdom but is better than officialdom.

Su Shi was a farmer in Danzhou. He only had a few acres of land and had never done farm work. Not to mention that he was a lot older. He lost his source of livelihood and had no relatives. Su Shi had no choice but to live with his son in these few days. Planting crops on acres of thin land and surviving together, Mr. Dongpo, a great writer of a generation, lived a really difficult life in Danzhou.

Dongpo had a good life, but the good thing was that he was relegated to Hainan. The people of Hainan were generous and simple in nature, and they had no contempt for a nationally famous writer who was relegated to the local area.

Not only did some people in Qiong's officialdom come to visit him, or occasionally invite him out for tea and dinner, but there were also young literary people or local writers who came to ask for advice and brag from time to time.

Especially for the local Li people, from time to time someone would bring them some dried meat, rice wine, sea fish, fresh fruits, and sulai to sit with him in the orange grove, or help him with some farm work, or chat with him over a fireside, and talk about family affairs. if.

Master Su also used his talents to do something for the local people after working hard. Sometimes he would give lectures, read Feng Shui and check fortunes for local people; medicine.

These comings and goings, the real life and friendship in the ordinary world, added a lot of color and happiness to Master Su, who had experienced the ups and downs of officialdom, in his lonely exiled life.

The literary master Su Shi, who was exiled to Hainan and was over [-] years old, seemed to have some awakening to life and official career only at this time and here.

The poor and miserable life actually adjusted his mood.

During the three years of his exile in Danzhou, he ate taro, drank water, and wrote books for pleasure. He wrote a total of 120 seven poems, four lyrics, various tables, poems, odes, tablets, essays, letters, miscellaneous notes, etc. 180 two articles.

The works of this period no longer have Oyan Hongshen who traveled eastward, and no longer point out the country or inspire words. Instead, in the large number of records of farm life, there is a melodious and self-enjoyed reclusive life like Tao Yuanming. .

It was not easy for Master Su to change his outlook on life in Hainan in his later years.
