urban security
Chapter 319 Attacked
At about 2 o'clock that afternoon, I was standing guard at the entrance of the project department as usual. Suddenly, I noticed that a group of people broke into our project department (because there was no gate installed at the entrance of the wall, which gave them an opportunity to break in). Later I learned that it was the village chief who had gathered a large number of people to cause trouble. This behavior was really outrageous!
After the arrival of this group of uninvited guests, they started to stir up trouble everywhere. Out of duty, I stepped forward to deal with the situation. When they found me, they immediately rushed towards me like a tide. Although I was full of doubts, I still held a naive fantasy that I could convince them by reasoning. Facing those well-prepared perpetrators and lawless thugs holding hoes, shovels and other farm tools, I was not afraid and asked loudly: "Who are you? What are you doing here...?"
It's not just that there's no gate here, they could go anywhere, but they chose this place. I was in the meeting room on the first floor of the tin house at the time, you know? If I were on duty the next day, I would definitely come out to check if someone came in. After all, as a security guard, this is also my duty! I have to ask them what's going on. But who knew, they didn't mean to break up at all, they started to make a move on us right away, and there was a strong smell of foot odor. Those people had a terrible headache, holding poles, shovels and other tools in their hands, looking ferocious.
At first, the rain of attacks came in just six minutes, hitting me like crazy. I was confused and at a loss, and asked them what was going on. I quickly explained, "Are you mistaken? I am not Party A's!" However, they ignored me and continued to beat me, even trying to hit me with objects. Suddenly, a hard object hit my head hard. Because I was not wearing a helmet, blood immediately flowed. This was definitely the most painful experience I have ever had as a security guard.
The villagers seemed to have vented all their anger on me, but I felt innocent and confused. What had happened? Why was I treated like this? After all, these things should be handled by the project department. I was just a janitor. At this moment, a leader in the crowd shouted, "Wrong number, stop!" Hearing this, the others stopped what they were doing.
I took the opportunity to pick up my phone and call the police. I dialed 110 and spoke to the police. A female voice came from the other end of the phone, asking me where I was and what happened. I hurriedly explained the situation to her, hoping to get timely help.
I said nervously, "It's like this, Numberone's home is on a nearby construction site, but it's very chaotic over there right now."
The other party seemed a little confused and continued to ask: "Where? Please explain clearly."
I took a deep breath, tried to calm myself down, and described the location in detail: "It's here, at that construction site, and I'm the only one here."
She still didn't understand, so she pressed on, "Which location of the construction site are you talking about? Do you have any more specific information?"
I tried to recall the surroundings and added, "Um...near the power supply facilities. Please send patrol officers over to investigate the situation as soon as possible."
There was an unquestionable firmness in her voice, as if conveying an important message to me: "We have immediately dispatched patrol police to the scene, please rest assured." She kept emphasizing this point and repeatedly told me to inform the police who were about to arrive of all the relevant situations in detail. I nodded without hesitation and agreed to fully cooperate and follow her instructions.
However, when I hung up the phone, my relaxed and happy mood was instantly replaced by anticipation and eagerness. I couldn't wait for them to arrive quickly and solve the problem at hand. Time passed by minute by minute, and I spent a long and difficult time in anxious waiting, but I never saw them appear. Every minute seemed to become unusually slow, and my inner anxiety gradually increased.
Finally, after more than an hour of waiting, I finally welcomed the arrival of a policeman. He walked towards the leader of the village committee without hesitation, as if he had known the situation here for a long time. I heard some rumors that the cause of this incident was probably because of digging a place that should not be touched!
I was shocked and confused by the news. Why would someone go to such lengths to dig up that particular place? Didn't they know what kind of consequences this might cause? I couldn't help but fall into deep thought, trying to piece together the truth behind the whole incident. At the same time, I secretly prayed that the police could find a solution as soon as possible to resolve this potential crisis.
Oh my, who did this? Could it be some bastard or some blind construction team that was so bold as to dig up his family's grave? This is a big taboo! They were furious for some reason. Then, they angrily found the construction team at the construction site. These people were so stupid that they didn't even bother to find out the ins and outs of the matter. They just rushed to numberone and yelled at me.
Is there any justice in this world? Is there any law in this world? Such an absurd thing actually happened in our society with a sound rule of law, civilization and order! The police didn't show up, and I couldn't stand it any longer. I couldn't wait to see what was going on. So I mustered up my courage and walked in that direction. After walking several hundred meters, I finally arrived in front of them.
They were talking about that incident! Actually, this is normal, but I was a little confused. Why didn't he come to investigate me? Why didn't he come to do something but ran over there? But it doesn't matter. When I approached him, I told him about the beating they had done to me. After hearing this, the policeman immediately glared at me, his eyes full of anger and dissatisfaction.
Seeing his expression, my heart skipped a beat and a chill ran down my spine. I thought to myself, "It's over. This policeman is definitely not a good person." He looked like he was indifferent to my situation and might even be biased towards those who beat me. I felt extremely disappointed and helpless. I originally thought that I could get a fair treatment by finding the police, but now it seems that I was too naive.
I have known for a long time that this construction site is terrible. I have always heard that it is difficult to make a living here. Everyone says that the boss here is black-hearted, often withholding workers' wages, and beating and scolding workers at every turn. I didn't expect that I would actually encounter such a thing today. I am so unlucky! Is there no one who can control these lawless guys? The more I think about it, the more wronged I feel, and tears well up in my eyes. But I know that crying can't solve the problem. I must be strong and seek justice for myself.
The captain assigned me to work here. Now thinking back, I really shouldn't have listened to him and come to work here. Not only did I get beaten up for nothing, but I also put myself in such an embarrassing situation. Oh, it's too late to regret!
I had been extremely disappointed with them, even to the point of despair, so I returned here without hesitation and never wanted to talk to them again. You know, they have never taken me seriously, let alone valued me, so why should I bother myself? Originally, I wanted to reason with them with good intentions, but the response I got was their impatient faces and vicious eyes. Now that things have come to this, what else can I say? This world is not as beautiful as we think, and many times it is just a facade. Isn't this the most powerful evidence? How could this happen? I am just an insignificant security guard. In this place where there is no reason to speak of, what else can I do except to choose to silently endure everything and then leave sadly?
What is justice? Who doesn't enter the workplace with a dream in mind? At that time, we were young and full of energy, thinking that we could make a name for ourselves with our passion, but as time went by and our experience grew, we realized that reality was far more cruel than we imagined. Although we used to be able to proudly show our background and experience, in this era of fierce competition, these seem insignificant. The strong prey on the weak, and the fittest survive. This is the eternal law of history. If we can't make ourselves stronger, we will be eliminated and become a stepping stone for others to succeed. Therefore, we have no choice but to constantly improve ourselves in order to remain invincible in this complex world.
