Chapter 62 Hangover
Because of the hangover and dizziness, Cheng Che did not get up early, which was rare. He slept until after twelve o'clock before waking up.
When she woke up, there was no one beside her, only the faint scent of sandalwood, indicating her existence.
"Songsong?" He called her, and the moment he saw her walk into the bedroom from the living room in her pajamas, the corners of his lips raised slightly.
"Finally woke up." Wen Song handed him a cup of hot black tea and said, "It's for hangovers. I won't dare let you drink anymore. You have such a low alcohol tolerance and you like to talk nonsense when you're drunk."
Cheng Che hugged her waist, thinking of what he said last night, lowered his head in shame, and asked her carefully: "Are you still angry with me?"
"Are you angry? I'll go back to Munich soon." Wen Song snorted coldly.
"Don't leave." Cheng Che held her waist tightly, locking her in his arms, "You can be angry with me, but you are not allowed to leave me."
"I was just kidding, idiot." Wen Song smiled and kissed him between the eyebrows. "If I were really angry, I would have left long ago."
"I promise you, I won't ask again." Cheng Che looked up at him with some guilt.
"It's all over." Wen Song's tone was very calm, without a trace of emotion.
Cheng Che noticed that she looked particularly pale today and thought it was because of a hangover. He rubbed her head and said, "You are not much better than me. You look so pale. Don't drink so much in the future."
"I'm fine." Wen Song smiled and said, "I couldn't get drunk with just a little wine last night. I just have a stomachache because of my period."
"What?" Cheng Che quickly helped her lie down, rubbed her belly and said, "How do you feel now? I'll make you some brown sugar ginger tea. My sister should have woken me up earlier. I'll make you some porridge. Have you had lunch yet? I'll go cook."
"I just took some painkillers and the pain is not that bad anymore. I had some toasted bagels for lunch. But I still want to eat the cheese cream pasta you made."
Wen Song had just taken a painkiller, and the discomfort from her dysmenorrhea had dissipated a lot. However, Cheng Che's palms were warm and broad, and it felt warm and comfortable when placed on her lower abdomen. She did not stop him and enjoyed the feeling of being taken care of by him.
Cheng Che rubbed her stomach for a while, and when he saw that she was not feeling so uncomfortable, he covered her with a blanket and said, "Lie down for a while. I'll take a shower and cook. Have a good rest. Don't drink anymore, baby."
"What did you call me?" Wen Song was startled when he heard his name, and his face turned red with embarrassment and shyness.
"Baby." Cheng Che called out again, "Don't you like it? I see all your friends call you that."
"Cheng Che, I'm older than you..." Wen Song once again emphasized the age gap between the two.
"Yeah, only 491 days." Cheng Che smiled, "I know, baby."
"Don't call me that!" Wen Song was embarrassed and angry. He took a pillow and threw it at him, "If you call me that again, I'll leave."
"Okay, I won't scream anymore." Cheng Che chuckled and said to her, "Have a good rest. Tell me if you feel uncomfortable."
After Cheng Che finished his bath, he poured Wen Song a cup of hot tea and gently said, "I made you a cup of brown sugar, red dates and ginger tea. Drink it while it's hot."
"Thank you, but I don't drink ginger tea, and I don't like the taste of brown sugar." Wen Song thanked him lightly, lay on the bed and read the novel that Cheng Che placed on the bedside, without touching the cup of tea.
"But you have menstrual cramps, right? I saw on the Internet that drinking this would help."
"No." Wen Song shook his head and said, "The best way to treat dysmenorrhea is painkillers. I just took them."
"So what do you want to drink?" Cheng Che asked while rubbing her belly.
"Can you make me an iced American coffee? It's very simple, mineral water, ice and espresso. Hehe, don't you have a coffee machine at home?" Wen Song asked with a smile.
"No." Cheng Che refused immediately, "You are on your period, you can't drink cold drinks, it will make your stomach hurt more."
"Baby, there has not been any medical research showing that drinking cold drinks can cause dysmenorrhea. I think the so-called "can't eat cold food during menstruation" is just a rumor. After all, I have been in Europe for so many years and have never heard of such a saying." Perhaps because of his weakness, Wen Song's tone today was particularly lazy and gentle.
When Cheng Che heard her call him "baby", the corners of his mouth inadvertently rose, but he suppressed his inner joy and said in a serious tone, "I don't care. Anyway, we Chinese cannot drink ice during menstruation."
"You talk like you've been here before." Wen Song rolled his eyes in annoyance, threw back the quilt and got out of bed.
Cheng Che grabbed her and said, "Where are you going?"
"Go get some water. Since you refuse to help me make it, I can only do it on my own." Wen Song said with a smile.
Cheng Che picked her up and put her back on the bed. He bit her lips gently and said angrily, "It seems that the painkillers you took are effective. Your stomachache is gone so quickly."
"It's still a little bit..." Wen Song said silently.
Cheng Che smiled helplessly and continued to rub her belly. Seeing that she didn't even touch the cup of ginger tea, he had no choice but to make her a cup of hot cocoa. "Hot cocoa, would you like to drink this?"
"This is fine." Wen Song raised the corners of his mouth slightly, revealing a faint smile, picked up the cup and took a sip. The rich aroma of chocolate and the mellow taste of milk intertwined and blended in his mouth, with just the right amount of heat and sweetness. After drinking it, it dispelled a lot of discomfort in his stomach.
Seeing that Wen Song looked pale but in good spirits, Cheng Che felt relieved and went to the kitchen to cook for her. He also specifically told her not to go barefoot or eat ice.
"I see, you're so long-winded." Wen Song sighed and curled his lips, "I really should let you meet my grandmother."
"Okay." Cheng Che turned around and said, "I'm looking forward to it."
He suddenly remembered what his father said, that Lawyer Wen went to Switzerland after the divorce, but Wen Song said that she only came to Switzerland when she was twelve years old. So she must have lived alone with her grandparents for so many years.
Thinking of this, Cheng Che felt a little more distressed and couldn't help asking, "Songsong, it must have been very difficult for you and your mother over the years."
"It's OK." Wen Song said calmly, "I think my life is lucky enough. There's no need to worry about it."
"Yeah." Cheng Che nodded in response. This was also what he liked about Wen Song. She never bothered herself with trivial matters.
Lunch was white truffle cream cheese pasta. Wen Song didn't have much appetite, but worried that Cheng Che would be disappointed, she still endured the discomfort in her stomach and finished the whole plate of pasta. But after finishing the meal, she felt very bloated.
Cheng Che noticed that she was frowning and rubbing her stomach, and asked with concern: "What's wrong, sister? Is your stomach hurting again?"
"It's okay." Wen Song smiled, "Just a little bloated, don't worry, I always feel this way two days before my period, I have no appetite and can't eat."
"You should have told me then." Cheng Che said self-reproachfully, "It's all my fault. I should have noticed it earlier and made some porridge and soup for my sister that is easier to digest."
"What are you doing?" Wen Song laughed dumbly and patted him lightly, "It's okay, I'm like this every time, it's not your fault. Don't always take the blame on yourself, I'm already very grateful that you cooked for me."
"Sister, don't thank me." Cheng Che blocked her words with a kiss, "I'm very happy to be able to cook for you, very happy."
In the evening, Cheng Che considered that she had no appetite, so he stewed a fish maw and chicken soup for her, and made a dish of blanched Chinese cabbage. He served her a bowl of soup and said, "If you don't have much appetite, drink some soup."
Wen Song nodded and took a sip. It tasted extremely delicious, and even his stomach, which had been feeling uncomfortable, felt much better. He couldn't help but exclaimed, "How did you cook it? It tastes better than the Cantonese chef my mom hired from Hong Kong."
"It's very simple, just follow the recipe and make it." Cheng Che said, "I know you won't spend time on this, it's okay, I'll make it for you."
Seeing that she barely touched the dish, he picked up a chopstick and put it next to her mouth and said, "Open your mouth. You should eat more vegetables to supplement your vitamins."
"Got it." Wen Song looked at him with a gentle smile and ate the cabbage that was handed to him. "A Che, I'm really worried that I'll become too dependent on you."
"What nonsense are you talking about." Now it was Cheng Che's turn to be unhappy, "Isn't this good?"
"Okay?" Wen Song asked back.
Wen Yiheng had always told her that everyone is an independent individual, and she should not tie her life to anyone, let alone rely too much on someone. In the end, everyone is left alone. Therefore, she has always kept a respectful distance from others, just to prevent herself from being too obsessed with someone.
"Okay." Cheng Che said, "It's like, I can't live without my sister in my life. If my sister also needs me, then can't we be together forever?"
"Yeah..." Wen Song nodded calmly, "You are right."
Because of the discomfort caused by her menstrual period, Wen Song allowed herself to stay at Cheng Che's house for two more days, enjoying his meticulous care for her. Two days later, her internship was about to start, and she had to return to Munich.
When Cheng Che sent her to the train station, he reluctantly said, "How about I come to see you every weekend? Or, how about I change the training location to Spitzingsee or Zugspitze? It's closer to you."
"Don't make trouble." Wen Song frowned slightly. "You should train wherever you are supposed to. You have been preparing for the World Cup in November for so long. Don't make trouble. I will be very busy when I return to Munich and won't have that much time to accompany you."
"Okay." Cheng Che lowered his head somewhat disappointedly, "Then you have to call me every day, okay?"
"If you're not busy, I'll call you." Wen Song still couldn't agree to him immediately.
"I know." Cheng Che knew that her studies must be her top priority, so he stopped forcing her. He kissed her lips gently and said softly, "But you have to think of me."
"Okay." Wen Song smiled, "I'll get in the car first. You should train well and don't miss me too much."
On the way back to Munich, Wen Song actually felt an inexplicable sense of relief. Life with Cheng Che was certainly happy and sweet, but he was too clingy. He always dragged her along with him in everything he did, sticking to her all the time, making her feel that she had lost her personal space.
Thinking about returning to her own life, she was reluctant, but she couldn't ignore the relief she felt. She suddenly felt some self-blame and fear. Cheng Che's love for her was too great, and she couldn't bear it.
