Harry Potter: Glory Bows to Me
Chapter 110 Christmas Day Holiday Day 1
Amanta woke up from her bed.
Fortunately, today is the first day of the Christmas holiday.
As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw her "masterpiece" from yesterday - the walls of the room had turned into gold.
Amanta twitched her lips, dragged her suitcase from the bedside, and put it into the Sage's Ring against the dazzling reflection of the wall. As for the cage containing Bertha, she thought about it and decided to carry it in her hands.
After all, she had never tried to use the Sage's Ring to put a living creature in it.
Generally speaking, items like this that have been cast with space magic are usually not allowed to contain living things.
She waited briefly in the common room before Harry and Draco emerged from their dormitories, dragging their suitcases and owl cages.
"Amanta, where's your luggage?"
Harry asked in surprise.
"I thought you were used to it..." Amanta tapped her left wrist. "By the way, Draco, why don't you pack your luggage in as well?"
She looked at Draco in confusion. Like Harry, Draco was also dragging a huge suitcase, and there were even several large packages piled on it.
"...I've almost filled my ring." Draco blushed slightly.
Harry interrupted, "Amanta, you haven't seen how much money Draco spends - what's the name of that shop in Diagon Alley? The Extraordinary Clothing Shop? Every time there is a new product, Draco will order it - he is also their VIP customer."
Amanta shrugged.
"I have no doubt about that."
Harry seemed to have grabbed a life-saving straw and immediately poured out his grievances to Amanta.
"He even visited the Fengya wizard clothing store and Madam Malkin's robe store."
"Besides that, he always likes to collect some weird things... like those in the shops in Knockturn Alley - he buys so much that sometimes he even piles them on my bed."
"Knockturn Alley?" Amanta was slightly surprised. "I heard that it's a dark magic business district. What did he buy?"
"Harry, stop talking."
Draco immediately glared at Harry.
Harry looked at him aggrievedly, but still chose to speak out.
"He bought a black poison candle last time, saying that if you say a person's name when it's lit, he will die instantly. Then... I said Voldemort's name, but I don't think it will work."
"The last time, he bought a big spider, saying it could eat all the rats in the neighborhood. Two days later, we saw it dead in the dormitory corridor."
"Another time, it was a bone scepter, supposedly made from a human shin bone, but—"
"And... umm!"
"Shut up! Harry." Draco couldn't bear it anymore and covered his mouth with his hand.
Harry's mouth was covered by Draco, and he kept making humming sounds and blinking at Amanta desperately.
Amanta thought that what he meant might be... that he would find a time when Draco was not around to tell her all this.
She silently wiped the cold sweat from her forehead.
"It seems that the effectiveness of dark magic items... depends entirely on the conscience of the maker." She commented pertinently.
"I just thought these things looked cool..." Draco defended, "It was Harry who wanted to try them himself that I told him what they were used for."
"But you bought it and just left it there - that seems a bit of a shame, doesn't it?"
Harry said innocently.
"...How many times have I said that I really, just want to use them as decorations!" Draco gritted his teeth.
Seeing that the situation was about to develop in an irreversible direction, Amanta quickly changed the subject.
"Well, the Slytherins are almost gone, I think it's time for us to go too."
She glanced around the Slytherin common room. The Slytherins were almost eager to return home for their Christmas holidays.
While they were chatting, almost everyone here had already left.
Draco glanced down at the time.
"Well, I think our carriage is waiting for us."
"Carriage?" Harry said excitedly. "We're going to take a carriage?"
"Yes," Draco said.
"I haven't ridden in a carriage yet - or rather, I've only seen it on TV and at the Queen's parade."
Harry kept rubbing his hands together, his eagerness evident.
"Most of the other students will return by train, but the Malfoy family -" Draco said proudly, "of course they will use a special carriage."
They walked up the long stairs and corridors from the Slytherin dungeon, exited from a corridor, and came to the small square in front of the hall.
At a glance, they saw the pure black carriage waiting in the small square.
The carriage is pure black, even the wheels and the curtains on both sides are black. The wood of the carriage is extremely smooth and has a soft luster, making it look low-key and mysterious.
The side of the carriage had a logo painted in silver-green in the lower right corner.
Amanta recognized it at a glance; it was the same Malfoy family emblem as the one on their badge.
There were many students waiting here, and they were whispering to each other while looking at the pure black carriage from time to time.
"Can you see it?" a Hufflepuff student pointed at the carriage and asked the person next to him, "the thing that's pulling the carriage?"
"There's nothing pulling the carriage." Another student asked curiously.
"You really can't see? The one pulling the carriage? The black one with wings."
Another student was a little angry.
"There's really nothing. Are you kidding me?"
Apparently they were not the only ones having this problem.
"Wow! So cool! But... this is a carriage, and it's not pulled by a horse." Harry looked at the carriage not far away in confusion, "Uh, could it be... that our horses haven't arrived yet?"
Draco led them towards the carriage.
"I heard that it was pulled by a magical creature called the Thestral, but I haven't seen one since I was a child."
"Why?" Harry asked curiously.
Amanta answered him slowly: "Because only those who have witnessed death can see them."
She could see the Thestrals, too.
Two horses, all black, with dragon-headed bodies, tall and muscular, and a pair of huge bat wings on their backs, stood in front of the carriage.
Their fur was shiny black, which matched the pure black carriage perfectly. The silver reins and saddle made them and the carriage look less monotonous, but revealed a low-key luxury.
Draco walked in front and said nonchalantly, "Who knows? Maybe this is just something those bored adults made up to fool us."
"No...I can see it."
Amanta shook her head, her eyes fixed on the two beautiful creatures in front of her.
