Harry Potter: Glory Bows to Me

Chapter 17 Welcome to Hogwarts!

After Harry finished packing, the sky outside the window had completely darkened.

Amanta looked out the window. The forest roared past the window, clouds of mist covered the mountains, and deep blue and purple had soaked the sky, casting patches of light on the silent lake.

By calculating the time it took to pass through each bridge tunnel, Amanta determined that the train was slowing down.

"The train will arrive at Hogwarts in five minutes. Please leave your luggage on the train."

It seemed that the voice of the train announcer was echoing in the car. Amanta stood up and checked the belongings she carried with her. She saw that Harry's face turned pale with nervousness.

"There's nothing to worry about, Harry."

She told Harry, even though she wasn't sure if it would work.

Draco straightened his shirt.

"Finally, we're here. My father told me that when we get to Hogwarts, we'll be taken to the Sorting first. Amanta, Harry, see you in Slytherin."

Harry forced a weak smile, and Amanta could see that he was so nervous that his bangs were almost wet with sweat.

"See you in Slytherin."

They waited until most of the people on the train got off before walking towards the train door. The platform was so crowded that the night chill seemed to be less severe.

"First years! Look here! Come here! Oh! Harry! Is that you?"

A huge oil lamp swung high above the students' heads, and the warm orange light set off the holder's thick beard.

"Hagrid! It's us! And Amanta and Draco!"

Harry smiled widely, and it was obvious that he was in a much more relaxed mood. He raised his hand to respond to Hagrid, then squeezed over with Amanta and Draco.

"That's right! Follow me, little girls and boys! Are there any first-year students? Follow me!"

A group of first graders followed behind Hagrid. Their tall stature made them look even smaller. They stumbled down the hillside along a path, and Amanta nearly slipped several times.

"Be careful!"

Draco frowned and tugged on her sleeve.

"We're about to see Hogwarts, freshmen, are you ready?"

Hagrid's rough and loud voice pierced through the dark night.

"oh--!"

There was an exclamation from the front of the crowd. Amanta looked up in the direction where everyone was looking up. A magnificent castle sat on the hillside. The castle was brightly lit, and windows were dotted on the Gothic spires.

Below it was a black lake, and it looked like they were going to cross it by boat.

“No more than four people can fit on one boat!”

Hagrid shouted to the crowd of freshmen.

Amanta, Draco, and Harry got on a small boat, along with a girl with short hair. Hagrid got on a small boat himself and rowed in the front.

As soon as they sat down, the oars automatically rowed towards the castle. It looked a little weird. Amanta and Harry didn't say anything, just stared at Hogwarts in a daze.

The short-haired girl suddenly spoke.

"Oh Draco! Haven't seen you in a month or two, are you okay?"

She had thick short black hair, and her black pupils looked at the other three people on the boat without any hesitation.

"Oh...thanks to Tomerin, I'm fine."

Draco replied nonchalantly, leaning to the side of the boat and poking the water with his index and middle fingers.

"Are these your new friends? No wonder you haven't been to any family gatherings lately. Are you hanging out with them?"

Obviously Draco's indifferent attitude caused dissatisfaction among the short-haired girl. She looked straight at Amanta and Harry - especially Amanta.

"I think there is no one among us - among the twenty-eight clans - who doesn't know each other, Draco. How did you meet these shabby people? They are not Mudbloods, are they? Does your father know that you hang out with them?" the short-haired girl commented bluntly.

The Twenty-Eight Clans, she was referring to the Twenty-Eight Sacred Pure-Blood Clans, which were twenty-eight wizarding families in which no Muggles or Muggle-borns had ever appeared. Amanta was somewhat certain about the girl's identity.

However, these words obviously aroused Harry's anger.

Harry clenched his fists, his face flushed with anger. "Really? Is that how you see us? Is that how you evaluate a few people you don't even know?"

Amanta held down the angry Harry.

"I think people shouldn't always judge others by their own knowledge and make such shallow and ignorant remarks."

She responded with a cold gaze, and the short-haired girl looked at her viciously, as if she wanted to poke a few holes in her face with her eyes.

Draco glanced at Amanta quickly with a look of slight approval, and Amanta vaguely saw the corners of his mouth slightly raised.

"Pansy, has the Parkinson family fallen on despair? Your actions are really a disgrace to the Parkinson family."

Sure enough, Draco's words confirmed Amanta's guess, Pansy Parkinson...

Uh...she probably understood why Pansy had been looking at her with such hatred. If she remembered correctly, Pansy had always been Draco's loyal admirer and follower.

In this situation, she must have regarded him as an imaginary love rival.

Misunderstand! It's all a misunderstanding!

Amanta couldn't help but quietly move to the side, trying to distance herself from Draco.

Pansy was so angry that she couldn't speak. She probably didn't expect that after bringing up Draco's father, Draco would still be indifferent. Her eyes were red and she bit her lips tightly.

In the last half day, I could only utter a few words.

"Draco, you've changed..."

"is it?"

Pansy seemed to want to say something else, but Hagrid's loud shout in front of her stopped her thoughts.

"We're here! Freshmen, get off the boat and follow me!"

They were busy climbing down from the boats, and as Hagrid was counting the boats he called out to the group of freshmen, "Come and see whose toad it is!"

"Thanks Merlin!"

Neville rushed over in great joy, picked up his toad and kissed it twice.

"Oh… God!"

Amanta saw a red-haired boy in the freshman group make an expression as if he was about to vomit.

They climbed up a flight of stairs. Some people seemed to have stepped on other people's robes and there were a few complaints, but no one stayed there for long. Everyone followed Hagrid as quickly as possible. Every freshman had a nervous and expectant look on his face.

It wasn't long before they reached the wet grass in front of the castle. Hagrid reached out and knocked three times on the huge oak door.

The door opened immediately and Professor McGonagall stood in the doorway.

Professor McGonagall was wearing a bright emerald green robe today. Her hair was tied up so tightly that every strand seemed to be stretched against her scalp. She scanned the crowd with her sharp eyes.

Then she gave a smile that looked slightly kind on her serious face.

"First year, follow me, welcome to Hogwarts."
