Harry Potter: Glory Bows to Me

Chapter 2 Amanta's Selfishness and Ambition

Amanta's selfish motive is simple.

Of the four major colleges in Hogwarts, her favorite is Slytherin.

He is a shrewd, powerful and ambitious Slytherin.

In Hogwarts, and even in the entire British wizarding world, most wizards are quite prejudiced against wizards from Slytherin.

Although Amanta had to admit that Slytherin was home to many evil dark wizards who followed the Dark Lord, became his servants, and committed all kinds of evil deeds and sins.

But Slytherin still has heroes like Regulus and Snape.

Then there’s Merlin, her current ancestor—it’s said he was also a Slytherin.

Another example is Oscar Wilde’s words: “Every saint has a past, every sinner has a future.”

It was the wizards who were evil, not the academy, Amanta firmly believed.

Her goal is to lead Slytherin back to glory.

Having made up her mind, Amanta squinted in front of the map column next to the Surrey road sign, looking for the location of Privet Drive in Little Whinging.

At this time, she might be able to change Harry's perception of Slytherin before he receives the admission letter from Hogwarts.

Oh, maybe...she could even try to get Harry into Slytherin?

This bold idea popped into her mind.

Amanta nodded thoughtfully.

This plan is not unfeasible. After all, even the Sorting Hat said that Harry Potter can achieve glory in Slytherin.

If even the savior entered Slytherin, then her goal would at least be half accomplished.

An hour later, Amanta got off the bus at Privet Drive.

Instead of running to number 4 Privet Drive and knocking on the door and shouting "Excuse me, is Harry Potter here?", she chose to search for Harry around Privet Drive.

She remembered clearly that it was summer vacation, and Harry would usually hang around Privet Drive to avoid being chased by his cousin Dudley and his gang.

After she passed the twelve streetlights of Privet Drive, she found a lonely, thin little boy swinging slowly on a swing with his back to the road in an amusement facility that was already overgrown with weeds.

Looking from behind, all you could see was the boy's messy short black hair and the loose, baggy, old clothes he was wearing.

Amanta felt somewhat certain in her heart that the little boy in front of her was most likely the famous Harry Potter in the wizarding world.

She tentatively greeted, "Hey!"

The boy looked around, as if observing if there was anyone around. After finding that someone seemed to be calling him, he turned his head uncertainly.

Three or four meters away from him stood a girl with a face as delicate as a doll.

Harry had never seen anyone so beautiful before, and if he had, it was probably when he happened to glimpse her on the television screen that Dudley was watching.

"Hello...Hello...Are you calling me?"

Harry stammered, he couldn't believe that such a beautiful girl would take the initiative to talk to him.

"um, yes."

Amanta tried to force out what she thought was a harmless smile.

But she soon realized that the smile might not be very successful, because Harry seemed even more at a loss.

She quickly put away her smile and looked at an empty swing next to Harry.

"I mean, if you don't mind, can I swing next to you?"

"Oh... of course."

Amanta studied the boy beside her from the corner of her eye.

A gust of wind blew through the boy's heavy bangs, which lifted up for a moment, revealing the lightning scar on his forehead.

Add to that the pair of broken round glasses held together with tape, and the pair of emerald green eyes vaguely visible under the glasses.

She was sure that the boy was Harry Potter.

"You know, we are the same kind of people."

Amanta suddenly turned around and stared at Harry seriously.

"I'm sorry...I didn't understand."

Harry answered her blankly with innocent green eyes that reminded Amanta of some furry little animals.

"I mean, we all know magic, we're wizards."

Harry's eyes widened even more, but Amanta ignored his surprise and continued, "Don't you find that... when you are afraid - or angry, some strange and inexplicable things often happen around you?"

Harry immediately thought of the time not long ago when he talked to the python at the zoo, and then the glass-disappearing python scared Dudley half to death, as well as the strange things that happened to him when the Dursleys were angry with him and abused him since he was a child.

But this still couldn't make him accept what the girl said so quickly.

After all, this is incredible.

"You mean... I'm a wizard... Oh my god, how is this possible?"

Harry muttered to himself, his eyes full of disbelief. It was obvious that the impact of this incident was a bit too much for him.

"Harry, you are very famous in the wizarding world. In fact, I have known you since I was a child, and I also know your parents."

Amanta dropped another bombshell.

"my parents?"

Harry grasped the point sharply, stopped the swing, and looked at Amanta eagerly.

"Yes, your parents are both excellent wizards and are very famous. I think you will be their pride in the future."

"Please, may I ask what else you know...about my parents?"

Harry couldn't even resist using the honorific.

"Your parents, Lily Potter and James Potter, were both very kind and upright wizards, but they were killed while fighting against Voldemort... the Dark Lord..."

Amanta looked at Harry's pale face and continued.

"But when he was about to kill you, something, possibly from you, suddenly rebounded onto him... From then on, Voldemort disappeared without a trace from this world."

"my parents……"

Harry muttered to himself, and as Amanta spoke, some broken images suddenly flashed before his eyes.

Some blinding green lights and a woman's shrill screams... Was it his mother?

There were also bursts of cold and terrifying laughter...

This time the image was clearer than any of his previous nightmares.

He thought that although what the girl said was outrageous, it was indeed the only reasonable explanation.

"Harry, I also know that you will receive an acceptance letter from Hogwarts this summer. After the summer vacation, we will all go to Hogwarts to study."

Amanta cleverly changed the subject, bringing Harry's thoughts back from the terrible memories.

"Hogwarts? Is that a school? We're going to school there?"

"Hogwarts is the best magic school in the world. In the next seven years, we will study magic together there..."

Amanta gave Harry an introduction to Hogwarts, and Harry listened with great interest.

But soon after, he suddenly thought of something and interrupted Amanta with some disappointment.

"But Aunt Petunia plans to send me to Stonewall School... I'm afraid Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon will never let me go to Hogwarts."

Amanta winked at him mysteriously.

"Don't worry, Hogwarts will find a way. You are a wizard."

"Really?" Harry asked eagerly.

"of course."

Harry didn't know why, but this strange girl made him feel inexplicably trustful.

He believed her for the time being, but he soon thought of a new question.

"Um...you just said that Hogwarts has four houses. We will be sorted into different houses by the Sorting Hat?"
