Harry Potter: Glory Bows to Me

Chapter 269: Rumors are becoming more and more numerous

Amanta sat quietly at the Slytherin table, her fingertips gently stroking the silver spoon, Julius' words surging in her mind.

"Draco wouldn't really understand you."

"Will he really always be on your side?"

Her grip tightened involuntarily for a moment, and her eyes darkened slightly.

Of course she knew that Julius was dividing them, and she knew that his words were inducement and calculation.

but……

Does he really have no reason at all?

Her eyes involuntarily fell on the other end of the long table, where a figure was sitting quietly with an elegant posture, flipping through an ancient book with his slender fingertips.

Julius Hoffmann.

As if sensing something, he slowly raised his eyes and met her gaze.

Those dark eyes were bottomless, with a sense of seeing through everything.

Then he smiled faintly.

The smile was gentle, but more like a mockery, a clear sense of her hesitation - he knew that she was doubting.

A chill instantly ran down Amanta's back, as if she had been completely seen through.

She quickly looked away, lowered her head, took a sip of juice, and forced herself to calm down.

No, she will not be affected.

Julius's seduction wouldn't really work on her.

She took a deep breath, closed the book, and stood up.

"Harry," she said quietly, "go to class."

Harry was busy stuffing the last piece of bread into his mouth. When he heard her words, he slurred his response: "Ouch - OK, wait until I swallow it!"

Amanta raised an eyebrow, watching him swallow the food in two or three bites, and said in a light tone: "Can't you finish eating earlier?"

Harry shrugged and grinned: "The breakfast at Hogwarts is so sumptuous, I'd be sorry if I didn't finish it!"

Draco glanced at Harry coldly and said with disdain: "Can you not be so embarrassed? Do you know that you don't look like a Slytherin at all when you eat?"

Harry rolled his eyes: "Then why don't you help me cut some bread and feed me?"

Draco: "..."

Amanta suppressed her laughter and patted Harry on the shoulder: "Let's go, or Flitwick will deduct points from you again."

"Oh, Merlin bless you," Harry muttered, following her towards the Charms classroom.

-----------------

Today's Charms class was taken together with Ravenclaw, and the teacher who taught them Charms was still the short and energetic Professor Flitwick.

Amanta had just sat down and hadn't even opened the book when she saw a familiar figure approaching.

"Amanta," Hermione asked carefully, lowering her voice, "Have you been studying ancient magic and relics recently?"

Amanta raised an eyebrow and looked at Hermione.

"how do you know?"

Hermione's eyes sparkled with curiosity: "I saw you browsing related books in the library, and I am also very interested in this. If possible... can I discuss it with you?"

Amanta smiled and nodded, "Of course, I'm happy."

She recognized Hermione's academic ability. Over the past two years, they would occasionally exchange some theories, especially on the research of potions and spells.

Hermione has a meticulous mind and clear logic. Although she is sometimes a little rigid, she is still a very talented wizard.

"Great!" Hermione smiled, her eyes full of excitement.

But at this moment, several Ravenclaw students sitting next to her looked at her subtly, and one girl even whispered a reminder: "Hermione, do you really want to get too close to Merlin?"

Hermione was slightly stunned and frowned: "What do you mean?"

Another boy lowered his voice with a vigilant tone: "Hermione, we are doing this for your own good. You know Merlin's reputation, right? Slytherin students are... not very trustworthy. What's more, she is a future candidate for the Dark Lord."

"What?" Hermione's face darkened and her voice suddenly rose.

Amanta's eyes turned slightly cold, and her fingertips tapped the desk unconsciously.

It was the Dark Lord's rumor again.

It wasn't the first time she'd heard it, but she was curious - where on earth did these people get these ridiculous speculations from?

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Hermione retorted without hesitation, with obvious dissatisfaction in her tone.

"Hermione, listen to me, we are not just making random guesses." The girl said in a hurried tone, lowering her voice, "Do you know that Merlin and the others have formed a secret group in private? They are called 'S.O', and all the members are from Slytherin and Hufflepuff, and Harry and Draco are in it!"

Hermione frowned immediately: "SO team? What are you talking about?"

"It's a secret organization. We don't know what they discuss inside. But they never allow outsiders to join. And I heard that they usually study some... unorthodox things."

Hermione rolled her eyes and said angrily, "Who told you that? Have you seen it with your own eyes?"

The Ravenclaw students were speechless and stammered, "We...we just heard..."

"You spread such ridiculous rumors just because you heard them? Don't you think you are stupid?" Hermione said coldly, with a blunt tone, "I know Amanta and I know Harry, they will never do such a ridiculous thing as 'succession to the Dark Lord'! If you really believe those rumors, then find evidence instead of spreading them here at random!"

Several Ravenclaw students were embarrassed by what she said and dared not speak anymore.

Hermione snorted coldly, turned her head and looked at Amanta with a firm look in her eyes: "Ignore them, Amanta, they don't know what they are talking about."

Amanta's eyes moved slightly, and she smiled softly: "It's okay, I'm used to it."

Her tone was calm, but there was something strange in her heart.

Rumors began to spread more and more.

And she knew very well that this was no coincidence.
