"Dad and your mom are thinking of going to Shu to celebrate the New Year. You haven't seen the New Year of the human race yet, it's quite lively."

The Fox King explained while riding on the clouds and hurrying on his way.

"Shu? It feels like it's getting warmer along the way."

"Shu is known as the Land of Abundance, a land of fish and rice, with a pleasant climate. When your father and mother visited the human world, they found it quite interesting."

However, the family was surprised when they arrived. It was not a devastated place, but there were refugees everywhere, making a lot of noise. Every now and then, someone would lie on the ground and never get up again. In just that moment, Yu'er saw the various aspects of human life and the fickleness of the world.

The Fox King and his wife regretted it and turned to leave with Yu'er. But Yu'er patted the Fox King and asked him to put her down. She looked into her parents' eyes and said, "Let's go help!"

"Yu'er, don't do anything stupid. Mother knows that you have a kind heart and you can't bear to see these things, so you want to save people. But it's not such an easy thing to do. If you save someone you shouldn't save, you will be involved in the underworld and the law of cause and effect, and it will be difficult to get out of it!" The lady looked at her beloved daughter's amber eyes, which seemed to be free of a trace of haze, and said in a soft but firm tone.

The Fox King shook his head, expressing his disapproval. "It's fate that we can see all this, so if you can help, then help!"

"You are the good ones and I am the bad one, right?" Seeing that one or two of them refused to listen to her advice, the lady lowered her voice and shouted angrily.

"Mom, I have a way."

As Yu'er said this, she walked towards the land temple not far away, lit a stick of incense, and summoned the land god back.

"Is the land god the city land god?"

The summoned land god was holding a household registration book in his hand, and kept making marks on it. He had an anxious and angry look on his face. He looked like a little demon who looked like a few years old, and he suppressed his anger.

"Little kid, what do you want from me?"

"I want to help. I know you're busy right now and you definitely need a hand."

"You are just a little demon who has just transformed. How can you help?" Even though he suppressed his anger, he couldn't help but speak harshly when he heard that Yu'er thought Yu'er was daydreaming.

"My parents are here, and they can lend a hand."

Only then did the land god stop looking down on Yu'er. Yes, at this moment, he dared not look down on Yu'er. After all, not every little demon had a pair of parents who cultivated to the level of a fairyland on earth.

The Fox King and his wife did not actually tell Yu'er when she asked them about becoming immortals. In fact, they were already immortals, but they had not yet ascended to heaven.

"There are six people in my family, my parents, me and two maids. I can't do anything else, but I can help guide the souls to the City God Temple."

"You're right! Can you please ask your parents to come over?"

Yu'er waved to her parents. Madam put away the dissatisfaction on her face and walked over together.

"I have met two demon kings."

"Don't be so polite, God of Land. I hope my daughter hasn't caused you any trouble!"

"I am very grateful to you for helping me lead the souls to the City God Temple! But now not only is the city too busy to stop, I am afraid that the villages and towns below are even more chaotic. I am asking for more, and I hope you can stay for a little longer."

The more the God of Land spoke, the more guilty he felt. He had just spoken harshly, but now he was even more demanding and asking for favors.

"We will help if we can. The city has the most people, and my husband and I can travel between the city, the land temple, and the city god temple as quickly as possible. My daughter and maidservant are not very skilled, so they can go to the villages and towns below to help. We will set off immediately." The Fox King made the decision.

"On behalf of the people of this city, I would like to thank you all!"

As the God of Land said this, he was about to bow down, but was held back by the Fox King.

The lady became very angry after hearing what the Fox King said, and the Fox King grabbed her hand.

"Yu'er, you have to do what you proposed, and do it with all your strength. Are you afraid that your parents are not by your side?"

"I'm not afraid, Dad and Mom. I can do what I say. Mom, please do your work well and don't worry about me. I will finish my work as soon as possible and come to join Dad and Mom."

While the family of three was talking, they did not see the Buddha's light emerging in the distance. It turned out that it was Samantabhadra Bodhisattva watching everything in the clouds.

Silently chant Amitabha in your heart. Demons have good intentions and kind hearts, and we Buddhists should also do our part.

After Yu'er had been busy for several days, dozens of female Taoist priests and nuns came from the city. The Taoist priests helped the living to heal their wounds and diseases, while the nuns prayed for the dead. Everyone performed their duties.

After nearly a month of hard work, it was almost New Year's Day. Everything finally returned to calm. At this time, a golden light flashed in the sky, and some golden dots fell. Yu'er looked at this thing heading straight for her head, and she was so scared that she ran around holding her head.

"Little kid, this is the golden light of merit, it's a good thing. If you demons have it, you will be struck less severely by thunder and have a higher chance of surviving." said a man with a slight beard and seven feet tall.

Yu'er didn't hear anything else but heard that the golden light of merit was equal to living longer, so she tried desperately to see where her parents were.

"Mom, Dad, this is for you. Half for each of you."

"Father and mother have it, you should quickly take it in too! Mother really underestimated my fox cub. It can help father and mother earn merit and gold. Next time there is a thunder tribulation, mother will try her best, and she can accompany you for thousands of more years." The lady touched Yu'er's face, tears flashing in her eyes. Her voice became lower and lower, but she could not suppress the smile on the corner of her mouth.

"I'm sorry to have embarrassed you, Lord Fu (City God)." The Fox King bowed in greeting.

"This is not something to laugh at, it's kindness, it's love, it's beauty! As the City God, I've seen many children being unfilial, but your child's filial piety is rare! Filial piety is rare!"

The City God stroked his beard and laughed.

"Everyone has worked hard, let's get together during the New Year, get together!"

While everyone was drinking, the City God quietly took the Fox King aside.

"Brother Nianqiao, I have an unreasonable request." As soon as the City God began to say this, the Fox King felt his scalp tingling and his back chilled, and he was about to interrupt him.

"Actually, it's about whether you can leave your little Yu'er to me. I mean, she can be my subordinate, be officially admitted to the divine realm, and be supported by heaven and earth."

The Fox King's expression changed according to what the City God said.

"You don't know, your little Yu'er is very capable despite her small size. The county god was short of subordinates and was very slow in sending people to reincarnation. It was Yu'er who came up with a solution to solve the problem."

In fact, Yu'er didn't do anything, just sorted them into different categories. Separate the souls of each village, and then sort them out according to their merits and demerits, into five categories: merits without demerits, merits with minor demerits, no merits without demerits, merits with major demerits, and no merits with demerits. Send them to the underworld according to their level, and each time when there are more than 100 people, they will be extradited.

"Thank you for your kindness, Lord. Yu'er is a little clever, but she is still young and unstable. I only have this one daughter, so I can't bear to let her go. If she grows up and you still don't change your mind, and she is willing, I will let her try."

"Forget it! It's not our destiny after all! Let's go and have a drink."

Yu'er was already drunk at this time. With the golden light of merit, the crisis of the next thunder tribulation for her parents was basically solved, so Yu'er relaxed a lot and drank a few more sips without realizing it. Then he let out his tail and hooked his mother's legs, laughing foolishly.

ps: One more sentence. There is a real Laji Mountain in Qinghai. Mount Emei became the place of practice for Samantabhadra Bodhisattva when the Yanhua Sutra was introduced in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. Before that, Mount Emei was a Taoist place for Kundao (female) to practice. Later, it was changed to Buddhism and nuns. Now there are monks too.
